Alright, I like my gil just as much as the next person, but just because gausebit grass is used in the THF AF2 quest doesn't justify the price that the grass is on the AF!
THFs can farm it while doing the quest, it IS in Dangruf Wadi! More importantly, this is for the chocobo license, give the new players a break! I know that here on Diabolos the price isn't too bad at 5k a piece, where as on other servers it is 10k or more, but this is ridiculous everyone! New players that are wanting to get their chocobo license have to pay 15-20k to get it, and that is just wrong!
As someone had mentioned before, this is a community game, don't let greed come in the way of that. Flame me, rate me down for this, but that's my two cents... this coming from a 52THF who loves his gil... much better ways of making gil them to exploit the new players everyone.
y would some1 want to flame you about this? you are right in every way. i remember when i first started playing maybe 2 years ago they were only 1-2k a piece. i then changed servers about a year after i started and noticed they were 8k a piece. its outrageous.
ok... you are complaining for 3k or 4k.... i'd kill for that price... on hades the price is 14k..each so be thankful for what you have and stop complaining
Are you serious? Honestly, 4k gil for one grass on Phoenix server? I had a friend walk (yes, walk) from San D'oria to Jeuno just to get the choco liscense quest. All she wanted. spent 12k on the grass, and asked to borrow another 4k for the last one. I was lucky and had someone give me the items for my quest. I had no idea inflation was this bad. I agree with Chacharu. If you want to jack prices like that, don't do it to the new players who are still trying to get into the game. 16k was a week's worth of playtime to me at that level. When I come across the grass, i /shout and give it away when i don't want to sell on the AH, and even then i sell for no more than 200 gil. this is a game, you shouldn't have to work so hard for something so easy, and most the players trying to get their liscense don't know where to get the grass, and end up paying those ridiculous prices. this is a community game, let's try to help others, not ***** them out of what little cash they have.
I got five of these while leveling BST from 20-21, and since they don't stack and I have no use for them, I went to sell them...
The price-gougers on Odin have jacked these up to 3k a pop! I am absolutely disgusted. Anyone who needs this item is, I'm willing to bet, between level 18 and level 20 with no subjob. Oh yeah, I'm sure they've got 12k just laying around to blow on their choco license! Morons. GREEDY MORONS. All you're doing is forcing them to go and get the items themselves, and if they do, then you're SOL on the profit, huh?
So if you see these going for 900 Gil a piece on Odin all of the sudden and you don't like it...
*flips the finger* Then ***** you. I'M supplying until greedy people learn not to take advantage of others. Inflation is one thing, but these cost NOTHING to find and there's absolutely no reason for people to try to clean out the wallets of the newbies who just want their damn choco license.
I got an insane number of these from the Crane Flies in Meriphitaud when leveling my BST there. And that was without a THF sub. If you're at the level where you are leveling or farming off these things, you won't need them for the quest anymore, but it's a good source if you're looking to farm them to sell at AH.
Headed to Meriphataud Mountains, past the northern section of the Drogaroga's Spine. Most Crane Flies seem to spawn there. After 1 hour and 40 flies I ended up with 26 Clumps of Gausebit Wildgrass, plus a stack of Insect Wings, which I am gonna turn into Insect Fletchings. Indeed, the Gausebit Wildgrass drops very easily, from Crane Fly.
I would like to clear up some of the questions on the chocobo quest, which I feel were not answered properly. This item is the item for that quest, and the quest requires four of the grasses. Yes, the quest requires 6 visits to the choco stables, but only 4 of those visits will require you to use one of the grasses. The six visits must be spread apart by 1 game day, but the days do not have to be consecutive and you do not have to remain logged into the game or playonline in order for the quest to be completed. I hope this helps! btw, i'm on phoenix 51 war/ 37 nin 15 thf if anyone needs help with this send me a /tell
Yes, all 6 days do have to be consecutive, ive done this quest 6 times for all 6 of my characters, and helped my girlfriend do it for her 2 characters. she missed her last day and had to start all OVER... it sucked.
No, they do not have to be consecutive. I've fed the Chocobo, logged out, slept, ate, shaved, showered and logged back in days later only to continue where I left off.

hey if u dont want the grass send it to me if u dont want it i need it for my chocobo quest please?? my name is wolfdietrich if u want to get rid of it
hopefully you realize you need to be on the same server to do that... so asking for somebody to send you some without including your server name is... well... 'not likely to work' *grin*
Killed all Wadi Hare without a drop. Later farmed Meriphatud and flies dropped often (want to estimate 40% of time). In the Capitals the grass sells for 500gil, but in Jueno it sells for 1,000gil. This is on Bahamut.
