Has anyone figured out any recipe using this. It's found in the alchemy section so should be alchemy.

Got two of these in East Sarutabaruta while digging with my chocobo.

Papaka grass is used for the Chocobilious quest in Windurst Woods. The reward is 1500 gil! ^^
I hear that it's also used for Alchemy ((it being under the Alchemy section at the AH and all..)) ^^;

Wild Dhalmels in the Tahrongi Canyon randomly drop this as well

Also found on Wadi Hares, in the Gandulf Wadi west, southwest of Bastok. The Wadi Hares are on the second level of the Wadi, by using the spring guiser to reach it. I seem to get 1 in about every 5 killed.

you might have mistaken it for Gausbit Grass.
You're thinking of another type of grass - specifically, the one used for the Chocobo License quest. Having killed enough wadi hares to get both the 4 clumps of grass I needed for the Chocobo License quest along with 4 more for my partner, I can firmly state that the Wadi Hares do not drop papaka grass.
I have seen this drop in the Meritaphaud Mountains. I believe it was off of the Wandering Sapling.
