I don't see this mentioned here, but I just learned (since I needed 357 points to break it [and I got 57 points in Dynamis tonight]) that you cannot use your weapon and expect to gain points for it in Dynamis. They will not count sadly.

Does it matter what WS you use? Cos I've been doing Flaming Arrow > Full Swing with a BLM (crappy I know lol, but we do our NPCs at the same time) for Fusion on EP mobs in CN, so I should get 2pts for each one right?

no, you only get one point, because the blm does the second move.

2nd part of skill chain, 2pt
3rd part of skill chain, 3pt
so it's to your benefit to close each time if you're trying to get the most points out of it.

1st off, thanks to previous posters for the helpful info. I'm just baffled that Alla still has no solid info about this weapon or NM. Yet, they do for the marksmanship.

do i have to get xp off the mobs i kill to break the latent effect?
Well, from what I read it seems you need to kill EP+ mobs.

For those of you that are wondering "Who do I speak to?" Here is the basic break down.
Speak with Perih Vashai, the Mithra that gave you your Rng quest, AF etc. Sadly, Rng have to be 72 to get thier Arhcery to 250, so don't bother talking to her until then.
Use your Bow until the Latent Effect Wears off, and then bring it back to Perih Vashai.
Head to G-7 of Cape Terrigan, there you click the ??? to Trigger the NM Stolas. Defeat it as stated in Previous Post, click the ??? again, and then head back to Perih Vashai.
She then grants you Empyreal Arrow.

Oh just an update, the bird attacks very fast. You'll need a balanced party of lvl 70+ to take it down.
Does 260+ dmg per hit to a lvl 66-67 NIN and RDM.
Does about 160-180 dmg a hit to a lvl 75 taru with 75 VIT and 305 DEF.
Ninja tank is NOT recommended as blinks will dissapear too fast... well at a ninja below 70 is not recommended anyway.
Gave 100 exp to a pt of 6 with lvl 75's. Sidewinder, barrage, EES takes off about 1/3 of the mob's HP if that's any indication of how much life it has...

After getting rid of the latent effect you need to spawn an NM bird in Cape Terrigan. Easy fight for a party of 6 lvl 70+.
