wow i had no idea that me and my brother were that good and hated on diabolos. Cmoney is my older brothers character and i use him to hunt lizzy boots. yes he uses winged boots while he does it but that is funny(makes us look like ******* if you dont believe me that is fine... i have gotten 2 paris of leaping boots with his char and i think he has gotten 5-6. you have given us a new reason to constantly hunt lizzy and you should be proud of it:) if you dont believe me my chars name is Reecethegreat and next time i am hunting her ask me about this post. i always stand on the left rock next to the mountian and cmoney is a lvl 50rng/25thf when we hunt. this is awesome btw... people talk about us on allakhazam woot woot

well i did it, spent 12 hours camping the LEaping Lizzy but i got the boots.
and i came to this conclusion, i started at 8pm and boom the lizzy came at 830pm, which sucked because it was on the opposite side of the mountain. so i waited then at 1130 she came again then again i was on the wrong side again because i had moved, so then i stayed on the side i was and stood on a small mound so as to see more of an area, 230 rolled around and she came, but i had fallen asleep, but i woke up at about 5am, and waited b/c i was expeciting for her to come between 520 and 535 am. sure enough she did and people i am the proud owner of Leaping boots.
so pretty much she spawns roughly every 3 hours during the day and i even came back at 1130am to see if i was right, sure enough lizzy had just been there, so i hope this helps.

here my story. I had been running around that rock for over an hour had seen it once but i didn't get it and their was no drop, and i knew that even if i did get it i would probably die (was lvl10 rdm) so i'm waiting for my lvl25 thf friend to come, so he comes and hes there with me for like 10 min when he says that he spotted it (this is about 20 min after that first spot) but he didn't get it. But the person who did dies so he kills it and now we have a pair, count em, one pair of leaping boots, which we both want to wear. So we lot and i get them even though i couldn't get to the beast in time. We start to talk and agree that he can wear them till 30 and then i get them. So i now will get a pair of leaping boots.
I'm suprised that Monks can't use these things. I was all "oh man, I can toss out most of my pairs of boots when I get these!" Then I saw that MNK wasn't on the list. They're the only melee class that won't get to wear these things, and that bothers me a little.

Hehe, I said the same thing after I camped it for 4 days, and only found out the last day. I left and never came back.

I really want to know if you understand how much you just contradicted yourself. Your post (which was more of a ******** session) begins with a vulgar rant towards people who camp Leaping Lizzy for money, and you tell them how they could be spending their "wasted time" in better ways. Then, you go on to say that it's ok to camp Lizzy if you intend to wear the boots. If you ask me, spending hours and hours camping so you can use Leaping boots is exactly the same as spending hours for the gil, except instead you're wearing FAKE BOOTS ;) also, if you really think about it, every second we play this game is time taken from our lives that we can never get back, no matter what we're doing on it =P also, your grammar is pretty hideous. I'd like to finish by saying to you that the next time you want to complain because you suck at camping Notorious Monsters, do it where people actually care, because I doubt anyone on Allakhazam gives a damn that you can't beat Cmoney to Leaping Lizzy.

I was in South Gustaberg leveling as my 11 THF/5 WAR, mostly looking for vultures (fire crystals! yay!). After a few minutes of fighting I decided to move closer to where Lizzy spawns, since there are slightly higher level vultures/quadav/lizards there. I start fighting an amber quadav by the fireplace, and I see a lonely little rock lizard just standing there, minding its own business.
Me: "Wow, looks like no ones here. Oh look, a lizard."
*reads the name casually*
Me: "Leaping Lizzy? Yeah, good for you."
*realizes who it is*
Me: "...How about that."
It still took me a few seconds to realize Lizzy was right there, unclaimed. Then I freaked out. I disengaged with the quadav (who, for some reason, just kinda wandered away), and went crazy with my Provoke macro. When I claimed her, the only thing I could think was "why did I just do this? There's no way I can solo her right now," meanwhile my brother, who set his computer up within the same room, is going nuts as well. No one on my friend list was anywhere near me, and the campers who missed out just kinda watched, hoping I'd die.
After using my 2hr and bringing her to 3/4 of her health, I asked them if they would heal me, and got no response. When I was running low on health, I threatened to call for help. For those of you who don't know, calling for help on any mob makes it so killing the thing gets you NOTHING. And it can't be undone. My health gets to 10 HP, and after mentioning that I'd split the profit, I get no help.

A WAR provokes her and pulls out his axe, killing her in a few swings. Lizzy is dead, and no experience points were awarded. No drop, of course. Someone heals me and they all go back to killing rock lizards, and I just kinda stood there like the kid who doesn't want to believe he struck out on the final game in Little League or some other crazy analogy.
Moral of the story: Kill yourself. Lizzy and her friends Jack and the Emperor will no longer be a concern of yours, since you'll be a ghost and you can do neat stuff like opening cabinet doors and then shutting them.

me and my friend were hunting this, well i was just killing the lizzys as a nub at the time gaining exp and he poped and we grabbed him. luckly we got the boots and my friend ran off to bastok and i stayed hoping to get a lvl up. about 2 seconds later i seen lizzy pop again! i was resting at the time i immeditly got up and ran after him to dia but a WHM got him b4 me. :( im heading to bastok now to try again.

well my Leeping Lizzy camping story is sad but alike to all yours...
it started out with me a friend trying to camp traverls mantels for 2 nights both those nights we killed 3 spooks but no drops then on the last spook a PAL out of nowhere pulled it and got the drop (so he says) and left.... us beeing pisst-off we got whif of the leeping lizzy boots and decided to camp.. we got the the spot around 11p.m. was just me him and a few high lvls running around we had a plan for me to stay on the top and him in the middel and spam widescreen we did that for an hour or too then 1am rools by and no lizerd i started to get tierd and loosing all hope stoopid me decides to log off and go to bed... i start to log off 20 secs....15 secs.... 10 secs... and right at 5 secs not EVEN 2 feet away from me poped the leeping lizzy i couldent get up in time to get it becuase i just logged off :( i could not go to sleep that night at all.

Its very true people who hunt leaping lizzie r very rude.The other day I shouted "ne1 seen leaping lizzie"and sum MENTOR said"stop asking questions u gay *** ****** n00b".I was completley in shock.Most people who hunt her r very short tempered.
At Cerberus, Leaping Lizard is in pretty high demand lately (250K at the AH last time I checked). A lot of campers running around like crazy killing everything in sight. I had seen Leaping Lizard before. Spawned just beside me several times but I was too low level at that time to risk it.
So I finally decided that I needed the boots for my DRG and camped the same area where I usually saw it spawn. I was using my RDM32 job. A lot of people were running around looking for it. I just cover the very small area I think I should look at. Well, after 30 minutes guess who saw Leaping lizzy walking pretty close to me. Nobody else saw it. I used my Dia macro and it was my prey. Killed it and got the boots!!! This was my first try, I guess I was lucky.

I camped this critter all weekend, didn't even attempt to level in the least, and I do mean all weekend. I spammed widescan for periods of up to 5 hours w/ no spawn. During my stay @ F-8, Lizzy spawned 16 times, of which, 11 of them were mine 8o)
So after many attempts and hours of terrible boredom, that fateful 11th kill delivered unto me, the leaping boots.
Guess who's a happy boy?

Got a noob question... If you already have the boots on, can you get another pair? Reason Im asking is because I was helping a friend get a pair and he died, so I engaged lizzy afterwards hoping I can get the drop for him. Didnt get it though...

To give you a better answer, with Rare items, you can only have one of a certain Rare in any inventory, meaning if you have them in Storage, you can't have a pair in your Mog Safe or Item Pack. However, you can have 7 up for sale in AH or 8 in Delivery Box. If you have Leaping boots in Storage, Safe or Items and you kill Lizzy and she drops them, they go into the treasure pool, and unless you quickly get a party member with you, they disappear x_x if you want to keep your pair and camp for a pair to sell, send the pair you have now to your delivery box, that's how I do it when I camp Lizzy, works nicely.
the answer is no, if you have them equipped you cannot get another pair. They are rare which means only 1 can be in inventory at a time or in safe. However Ah sales while gettting them are a whole other story.
Some of you think you are really lucky and some of you think you are really unlucky, well its time for me to prove both sides wrong. I know a lvl 50war/rng camper, and guess what, he has gotten boots 5/8 times. Yes i said it 5/8 times. It annoys me because i am 1/37 on boots, and the one time i got boots i was with a party because i was bored. Well anyways if your on Pandemonium server list your name here, and i might msg you ingame with my name. I can get a person boots even with 10 other **** nearby. Out of those 37 times i killed lizzy, i only missed getting lizzy twice. Which means im 37/39 on lizzy spawn to killing rate. So if you need help to learn the tricks ill give you the info i know how to improve your camp rate for 25k gil(roughly 1/10 the price boots sell for on Pandemonium.) (btw one of those two times i didnt get boots was because my LS wanted to steal lizzy from me.)

Next, about campers being rude, I havent really seen many extremely rude campers before. I have never camped Leaping Lizzy ever before, i always saw like 10 people around there so i just forgot about it but today after farming and returning to sell my items i got a really really lucky break. On my chocobo i thought i might as well take a look around and what do you know, Leaping Lizzy siting right in front of me with noone near so i jumped right off my chocobo and got dia on it and got the drop. Don't hate me but i've seen this nm 2 times and this is my first time ever to try and kill it and i got the drop. :)

yea ppl who camp lizzy tend to be rude. I don't camp any lv. 10 NMs anymore, I know i'll never get the drop anyways lol and I don't want to deal with all the other campers.

Thought I'd share my camping story.
I have camped Lizzy a total of 10 times. Usually for no more than an hour or two a piece. In those 10 times, I have now found Lizzy 13 times, and I have killed her 10 of those 13 times. The point behind this is that I still have not gotten the boots, they just don't seem to like me enough to drop. I feel that this NM is a bit overcamped, as the last few times, the area was plauged with people, all seeking Lizzy and all being rather rude.
Now, the last time I camped, there were many ppl in the area that were 60+ and one single person that was in the area that was only level 6 leveling his character. A couple times, he got into trouble, asked for help, and each time I was the only person that seemed to want to help him out. I watched from a distance though as time after time the monsters he was trying to kill (keep in mind these aren't even Rock Lizards) were stolen by one of the campers or another. In frustration, he asked if they would be so kind as to not steal the vultures and saplings, since he was just trying to level and was told by multiple campers that if he didn't like it, he should level somewhere else.
Now how rude is that?
Here's this guy that's just trying to level, leaving the lizards alone and really only on the fringes of the spawn area and he's being told by the campers to get lost. It seems that lately, the campers have become a little too rude for my own liking, and they are not making the game very enjoyable. So, I've given up Lizzy camping, and urge the other campers out there to be kind to your low level friends. Good luck on the hunt!

I was partying today trying to get some boots for my Ninja job. Got there around 6:30 p.m. est time, and waited for a while. Ran circles, checked widescan, did all the good things you do when camping. 7:30 rolls around...and still no Lizzy, so i'm like, where is she? 8:30 comes and still no Lizzy, i'm like...wtf? So I said ***** it and left. 0/1 on camping Lizzy, ; ;

I'm just wondering, will the difference between Treasure Hunter II and Treasure Hunter I be quite substantial? If so, then could you tell your opinion how many kills it would take to get boots using Treasure Hunter II compared to Treasure Hunter I.
a fellow camper told me that in an update we al had to download about 4 months ago....

great stories folks. I've just decided to start a new character and i intend on getting Leaping boots, Rabbit Charm an a hopeful Traveler's mantle, plus i already got martial slacks and well.. had light soleas. Good luck to you all and hopefully i can get them someday. But I remember a post earlier, and i feel the same way. For something so rare and valuable, I wouldn't sell it because its usable for a long time, and when I'm done im sure a friend could use it, unless of course something drastic happens and i need 200k badly, but thats real real real rare. Especially when i can do quests to get stuff over 10k, plus im already a thf, plus im gonna do more crafting, plus ill be doing quests.. so money wont be hard to obtain by the time leaping boots lose their worth to me as equipment.

sick of hearings "drop rates" they are sort of random... not a % figured out, you can make an estimate but dont say "OK SHE IS A 5% DROP RATE FOR SURE!" because ppl have gotten the bots more then once... and that = out to more then 5% if you only killed it twice out of 10 times... hey guess what thats 20 /shocked

u know what i love .......... if u bo to a leaping lizzy spot try this one out...... wait for about 10 ppl to get there then run around the rock and dont stop ..... ppl stop standing in one spot and they run around too.... then u stop and watch them .... the good thing about this is that if u stand there u might not hav the full area to yr self but they have one hav moving u dont..... u hav both hands free to lock in and use yr voke or dia on it if yr a mage....... and its a plus to see ppl run around with there heads choped off........
