can this item be synthesized?
I had already done the quest for this, and I had another one from killing a hound on the way to dunes. I put it in my bazaar for 1K which is what they're worth in Shiva though price changes often. I end up at the Sandy auction house and an Elvaan girl examines my bazaar and /tells me if she could have the collar for free. I asked her why and she said its for a joke, but I said no after I explained to her what the item was for. She realized she didn't have the map and agreed to buy it from me lol

I had widescan in both n and s gustaberg and only found one black wolf. His position was in N Gust. by the waterfall on the left side, close to the npc Hunting Bear. It respawns every 2-3 hrs game time but the drop is fairly rare. Admittedly i didnt have thf subbed but still i didnt get the drop all night. My advice if u just want this for the map: let some other nugget waste their time getting the collar and just suck it up and buy it from the AH, but i guess it all depends on how valuable ur time is!! :D

I've heard from someone that this only drops off of Black Wolf mobs in North Gustaberg, and not the ones in South Gustaberg. I was wondering if that's true, or if it can be dropped in either region of Gustaberg.

Except for the Map of Gusgen mines this piece of equipment is totally Useless...
it even gives -1 CHR...you're better off with the Leather gorget as it's much cheaper and same def:1
personally i think waist/back armor are a steaming pile of horse s**t when you're low level (1-10).
when u get to the dunes and go party it's essential for good defense...as the enemies hit harder. my advice...only equip clothes and stuff on lower level...no need to spend bullsh*t gil on equipment that u sell on lvl 10 anyways...

any idea why this goes for 3000g on my server and is a rare item? is it for a certain quest?
