no crit/attack bonus

I got them when my MNK was like level 60. So, ive had them for like 10 months. Been able to use them for like 8 months. There is no attack bonus, no critical hit bonus. They are what they are, +10acc. Nothing more, nothing less.
Its an okay Kote

Just bought this Kote today for 10 mil on Hades. I've been looking for these for a while. I'm a 75 nin (Ishtaar) because I yet to own an O-hat, I thought I'd try these out. With my normal gear stats I have a Dex of 77 +20 (using nin AF gloves) and I haven't notice much difference in my over all hit accuracy with these equiped. Pretty much, this is a over priced aesthetic item. As for its usefulness, I'd say these be best recommended for Samurai's, primarily since they're fairly high delay. Monk's AF2 gloves are far better than these and Ochu's in my opinion. As for Nin, these are okay however there are plenty of cheaper options available.

Latent?

Did anyone ever follow-up on the idea of a latent boost to critical hit% and/or attack? I recently acquired these gloves and will attempt to test myself, using a parser. I will post the results.

EDIT: I went to Boyahda Tree and parsed a few battles against EP Robber Crabs. I kept all of my equipment constant except for switching Seiryu's Kote with Noritsune Kote. I fought 3 battles with one kote and 3 battles with the other kote. Perhaps this was not enough battles to come to any definite conclusions, but take this however you like: my tests produced *no* significant differences in average melee damage or critical hit rate from one kote to the other. If there is indeed some kind of latent effect on these gloves, perhaps they are triggered in some special way. But my tests did not seem to point to a hidden bonus of any kind.

accu build
# Oct 20 2005 at 10:13 AM Rating: Default
You can eat Attack food instead of sushi if you build accuracy very heavily. And if you have a brd. and your accuracy is ok double minuet + attack food >>> over sushi +double minuet.
For a nin you need around 50+ accuracy in order to eat attack food on exp mobs in sky and not miss often.
Hidden Effect
# Jun 25 2005 at 1:32 AM Rating: Decent
I'm Using this kote now for my NIN and i noticed an obvious increase in criticals as well as damage increase as compared to when i'm using Seiryu's Kote. I deduction is that there is a hidden latent effect for increase in crits as well as attack bonus. I guess its not really a Nin glove but i'm 100% sure MNKS and SAMS would own in this! Man this gloves is awesome i would never part with it for anything!
Critical Hit +%
# Jun 23 2005 at 4:32 AM Rating: Decent
Seems after much talk in the ls im in that two ninja's have noticed a rise in their Critical hit rate since recieving these kote. Will let you know what they find out after they test it but has anyone else noticed this?
Acc cap
# Feb 12 2005 at 6:03 AM Rating: Default
There is an Accuracy cap so if you focus on just accuracy its useless. Just thought i should let you know ^.^, these arent that good for ninja either since there is a +10 evasion gloves at 72.

As a SAM, you, especially, should know that DEX also raises the cap on Accuracy. So, if a player has enough DEX, any and all Accuracy is far from "useless," which means these kote are the uberness.

Edit: I do back you on your comment about NIN using something other than these. I agree.

Ive seen the 118 mill on Midgardsormr also.
It was Beru---> Beru for 118 mill.

He (Beru) also made a post for the Herald Gaiters, i think that was 250 mill, and that was only transaction. Now if he isnt a gilseller...

man, if a ninja managed to combine this with the following, it'd be the most accurate thing EVER!

daylight dagger (+12 during day)
nightmare sword (+12 at night)
optical hat (+10)
peacock charm (+10)
accurate earring x2 (+4)
scorpion harness +1 (+12)
noritsune kote (+10)
sniper's ring +1 x2 (+14)
agile mantle (+1)
life belt (+10)
shura haidate +1 (+8)
shura sune-ate +1 (+5)

total: Accuracy +96!!!!!

+20 attack is really quite ****** compared to the acc+, attk+ only affects damage resitance, you can have all the attack+ you want but the damage cap only raises with STR+.

sold on midgard for 118 million, heralds gaiters sold for 235 million :\
guy sold to himself of course
#REDACTED, Posted: Dec 08 2004 at 4:27 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) That is impossible. The highest Gil amount is 99,999,999 which is 99mil, just 1gil UNDER 100million. Not even possible to sell something that high I do believe, especially since, well, in Bazaars the maximum you can see is 99,999,999, and if Jeuno, add a +999,999 to that because of the tax. =p

No, it is definately possible to put things on the AH for more than 99,999,999. On Valefor, an Aristocrat's Coat (I think that's what it's called) sold for 100 million not too long ago.
RE: lol
# Dec 08 2004 at 5:52 AM Rating: Decent
99,999,999 is the most you can bazaar something for.

You can put something up on AH for 999,999,999, and also buy it for up to that much. 999 million is the actual gil cap.
Nice if you can get 'em...

Bear in mind that these drop from Tiamat.
Sometimes.

There has only been one set of these to ever have been sold on the Lakshmi server, and it sold for thirty million gil.

Yeah.

Personally i'd rather have Ochuido's Kote than this, +20 attack is better in my opinion and the acc can be made up for with various items. It also appears to look just like Ochuido's too so its nothing too special.
(peacock charm, sniper ring, life belt)

But if you're an NIN I spose its good since you get acc and def ( for tanking )

    # Nov 26 2004 at 6:42 PM Rating: Decent
Uh.... from what i have seen from the year that i have been playing ... +10 attack is worthless if you can't hit. also ... att is nothing without STR, every MNK or SAM i have PTed with that had the Kote didn't do any more DMG then the SAMs or MNKs that didn't have it.

You obviously haven't done any partying past level 60/65 ish. 10Accuracy from the Hands slot is tremendous... It will allow you to get up to +50ish accuracy (With enough money, of course) Which would be very, very nice indeed.

Ochido's Kote pales in comparison with this item. This is God's fury in stylish red gloves. If I had these I'd level MNK SAM or NIN to 70 just to use them.

    ...

I will never get these so long as I live, but I quiver at the thought of the immense power these give.

hmmm, there are better items that give you accuracy +10
    RE: Oh. My. God.
    # Oct 27 2004 at 2:43 PM Rating: Decent
Is there better items/equipment for your hands? because having more acc. is "pretty gewd" for a MNK using Asuran Fists. Also the more a SAM hits the faster they build TP ( faster TP = more WS per fight ) so i'd say these are good for a elvaan and anyone that feels they need the acc.

oh! and having +10 acc. on your hands lets you use other stat boosting equipment (EX: sniper rings for STR+ rings) ^^

I think there's two things at play there with the SAM/RNG idea. One is the passive Accuracy Bonus that Rangers have. The other is the fact that ranged attacks (when they hit) can get really nice TP. So a SAM with lots of Accuracy and that can shoot well too will build TP really quickly.

TBH, Seiryu's kote just flat out Pwns this for sam/rng. Agi+15 and Racc+ somethin or other. Sam/rng needs racc more than acc, especially if you're using multi hit weapons like soboro(you better be *shakes angry fist*).

The only beef I have with these gloves is its acc+10... and thats about it. Good for TP gain sure, but I think I'd still take hachiman over these, especially for the WS (duh).

These gloves are best used on HNM fights and whatnot, where you need all the acc in the world to land hits. I'd take these to my kirin fight anyday ^^
