I have seen this "Sgtsillypants" and I believe he is on my server, Cerberus. There, there are times when it is more than 1 mil, or at least I have seen such. I sold my boots and split it w/ a friend for 300k. Went up to 900k a few months later...There the price varies greatly.

well i was told this by someone on my LS, who has camped the LL a lot. She said in her expirence it has been anywhere from 6 min to 6 hours but on average about an 1 1/2 hours

Well, one day I'm bored and decide to go for Leaping Boots. I know I have little chance since I am on the Alexander Server and Spud is almost always camping. I do /sea all Spud and notice he isn't on, so I head to S. Gustaburg. I get there and remember reading that anything can be a place-holder, and decide to stay in one spot killing placeholders. Btw, I did this as a PLD/WAR so no Widescan. Well, I see someone close to where I am standing, and they start running up and down the East side of the mountain where Lizzy spawns. I decide to check the other side to see if it spawned. It didn't. When I returned I see an unclaimed Lizzy just standing there. I hit my Provoke macro and hear flee go off somewhere. I kill Lizzy in about 4 hits, but no drop.
Whatever, it will spawn again and I didn't think I would get the boots anyway. So, I am talking to someone else who is camping it, and we tell eachother we will let the other one know if it spawns. I do a /sea all Spud again and this time he is on. I wait there for 3 hours before the other person replies "Lizzy spawned right next to me and I got claim! Spud almost beat me to it though, man, he is fast!" Well, no drop this time either, and by now I was really bored and logged off, and have yet to camp Lizzy again.
Anyway, the point is, you DO NOT need Widescan.

Well..I'm planning on using wide scan if I hunt this NM but I'll prolly use bst. I'ts not really that much smaller s scan than rng's riiiiight??

WideScan is a need... you can camp Leaping Lizzy with WideScan, but what if it doesn't spawn near you and you didn't know it spawned on the other side of the position?

who here is on the asura server and has seen the recent price jump on all NM drops, when i left 2 months ago these boots were 300k i came back and they were 650-700k, not even 3 weeks later the price jumped again, people are PAYING 1mil for these boots, all i can say is i am glad i got them for free long ago ^^ they were 200k when i got mine from liz, glad i held on to them XD

My best friend in RL and FFXI got me these boots for my birthday. ^_^ He rocks.
Just wanna know, what's the spawn rate for Lizzy? I plan on trying to hit her at least twice, once for my own boots, and a second time for some cash. Reading everyone else's tatics is a great help too BTW. I'll start training myself to mash my Steal macro like a madwoman. I'm so freaking poor... can't afford nice new weapons T_T
Remember, since they are rare you need to make sure the boots are not in your inventory or in your mob house when your trying to get the second set.

id say the spawn time is around 1 to 2 hrs. killing Rock Lizards helps speed up time too cause they are the placeholders for the thing.

Recently I was in a card party looking for the cards for the new event and we were looking in S. Gusta and we see LL pop. I was only lvl 8 and my friend was like 9 the lvl 50 something guy with us left to go trade in his cards. Needless to say we grabbed her and she pawned us. I think we got her to like 3/4 hp or something. It was the biggest rush hearing my friend say he grabbed LL. I was like are you ????ing kidding. Was pretty funny because their was like 6 or 7 ppl camping it too.

I did the same thing but I was a level 39 BLM and it was a slaughter, picked up a nice pair of 470k boots ^_^. Next pop the leader of my party found her and got another pair...it was just wrong but so funny.
I hunt this NM regularly...forgive me for devulging secrets but, I'm sure people would figure this out for themselves anyway ^^ Sometimes I hunt her as a THF/RNG, and other times as a THF/WAR (equally effective is a high level THF with MNK subbed). What I pick as a subjob depends on the group of people hunting her.
Lots of low level people? Sub ranger in my opinion, they tend to overlook the lizzy when she pops in strange areas, and you will most often have enough time to get to her with Flee and Steal before someone tries to run over to her and claim her by shooting am arrow with 180-240 delay ><
If there are many higher level people or even another THF/RNG, your best bet is to sub warrior or monk and team up with another THF/WAR friend for a 50-50 split in profits. Just keep running around a certain area and voking as needed.
The last circumstance involves a combination of the two groups of people. If there are low levels running around but you notice one (or maybe two) lonely THF/RNG spamming widescan, just sub your ranger. Use scan, then pan around your character (that darn lizzy has popped behind me several times). Be very aware of your surroundings, and you will have a very good chance of getting her.
Just remember, she's not as hard as everyone thinks she is, and the boots are NOT worth a rediculous 600K!!! I got my boots from her without too much effort, and farming just to make money for the botters and gil sellers IS NOT WORTH IT! So, I may have more competition the next time I try to get the boots for my boyfriend's character, but at least people will be tring to get the boots fairly rather than spending their hard-earned gil so some crooked gil sellers can cheat! Happy hunting everyone!

Might as well put my two cents in. I've just started camping LL not long ago, and when ever she spawns, its one of the biggest rushes ever for me ^^. Anywho, my second encounter with the liz was rather annoying. I was gonna log on and check the AH to see if my items had sold from the night before, when I emembered where logged at in S. Gusty. I pull up wide scan as a 30 MNK/RNG and sure enough, there she was, right behind me. I ready the pebbles and prepare to throw whne for some sake of my poor luck, my controler gets stuck on auto run. throw fails to activate... and a higher lvl MNK with kote, pin, AND boots is engaged already. He gets the drop, claims he was just passing through, and says that he hopes his bro zones soon. >< To this day, no drop for me. Names Carson on Asura, and I'm 0/4 and royal ticked ^^

So I'm wandering through S. Gustaberg looking for cards on Ramuh server, and what do I see just pass a group of lvl 50's in a pt slaughtering everything in the area? Is that leaping lizzy? Couldn't be. My heart skips a few beats. No one is near the NM. I throw my 16thf boomerang, and I fail, because i moved. I do it again. I fail again. I was sure someone else had noticed by now. I threw one last time. MISS! But it got her attention, oh yes it did. The battle was on. I spammed my LS with messages like "OMG OMG OMGOMG!!!! I'm actually fighting LIZZY!" They reply with a bunch of (Congratulations!)!!! A high level whm nearby notices that I am fighting Lizzy, and being lvl16, it was an easy fight, so he sat back and watched. At the end he /clap'd, and asked if I got the boots. I checked the item drop..... AND I GOT THE BOOTS! Lvl 16 Thf, no SJ, Rank 2 Bastok, been playing the game less than a month and I get leaping boots. Free of charge. First NM fight for me too! Fear treasure hunter!

God my luck with Leaping Lizzy is terrible... as I'm sure it is with everyone else, except a select few. I've camped her and every time, even though I don't have WS I manage to get her... I don't know why I guess in that aspect I'm lucky... BUT out of 12 times, I have yet to get those damn boots >.<;;
I love it when people say it's a waste of time for me to camp since I don't have WS though, makes me feel like I'm better than them. I'll keep them once I get them as a trophy to my pain and anguish... I'm on Alexander as Emos and Bahamut as Worutaa if anyone wants to send a tell I'll be glad to hear from you.

The price on the hairpin is going up about 10k per sale. Last time I checked, 5 out of the 10 sales in the Jeuno Price history were sold by one of the "Kiss..." players. There are 4 of them that are constantly in Valkurm camping the Emperor, with the exception of the 45 minute to hour logout after spawn. They seem to be played in pairs, but whether it is two or four people, I am not certain. I am reasonably sure that they are Chinese though. Yay for legal loopholes. There is also a team hunting the boots quite frequently that each have names starting with "AA" "BB" "CC" "DD" and so on...
Due to the price of NM drops on this server lately, including the ones that I have listed but most specifically any ranger or thief item type drops, the server is suffering systemic inflation. This is doubtlessly affecting the price of everything from ore to crystals to mundane items. Ore has had a several wierd spells of flooding of market and then being dry from lack of demand, in turn affecting AH posting. Occasionally iron ore have spiked to 800 and sometimes even 900 gil. We all know that Iron Ore is NOT HARD TO MINE. Cyrstals have got to a disatrous price. 6k a stack for fire crystals seems to be pushing it, imo. Earth Crystals have broke the 1k mark easily, sometimes receding to 8 or 9-hundred. Synthesis ingrediant drop items are nothing short of astounding. Silk is going for 12k a stack, Animal Glue for 13k, Beeswax for 20k, Beehive Chips are now 5-6k a stack.
Another thing affected by the recent Chinese interest in NM drop hunting is the inflated price of the millionaire's desk, 200k two months previously, now going for 1-1.5 million gil. One could speculate, however, that it wasn't helpful for Buymyfood, a little jerk taru, to be shouting its hidden abilities in Jeuno for a couple of weeks, trying to sell it for 1.5 million when it was still only selling on the AH for 200. Maybe I should fill somebody's Delivery box with rotten meat...
If you are on Seraph and want advice (and this is going to require your selflessness and benevolence) my suggestions are, but are not limited to, the following measures:
* Don't buy NM drops. Do not support these criminals. Only buy from somebody you know or somebody you are sure isn't selling high-priced items for the wrong reasons.
* Look at Bazaars before the AH. Normally, immobile Bazaars just irritate me, particularly those in Southern San D'oria, which is entirely populated by them. They should, however, provide an occasionally better alternative than the AH prices, if it is gouged and the items are available in Bazaars. This goes particularly for Ore.
* Do not pay more gil for anything than what it is worth. If worse comes to worse, particularly with ingrediants, you can just farm them. I know that it takes more time, but I would rather do my own farming than pay someone a ridiculous cost for easily farmed items.
* Sell items only for what they are worth. Simply: don't add to the problem.
* Lastly: When NM hunting, remember who you should be friendly to and who you should make feel entirely unwelcome. Camping for gilselling is a job like any other, and if there is enough negative energy created for these people while they are doing their job, they may find the job too stressful when combined with the regular stress of NM hunting and just up and quit. It is possible. Conversely, find solidarity with your honest competition. Remember who the bad guys are, and who are your fellow victims.

Dec 22 2004 walking back to my home town of Bastok to change back into Monk. As i come across the area of the NM none as Leaping Lizzy, i think to myself "Hmmm... why not just run by and see if its around, even though i have no chance in hell". I see someone i helped out in getting Leaping Lizzy, i stop and wave to him asking if hes had any luck. No respons so i contenue on walking to town and there it is not to far away, Leaping Lizzy!!! As i run to it i panic and pull out my sword, I have no way to instently grab it so I run to it. As i look around running to it theres many people around but no ones going to it. I get excited and run even closer. Only being a lvl 13 Thief I know i have very little chance in getting the Leaping Boots, but this dosnt matter there it is in front of me. Two seconds away from taking my first slash at it, it happens .......... a range attack from in front of me, one of the people just standing around. They grab it take one slash at it and Leaping Lizzy falls to the ground. Being angry and sad all at once I ask them "did it drop .... (reply) nope ...." now being somewhat glad no one got it. I still feel angry and sad.

SE please make this item RARE/EX so level 75 THF/RNG don't go camping it since they're bored and don't need it. Some of us actually do. I'm kidding (kind of) but so many people that could make money otherwise camp it. I'm sure you guys know what it's like to camp something for 10+ hours and go home empty-handed :P

I really dont want to camp this but i would love to be spiffed out with emp. and leaping for my theif... can anyone tell me there average camp times for this to spawn?
Spawn times is random. Can take from 5 minutes to 3 hours for next spawn.

Actually I've seen a increase in the amount of lizzy spawns. Maybe just a random thing but I think they increased in the spawn rate. Just a speculation
