Slime Oil WTH!!! Today i was crafting silent oils and tried to buy these from the ah and none were up or were over 20k per stack. Normal price is 12k-15k on odin but today they sudenly went up. Is this someone playing with the prices or is there a new item that can be made with these (chocobo medicins maybe). if anyone has any info pleas post.

Slime Oil does sell at AH - it is rather expensive. On Shiva server I think it is about 11,500 gil for a stack of 12.

These vials of slime oils drop quite frequently off of the Rancid Ooze in Gusgen Mines. Unfortunatly, they're tough little buggers. Like all slime, they are resilient to physical attacks. Be careful.

No, a NM is always, ALWAYS impossible to gauge...

according to lots of things ive read, in a ton of nm threads, and other as well, SE made it so all nms check as imp. to gauge. i could be wrong. just wanted to bring it to your attention. ^.^

Named Monsters ( Warchief Vatgit, Zhuu Buxu the Silent, etc. ) are able to be checked as normal, while Notorious Monsters ( Jaggedy-Eared Jack, Aquarius, hundreds of others ) will always check Impossible to Gauge.
In order to make this post somewhat relevant to the topic, however:
I seem to have the best luck getting Slime Oil by killing Jellies in Korroloka Tunnel. There is pretty stiff competition, usually, but the drop rate is very good. I usually sub THF to help.

NPC will only sell Slime Oil if Bastok is in first place.
No, she won't even sell them then.

I was fighting a Jelly near Altepa in that cave and found one of these.

Anybody know which critters to kill to get this item? Or where to find the lowest level slime critter?

There are occasionally Oil Slicks in the easier part of Ranguemont Pass (enter cave at NE corner of E. Ronfaure). Around level 8 or so but they are extremely resistant to physical attacks.

Yup, there's two spawn right there at the entrance. Easy kills, my lvl 19 THF was farming there, and even a lvl 10 WAR with decent equipment took one out, albeit with only 20% hp left. They are worth at least 1-2 lvl stronger thougher than what you'd think they are.

Kill the Goblin Gruell in king Ranapart's tomb. It's a NM (notorius Monster)

Goblin Gruel is a rare monster, not NM. NM scan as 'impossible to guage'. last time i killed gruel it was TWTBW.
