I got this today. Basically, i've never seen anyone in-game with this ring or any of the other items from the NM that drops this in all my years of playing this game. Needless to say, it's very rare in my humble opinion. The reason for the rarity even today in June 2008 (years after this NM was put in the game) people still don't know the exact pop conditions for him. I made a nice a long post about my experience with Stubborn Dredvodd the forum for this NM. Go there if you want to read it.

I got this ring almost by accident while my friend and I were camping the flesh... <3 it though. +20mp without the -hp, it's good for rdm =)

So, after almost one year camping this m****r f****r sporadically, I eventually got the 3x drops tonite. I just wanted to share my joy & datas, then close this "Stubborn" case once for all ^^
POP datas:
Vanadiel 2/1/1011, Lightsday
New Moon (5%)
Dec. 6, 2006, 8.20pm
weather: sunny till 2pm, then a bit foggy
Stubborn pop right after the "Something blabla..." message, though I already saw him pop BEFORE or way AFTER (but always between midday - 2 pm).
NOTES:
- It was my 4th encounter with the NM (the first time he dropped me a Tathlum Belt / nothing the other times).
- I was ALONE on the barge and RESTING (well I happened to, though I already met him without doing so).
- It also happened to be my first "trip on the barge" after I logged in-game
- I was Red/Thf, with a Trump Crown on (though during our previous encounter I wore it as well, it didn't drop a damned thing), and, as usual, I finished the NM by using a "WS" ("Shining Blade" - SWRD)
- Interesting note; right after he called his Wyvern, I SWITCHED target to kill the wyvern, then switch back to Stubborn. He re-called another one soon after.
Sorry guys, I assume you'd expect me to give you the ONE TRICK to make him pop... and that I still do not know. In regard to my (long /sigh*) experience with this NM, I have NO CLUE at all about his Pop time (I'd guess he actually spawns completely randomly). I can just say our 2nd & 3rd encounters were only 1 week (RL) distant.
Well, GL to all of you (show this bastard he's not the only "stubborn" one in the place!!)
At last, I'm "free" of this f***n Barge!!!!

Whoohoo! A ring for my pld without -hp ^^
So after reading up on this ring I must admit I was a lil hesitent on starting my camping, but after 3 boat rides sunday night I gave up and decided to look into my other NM prospects for a bit, so after going 3/3 on the other NM's and drops I wanted for my whm( fasting ring, tortoise shield, mycophile cuffs) I was feeling lucky so I took another stab at it and 3 boat rides later...
*DRG jump sound* lol,i was on the phone and almost lost the claim cause I wasnt paying attention, luckily my only comp on the boat didnt have voke so I won claim and stomped him out and got the drop, tathlum and ring!!!!

Well started at 9:10pm and its now 3:20am and have not missed any boats yet.. Neither NM's have spawned.. not quite sure how long ill be able to hold up eheh.

riding around on the boat today, hoping vodyanoi would pop, this bitch jumps on the boat and im like "lolz, u die now k bish?" all he dropped was a damn tathlum belt >_<
Well, this NM definitely lives up to his name but I proved I'm more stubborn XD Spawned around 13:25 or so. It jumped onto the ship right around where it is in the picture below.

My DRK friend was fighting a water elemental when it jumped behind him. I don't know if the weather changed to lighting right as he spawned or not, didn't notice. Me and the other BLM were sitting on the sides, where you spawn and next to the annoying NPC. I'm starting to think you don't need to rest because it didn't go for the little resting tarus but the DRK fighting an elemental instead.
I had camped this guy for almost a complete 24 hours by myself without a single sighting even. I read somewhere that there is less of a chance to see him solo so I asked some friends to help. First trip it was just us 3 and nothing. The trip he spawned though, there were a total of 5 people, so maybe the amount of people on board does have something to do with it o.O Figure I'll just give all the info I can, if it might help someone else with it.
And finally... me with the ring on my SMN25 :D

As everyone has states, this ring is just about godly. My only problem is getting him to spawn >.<
I've camped this NM for about 30-35 hours total and I've never seen him. I didn't do it straight, but still. I camped him for 6-8 hour stretches several times. I've had friends camp him with other people taking turns for a total of 36 RL hours straight and never seen him spawn.
The worst part is, it isn't 100% guaranteed drop...
Anyone have better info on his spawn? >.<

The level of the ring is 25 to use...not 20...stats are +20mp +1 MND as stated above..

Saw this yesterday in Cape Terrigan on a Taru BLM, the MP+20 is right but I think its +1 INT not MND, I could be mistaken since he was swapping gear often.

You are mistaken. There are two MP+20 rare/ex rings, the Carect Ring (Lv.25 MP+20 MND+1) and Zoredonite Ring (Lv.56 MP+20 INT+1).

Well, thanks to Coca-cola™ I have been camping this NM along with the Doomed NM on this stupid for like...4 hours so far. It's 4:39 am right now and I'm on a quest to supply the people that want to see the item, a picture...which hopefully I will have soon for Alla to post for ya guys...wish me luck ~.~

I use a lot of /equip macros to rotate mp+ gear for def+ and vit+ gear, as a Galka Paladin.

o_O WOW. Ok, i'm impressed, a ring that can be used at lvl 25 with +mp equal to electrum rings AND a +1 mnd... Obviously designed for whms, it's PERFECT for them.
Quite possibly on par with astral rings, it's a new personal favorite of mine since it is rare/ex ^^ which means if you want it, you gotta go get one yourself! GL with this one everybody :P
