Would a lvl 15 thf/war be able to solo LL without to much difficulty?
sure but it would be tough...
the odds of drop however are much better with the closeness in her level and yours.

It's fun to read about people's encounters with lizzy. People are happy, pissed, excited, bored, etc. To some lizzy is an example of extreme frustration and wasted time. But some people like me, are just lucky bastards.
My story goes like this...
I had just finished the DRG quest and was very excited about starting my new job. I was just about to go on to the field and kill my first rabbit in San'Doria when it struck me... "Level 7 isn't that far away! I need those boots." I had heard horror stories of people being like 0/30 and such numbers as those, so u might guess i was thinkin, "Oh boy, this is gonna take forever!" And i was. I was prepared for a loooooong time of wasted camping on a highly desired NM. I mean, i had just gotten my DRG job!! I wanted to bust some bunny skulls!! But no, my desire to be the best i can be propelled me to but my DRG desires on hold to complete this boring-as-hell task of an NM hunt.
Now, this was my first time ever attempting a NM hunt. It was 700pm EST, and i camped her till 930pm EST. There were all these high lvl people around with flee and widescan and pshh u name it, i was so discouraged, but i continued! 3 and 1/2 hours later alot of those people left, and it was just me and a THF/RNG. I was using my lvl 30 WAR/MNK. So i was just runnin around, killin rock lizards for 3 hours gettin all bored, and there were times when i thought i saw her but didn't and my heart rate went up just to realize it was only another rock lizard. Then in the distance i saw 2 rock lizards. So naturally i engage the one that was closest to me when all of a sudden i realized that the one behind the one i had just engaged was non other than Leaping Lizzy!! I pressed CTL-A as fast as i could to disengage the rock lizard and started running towards lizzy as the THF/RNG was as well. The THF had his boomerang out, arm cocked rdy to throw it when my /ja "Provoke" <t> macro came flying down to see the name Leaping Lizzy turn RED!!! My heart pumping, i killed it, got the boots, was so excited, and later the guy told me that he had been there for 12 days!!! I was like holy crap! I felt so bad. And the other thing was that 2min before, he had used his flee macro and the cool down time wasnt over yet! I was so lucky. First time to even ever see an NM and i get the drop on the first try. 1/1. Perfect record.

the leaping boots are definitely worth it at lower levels for thieves, ninjas, and any other classes that participate in melee type combat. The post about humes is pretty true, but as an elvann, I found it worthwile to camp the boots and find a japanese high leveled crafter that is willing to take the risk in making winged boots provided that you are prepared with the lizard skin and earth crystal for the synthesis. when i leveled enough, i did this and was able to use the winged boots later. Not a bad deal! The boots are worth a ton on the cerberus server and I am using the +3 dex and agi on the boots till i get the af gear.

This post will only help if your Hume. If you are Hume and working your way up as Ninja then this post is for you. Why spend money or even time on camping these boots when at level 29, you can get RSE boots (Custom Boots). They are almost equivalent to the Winged Boots (Leaping Boots +1) minus the dex. The Custom Boots are (Def: 5 HP: 4 MP: 12 DEX: -1 AGI: 3 INT: 3 MND: -1) and the Winged Boots are (Def: 5 DEX: 3 AGI: 3). Plus the +3 INT will help your Ninja magic. If anyone can suggest better boots pls reply. I am 43NIN/21WAR.

I nvr knew that hume boots were almost similar to the Winged Boots or Leaping Boots.

well the secong time i fought Lizzy i got drop, i always go as LVL 15thf/7rng, but now i am 1/12 on her it seems like she does not want to drop again for me......

Here's the lowdown on the stats that most people should know: DEX affects physical attack accuracy and critical hit rate; AGI affects ranged accuracy and maybe its critical hit rate as well. Mighty fine footwear here.
Partly right...
DEX effects sneak attack damage, and slightly effects the accuracy of physical attacks. It also increases the chance of scoring a critical hit.
AGI effects ranged attack accuracy, shield block/parry, trick attack damage, slightly effects evasion, and reduces the chance that you will be hit for a critical hit.
But if you want accuracy or evasion, stacking up on dexterity and agility are not as effective as equipping + accuracy and + evasion items.

Is there a certain position that it spawns at?
Got mine first try, was riding through Gustaberg and I always slow down and have a look around for this Lizzard . This time I saw it , targeted it , and attacked and killed it,got the drop too. My inventory was full and I forgot all about it being full . I almost lost the boots !!!! Then I remembered about my inventory being full , so I dropped 12 Latheine cabbages , I was on my way to Selbina to do the Fame building quest . Then I sold the boots for 370k and spent all the money on new spells , new gear and all the teleport scrolls . It was a great weekend , lol .

My friend has camped lizzy for 2 weeks and killed her 12 times and never got the drop. She will be mad when I tell her some of you guys got the boots first try.
By the way being a thief and using treasure hunter raises your chances of getting the boots alot.

i got my pair of Leaping boots today, i camped LL for 1- 2 hours, i was getting sooo bored, i was about to log,PLus NONE was camping LL but me, it was the best thing taht happen yet -_-,so i was just about to log then, I used wide scan one more time, then waht do u know??!?! LEAPING LIZZY appears, i toke my time, got to her voked, killed it and got the drop. ^^ i got 2 pairs in 2 days =D. im 2-4 on her.

I don't know if it helps but recently me and my static hit 20, and we all needed new equipment. We were all broke, so we decided to camp lizzy. I went as thf15/war9 (only to use voke). After about 10 minites of wandering around, it apeared infront of me, provoked it fought it killed it. One pair of leaping boots please. We were their 10 minites, first lizzy fought we got a drop. That makes me 1/2 but for the person who camped it with me 1/1. So i dunno if TH1 helped with it, most say it doesn't but for now. I'm in favour of yes it does help.
Whats so special about these boots? why are they 300k?
An uncommon item equippable at a low level that's an NM drop which isn't guaranteed measures up to high cost.
Plus, they can be used to make Winged Boots, or more importantly, the +1 version.
Personally I'd rather keep the Leaping Boots ^.^ An extra 2 or 3 def isn't worth losing the ability to equip these when levelling lower jobs.
However, that _is_ worth doing if you want to wear these when you camp, since if you're wearing Winged Boots, you can still get the Leaping Boots drop.

I don't see what's so great either. Was recently shopping for dex increasing items. found these and nearly had a freaking heart attack when i saw the price. Why does evrything that a nm drops have to stay rooted at ungodly levels in the ah? With all the people camping these nms wouldn't it make sense that as supply increases the price should gradually decrease?
well the +3 dex and agi is good and it's only lvl 7. Thats a low lvl to be getting +3 dex and agi

When i got my pair. Before selling them i decided to try them out. My sneak attack in that area did around 80. With them on it made it alot higher(past 110). Also DEX+3 at that level is very nice.

i've killed the lizzie 18 times, not one drop.....
Can a thf/rng do Eagle Eye Shot?
I don't think so, since the Eagle Eye Shot is the RNG 2-hr and you only use the 2-hr of you main job.

Okay. I've spent a LOT of time, well for me it's a lot of time, I'm sure there are others who've spent a lot more time than I, hunting Leaping Lizzy. I'm at the point where just seeing the name "Leaping Lizzy" raises my blood pressure, my heart rate, and my anxiety levels. I have killed this Leaping Lizard now over 20 times. I have killed her about 29 times now to give you an idea of my ability to hunt her. I don't have a 100% spawn > kill rate, but i think through the noticing of paterns, I think I was able to give myself an edge whilst hunting this nm. Since I just got my pair of leaping boots, yes I'm 1/29, I'm gonna share what I believe to be true about her spawn habits, and what might help you actually claim this crazy lizard.
1st Widescan pros and cons
I prefer the widescan method, for 2 reasons. The first and least obvious, is for your stress levels. I've been there with my 18nin/9 war just poking around, and seeing if she spawns, when she spawned near me, I had a chance, when she spawned far, I only knew if she spawned if someone shouted "Drop?". Therefore, I believe widescan was better for the mere fact that I know when she has spawned, and when she hasn't. It also allowed me to collect further information on her spawning habits, as I always know exactly when and where she spawned. 2nd reason is the fact that once you see her on widescan, you can make a b-line to her. Which means you don't waste time when she is up, this is what makes 25thf/rng and up so deadly at hunting lizzy. I spent most of my time hunting her as thf/rng usually a low lvl sub, b/c I wanted to get the boots for my ranger. I actually got Lizzy, because of a neat little trick I learned. It was as follows /ja "Eagle Eye Shot" <scan> this allows you to not even have to target her, just smash the macro and run in her direction. I got her, did 812 dmg in one hit, killed her, and got the boots.
Her spawning tendencies.
She has a tendency, not a rule, not to spawn in the same place consecutively. It also seems that if she spawns on one side of the tall mound, she'll usually spawns on the opposite side the next spawn. Now that I have my boots, I'm a happy Ranger, and I didn't have to farm all that gil that could go to arrows.
I hope this helps all would be hunter's of Lizzy.
By the way, ALL but 1 of my LL kills, had Treasure hunter 1 and my record was 1/29
On a side note, the first time I saw lizzy I was 6 rng, and no one was around, I KNEW I had no chance, but it's only a marginal XP loss, so I tried it, and died. I proceded to pound her 27 times in a row w/ thf, then once with rng/nin and on my 29th try 31rng/thf. I think dying to her as rng put a curse on me, that I could not get the drop from her, until my RNG got it's revenge. Now that's just a thought, not what I ACTUALLy believe.

Wait what? I didnt think you could use Eagle Eye Shot as a thf with rng sub... How is that possible, or did you just forget to mention you were rng/thf?
You can't use any 2hrs of a subjob. He must have meant the time he went as a RNG/THF.

OMG 2/8, must be nice, I've never actually camped lizzie, but when i was a noob, (lvl13 thf) I shoutes "whats leepin lizzy" thinking i would be original, finding out later i was not, after many tells i started to talk to someone camping her... then bam! she spawned on top of me. So i attacked her andgave the player i was talking to a tel sayin "omg here it is for real" she didnt believe me untill i gave another tell. She told me as a 13thf no sub i should have got my *** kicked. But i wasted her and no drop. I have also seen her spawn, standing perfectly still i pulled out my ranged weapon. "You move and inturupt your aim." i was pissed as i pulled it out again and saw it turn purple do too a voke... not counting that one im 0/4 on lizzie =(

Sucks camping to get this though. I always see high lvl players camped ontop of rocks waitin for it. I still havent seen the lizzy yet. Been to busy to bother at the momment. Maybe i`ll go try in a few minutes.

Again its a lotery pop,Most I've been without seeing a pop is 5 hours,fastest was after I logged it spawned after I checked widescan twice...Soon after it spawned again 5 minutes later.

Only seen this lizzy once since i've been camping it, and high lvl THF/RNG beat me to it by a long shot. Before I even realized it spawned I was checking my widescan I see it then suddenly THF/RNG 60+ fleed and I was like, ****!, I pressed my flee button but it didn't work told me error and I started to run like a fool hoping to get to at least see it for once. Get there at the last second before THF/RNG WS and dead lizzy. I sent out /say asking if he got drop no response he just left. THen waited hour and 20 minutes for another spawn but it never spawned and I had to go. But i'm camping this ******* till I kill it or get drop.
