if u can get rice ball price below 150 then u can get this quest.
basically, easier way is, if u can and already get utsusemi and tonko quests done, u can get this quest 100%. good luck

Uh, right. Rampaging Ram did about 55 damage to me at level 30. I didn't even bother to attack it back.

Well I was leveling up my PLD and was in a party of level 9-11.
We were in Konschtat Highlands when a Rampaging Ram spawned near us.
I convinced my party to kill it and told them not to be shy to use 2hr... well long story short we killed this thing WITHOUT using any 2hr, it also gave us like 180 exp.

i'm sorry, did i read ur post correctly, cause yell at me if i dont.
ur party of 6 people, from lv 9-11, kill a Notorious Monster that is lv 25-28, which is normally lv 35 at least for normal monster, without using any 2 hrs whatsoever?
so basically, 6 people of lv 11 kill a monster that is at least 10 lv higher (actually 20)?
i'm a rampaging and lamberg farmer, that is impossible. u must be killing tremor ram, same appearance, same earthquake making noise when they move around, and drop basically the same stuff, expect for the rampaging horn.

Heheh... I was messin around hunting horns and skins when i stumbled upon this one... I was level 35 and it was a rough battle at the time.... Had to use 2 hr ^^ Eh well.... 25 hp left at the end.
. Got my second horn by mistake. I was level 40 and I was getting a whm to escort him to jeuno.. it was his first time there... Does anyone know how much Fame this gives for Tensho-do? I want to get all my scrolls to sell.. I was inpatient and bought them all .. hehe

I too am curious about the fame. I need to get some fame for the scrolls but don't want to spend all my time on zinc ore and yagudo beaded necklaces. Anyone know how much fame is neaded for the quest, I have both horns in my safe and also how much fame it will give you?

Okay, someone said that this +4% Haste is on the attack delay. Can someone else confirm this? (And confirm it's not only going to work when you have haste cast on you?)
I am using the belt on my MNK at the moment. I'll admit I seem to attack pretty damned fast... but is it faster than without the belt? I really can't tell....

This is my theory now remember its only a theory it has to be tested. I believe you start with a latent 0% Haste(all jobs) and things that increase Haste increase it from 0% to the amount on the equipment. Now I could be false but I will test this when I get my mnk to 18.

I was lvl 30 monk when i solo the Ram and it is easy... i just buff and didn't even use my monk's 2hour....

the dam thing do petrified, and i know that it do them 3/5 battles. and please dont tell me it hit u less than it hit a lv 40 rng/nin with utsusemi. by the way im a galka, so dont tell me the race have anything to do with it.

Well, if he subbed RDM he'd get resist petrify, which admitedly, rarely does, and he is a monk after all. Everyone knows MNK/RDM is the pwnenest solo combo before BST.
Well...yes its very doubtful an nm could be killed with such a lvl gap...if anyone is gunna solo one at 25 its gunna be a Mnk with high def or a War with high dex...their 2hrs can even up a fight quickly.

I soloed it at my current lvl
It was one heck of a fight...dove head first into him....jumped off my chocobo....blew my 2 hr, hit all my buffs, including my monk's job's buffs, but not including defender or berserk, and prayed very hard...ended up with 145 hp, 4 ram skins, and a horn that, up until about 2 minutes ago, i had no idea what to do with...that said:
Sniberoot pry found a low end tremor ram and beat on him, barely escaping with his life...either that, or he just likes to make up stories...

LOL i love it when people argue... I soloed it last night. Im a 43/21 rdm/blm. It wasnt easy. I was almost full in health but my MP was slim to none because I was short 100MP from warping earlier, i jumped into battle in fear that . Plus I had to cast protect II and stoneskin after I had already gotten into battle. so there went another 50 or so mp.I had about 300MP to go at it. Glad I had Refresh. lol Got the Horn tho. :)

Do you Have to complete the Purple Belt quest before you are given the option to do the Brown Belt quest? Or is it simply based off Tenshodo Fame?
This is just a guess, but since the Black Belt quest (Beat around the Bush, ITS FREAKING HARD.) requires you to do Brown and Purple, I'm guessing you have to do Purple before you can do Brown.

well I solo'ed them both pretty easily at lvl 46/48 whm for lumbard/rampaging. Then again I've got all the best gear for my lvl pretty much so I'm sure that helped.
And I know a lvl 25 didn't take one of them out. The reason I fought lumbard in the first place was because an ls mate of mine died to him and I came to raise him, and he was lvl 28. He only got it down to like half, it was back to full by the time I got there.

i soloed rampaging ram at lvl 42 whm/2 rng and it was a nasty fight. I am a taru, have full RSE and was using my AF hammer. I used up all my MP and my 2hr on it, and only had 17 (seventeen) hp left when i killed it. It should be much easier for melee jobs, but it will be a nasty fight for you if you are a support job, or if you are a blm.

Rampaging Rams arent the same as a Tremmor Ram....thats probably what you killed in Highlands. Rampaging are much harder and rare.

I found Rampaging Ram today im level 38 bard and my bf is level 38 white mage and it was pretty hard i dont think i could have solo'ed it alone so i doubt u killed it :P oh and i got the RR horn :D

please tell me u are joking, i am a rng/nin with 2 hawkers knife and best possbile bow, killed it at lv 40 with my 2 hrs and pumped 20 arrows into it at least, get away with 100 hp left.
i am now lv 50+ rng and continue to help people kill lamberg and rampaging, and still get my hp drained away from 1/4 to nearly 1/2.
it people like u that make our efford look ridiculous.

does the 4% haste on the purple belt refer to the delay on H2H or running speed?

It's on the attack delay.
I sold mine last night for 15k (going AH price on Fenrir), now that I won't be playing the Monk any longer.

Though...me stating the obvious I hope... doesn't this seem backwards to get a lvl 18 belt at lvl 36? (However I personally will do a lot to get this, but there is a lvl 40 belt with more haste at the AH, unlike purple belt)

no way in hell...don't you know by now that nms are alot stronger than their level indicates? Lv 28? You can bet its as strong as probably a lv 35 mob. That thing will petrify you leaving you defenseless for a good 30 secs-2 mins and you will be dead. I wouldn't be surprised that thing would hit you once and took 1/4th of your life away.
He probably killed the normal ram, the one with the relatively high spawn rate.
