KEEP IT!!!
# Sep 23 2008 at 3:32 PM Rating: Decent
Our necklace (RNGs) is a beauty. It can be an end game piece, but I kinda like the Jagd gorget after 40. +1 in any RATT or RACC is great. I did the BCNM to get it though. I would not pay the huge gil that it might sell for.

So... Either do the BCNM or stick with the awesome RNG necklace. IMO lol

BTW.. always a good idea to keep your JSE around. Never know if you have to go to a capped area or level sync under your uber 75+ gear :)

Yeah there's perfectly good explanations for why someone would buy this.

Take my example:

I unlocked RNG and leveled it to 3, and then got caught up in leveling DRG, so I quit RNG for a while, so I sold mine to free up space.

But now I'm back into RNG again and will buy this off AH.

Do you normally make a habit of attacking players who posted stupid comments four years prior?

For the record, anyone spending more than 1-2k on this item was ripped off.

Just idiots who attack other for no reason. And for the record this person still post's so they will see this, doesnt matter when they did the post.

I'm thinking about doing this quest and becoming a Ranger. I won't work on it till I'm a lvl 60 DRG, though. It just seems like it'll cost a lot of money to be an effective ranger :/

Why not sell it
# Jul 27 2004 at 1:09 AM Rating: Decent
A perfectly good explaination for why this appears at the AH is that a ranger might decide to change to a different necklace, and sell their old one. Because STR adds to bow damage, a Spike Necklace could be a feasable alternative, or a Jagd Gorget at 40. Why keep the old items around if you're not going to use them?
RE: Why not KEEP IT

That added STR isn't worth having if you can't even hit your target. I would use Rings for added STR, but that's if I couldn't get a hold of a Ranged Accuracy + Ring.
RE: Why not KEEP IT

getting the rng.acc. rings is never a problem on my server. but availability aside, spike necklace is around lvl21 (i think, i'm not sure). at that point you can get beetle rings +1. so here's your options then: 2x beetle +1, and a spike necklace for a total of 8 rng.acc. 3 str, 3 dex OR 2x str rings and a rng. necklace for 5rng.acc. 5 rng. atk. , 4 str.

ok both setups have their advantages and disadvantages. i'd say that the former would be preferable pre30 b/c at that point the rng.acc. is harder to find. actually it would probably be best to use the beetle rings with the rng. necklace, b/c that's pretty much all the rng.acc. you're going to get. BUT once you have a pair of archer's at 27 (28?) that's +20 rng. acc. at that point, you might have enough rng.acc. that you could get away with wearing a spike necklace and 2 strength rings for a total of 7 str, 3 dex. and that could really help boost your damage. well maybe.

soooo, the only way to relaly know which setup is better would be to parse out fights with both. which i'm not gonna do b/c i'm not that serious a player (and beside my RNG is only a measle 12). but without real hard cold data it's sort of a power vs. accuracy thing. and the difference isn't that terribly big. trading 3 rng. acc. for 5 rng. atk. plus 1 extra strength sounds like a reasonalbe thing to do, but deciding to keep the extra rng. acc. also sounds liek a reasonable thing to do. so i'd say it comes down to individual playing style in this particular case.
Tiger Stole Vs. Rangers Necklace
# May 28 2004 at 3:50 PM Rating: Decent
Ok, I wanna do high damage with my bow, and dagger, high accuracy , and dexterity,

Should I use the ranger's Necklage or Tiger stole? plz help

I barely do damage with my Dagger as a THF (aside from Sneak/trick/viper).. If an Ranger were to wear a Tiger Sole instead of a Ranger's Necklace or Peacock Charm I'd have to slap them. All the + Ranged Acc and Ranged Atk you can get.. that's all u need.
huh ... ah?

It sells becaus if someone has done the RNG quest before they buy another one so they can sell it.
or they buy it so when they do the RNG quest they have 2 which one they could sell for a higher price.

The first post in this thread is right, there's little meaning in selling/buying this item since you get it when you get ranger, and only rangers can wear it...

You can NOT have 2 either on you or in mog house since it's Rare. Only thing that might make sense is you want to clear your inv for that 1 extra space for a while and then buy it back... o_O;
On a side note, I believe this item is the best item you get along with a job flag quest, +5 ranged accuracy + attack is huge.

if i was to do this quest, but not level my ranger immedeately, i'd sell this to the AH so it wasn't "wasting" space in my moghouse ;P
and then buy it back later when i got my ranger up to that level

Anyone know why this item sells at the AH? if only RNG can use it, and you get it by doing the RNG quest... why would someone buy it?
RE: huh... ah?

Because when asshats finish the RNG quest they're all like, "oh yeah, got this done..not gonna level RNG for a while," but once it comes that they actually DECIDE to level RNG, it changes to, "oh noez, where's my necklace? Gotta get one off of AH."
