I've been looking over this thread and there is alot of wrong information. I can't believe it. 6100 Sandy currency is needed for this upgrade as well as Ast. of Fortitude. Once you turn in the currency and the Ast. You will need to wait about 3 days (real life) to pick up your lance.

Not only is the NM you fight 3 jobs DRG/SMN/BST he also has buddies in tower with him that are all the jobs he is. From the fight i think i counted 6 adds two of each job the nm is. So 2 smn, 2 drgs, and 2 bsts, not to mention their avatars, and the bst's pets. it's can get pretty hectic pretty fast. and if you think this upgrade comes without any currency your way off base

Stellar Fragments drop off of their respective Animated Weapon (Found in Dynamis - Xarcbard).
Attestations drop off of the NM shadows that have 3 jobs each, each of which have all of their 2 hours. I *think* it always drops atleast 1 Attestation, but it might not be the one you want. The Lance Attestation mob is DRG/BST/SMN

Are you sure it doesnt cost 64 m. silverpieces? Cuz thats the only part that keeps me from upgrading the lance... 64x3 mill= 192million gil

From celtic mythology. This spear which translates to "Lightning spear" was used by Lugh in a battle against the Fomorians (Phomiuna Aqueducts anyone). Pretty neat how SE gets all this stuff to tie together.
