Traveler's Mantle  

Walked into the area earlier today, and i saw the spook. I remembered reading somewhere it drops something good. So i kill it, first attempt, POOF! One Traveler's Mantle! It's up for sale, for Gilgamesh, if anyone's interested :)

This item is a good one to have. Not to sell just to keep and use as you see fit. but it does sell for like 12k right now and it doesnt get camped alot so take advantage of this.

In my opinion this NM is great for low level characters, not just the NM but King Ranperres Tomb in general. First the Spook pops at 20:00 and 0:00 and if u kill the spook and all mobs around the tombstone befor 3:00 theres a chance for another pop between 3-4. Now three pops a day (again im my opinion) cancels out a bad drop rate im 36/80 over the course of a month and only spent 5 gaming sessions total camping this guy as MNK/SAM. On the low level side king ramps tomb is a great place to farm zinc ores and various materials gobbies drop for Clothcrafting. Hope this post builds up your spirits. Just hang in there i think alot of bad juju surrounding this NM comes form impatience and the ever so popular "I didnt get the claim they must be an RMT" scapegoat >.> N e way good luck

1 in 3 my ass, i just camped it 0/6 and 5 times in a row.

1/3 on this badboy so far... 51BLM i macro stun cause its a fast casting spell.... beat out all the THF's which is always fun! Lost one claim because it popped behind tomb stone and i couldn't see him. Pops between 20:00-0:400 and usually only pops twice a night to the right of the tombstone...

24/7 camper called Princey always logs in at 19:30 Vana'diel time and logs out at 04:30...
I think he's a bot (like in Diablo II)or something, because he's just answering with /em and I never saw him talking.

after 2 hours lfp as 62 mnk i get bored and figure i'll farm or something, so i look here and see this has an ok drop rate or at least a lot of good stories. i get here and there are 5 ppl campin it and only 1 was under 50 wtf

1/1 on this thing after a couple nights of no claims. :D Made me feel better after a week of camping Hoo Mjuu the Torrent with no drop...

I remember wearing this when the game first came out. I think it cost like 3k or something.

just got my 2nd mantle today (^^cheer^^) and i'm like 2/17 on this thing.......
i'm 36whm and just put up an easy macro that i spammed until i started casting it ><
got 2 claims in 2hrs and got drop on 2nd

btw, this sells for 100-130k at AH on Pandemonium last time i checked......it's been a while though

everybody on hades complains I know but i would be willing to pay 100K for this... however AH has it at 330K so not happening anytime soon tried camping earlier but didn't get a claim oh well better luck next time

look all the only way to get spook now is to click on him with a /wait macro and a ja after like /wait 1.5 /ja "Provoke" <t> as en example thats it thats all

They did and they changed the whole claiming thing it's a lot slower and yes less drop >.<

Last night I was thinking that I wanted to get one for my 16BST since I'm leveling it and I thought it would be a nice accessory. I went as a 46BLM/23WHM cuz I forgot to chang my sub to THF. I knew about the spawnrates and everything so I went over there. Got there at about 20:10 (missed the first pop) and there was only one other person camping it, most likely a 40s-50s THF since they had characteristic THF armor. I finally saw it spawn, hit my Stun macro, failed the first time cause I hit it too soon, amazingly the THF didnt move so I managed to get it off again, threw out a Thunder II it died in one hit and lo and behold I got my mantle. A second after I killed it, a SAM/WAR logged on right on the Spook's body and I thought that was pretty funny. I waited for the 3rd pop of the night, the SAM got it because I missed the timing on Stun, oh well. I was talking to my friend over voice chat, and he was saying "Oh I heard the drop rate for that kinda sucks" and not 2 seconds later I got it and laughed at him lol. Anyways just thought I'd share that with you, I think I got pretty lucky on several accounts there.

It is 90k in Sandy on Caitsith. Damn, I need to get this! lol

the latter requires u to b closer but is still good if u don't wanna b a war/thf or thf/war for TH and VOKE purposes

it's currently selling for 95-100k on Midgard, and that's not even in Jeuno o.O

I got this for the first time, a couple of weeks ago!!
I got fed up of camping Jaggedyeared Jack and the Leaping Lizzy, as the drop rate is poor to say the least (0/48 JJ and 0/16 LL!)

I was told this is a decent drop to get, and easy to camp. I got to Ramperres Tomb, and found the right spot, and stupidly had rng sub, thinking I would need wide scan to find it, but it is right in front of you, as soon as it pops, so you'd be better with war or bst for (charm/provoke)...

I had rdm main, and got the drop on the first attempt!! I thought it was a spawn @ 10pm, 12, and 4am, so got there early just to make sure, and just as well I did, as it popped @ 8PM, and I got the claim!!! /joy

So there is no NEED to have thf, although I understand it would help, and judging by my record on JagJack and the Lizzy, I should really consider levelling thf for camping nm's!! ><

The mantle is down to 60k on Pandemonium, so I'm keeping a hold of it until either the price goes back up, or I start levelling a different job again!

But just to lend a helping hand to those who havent camped this before:

Spawn times: 20:00, 0:00, 04:00...
And easy claim if you're war or bst...
Best camping spot I have found is to the left of the grave, beside the tree!! The spook always pops near here.

I have got my one claim, so I am not going to bother going back there.
It really p*sses me off when people continually camp NM's and you get no chance of claiming for yourself! Need of gil is one thing, but most things costing a lot of money are dropped anyway, so why not camp the drop you're going to end up buying anyway!!!?

Going as BST is always my preferred now, as charm seems to beat everything, If I'm quick @ getting the macro off, (....except for the time I actually managed to charm Stroper Chyme >< )!!!

on pheonix you can camp this for hours and you wont see any one.this travlers mantle is rare because no one know where it is so i make a good profit off these. 70k Pheonix about 1 drop every 3 spooks so my adverage per an hour is like 20 :)hahahahahahahah so to bad suckers

Up to 110k on Fairy, I camp regularly, I claim around 80% of the time. Today I got 2 mantles in the same night, and a 3rd the next night. /logoff.

someone help me please. I've camped this thing and present for 12 of his spawns but i havent gotten him once. I simply want one mantle for my pld and im on unicorn so if anyone can help me /tell killcom. Or any advice please post.
