vomp hill in south gusta is great for farming these if you have TH I got wild O/beehive chips in about an hour easy 50k

They're 20K in Jeuno on Alexander as of Jan. 31 2k6, but I'm gonna try to do something about that. I have some friends you craft food and sometimes it isn't easy for the mats to come along so I'm gonna go farm some and lower the prices. Wish me luck. ^^
I can't believe the prices on these..there such and easy drop. I guess I should be glad I can farm them for easy gil but it still boggles me that people pay this much for something easily obtained. Yea I know if your crafting you just want to do it and get it done..but still.

These are brilliant to farm, they drop all the time off "Goblin Thugs" as well as Gil and other ncie tidbits. I reccomend King Ranperres Tomb, theres lots of NM and other stuff to farm there like Bat Wings, Bone Chips and Ascetics Rings.
These go for up to 15k a stack so its well worth your time! =)

I must agree that Windy's areas are the best for farming these. Thugs and Weavers in any area drop these, so far as I have found.
My server is messed up as far as Economy is concerned. (aren't they all?? lol) So Singles are around 300 mark and stacks are between 9-10k. Thats around triple value of the singles... Some newer players and I figure we will just level every job we have/can get to 10 farming these. Then cycle through the jobs again until the gobbies stop giving EXP. Thats Fire Crystals and Onions enough to pay for even our horrendously overpriced lower level items.

About 3 weeks ago the price a stack in Bastok on Cerberus was up to 12.5k a stack, put them in for 10k, took about 2hrs RL to sell, still sold for 12k, though.
The defense loss from the -6 VIT really doesn't make the 4 AGI seem worth it. Not worth it at all for a RNG... why have something that makes you hit more, but get hit harder.

Try the Horutoto Ruins entrance in East Sarutabaruta. The entrance east of Spiny Spipi is your best bet. Once you get the pop times down, there's something like 22 thugs that pop down here.
Even with competition, once you set a circuit, you should be able to get at least 2/3 to 3/4 of the thugs.

Dangruff wadi: Goblin Thugs drop onions as well Gustaberg: saplings and birds drop onions but this is RARE, realy extremely rare, so dont even waste ur time.
Well so far i made a pack in an hour in dangruff wadi, but i have to try Sarutabaruta.
for best results fertilize on the day of the crystal to basically "overfertilize", and up your chances of getting wild onions rather than water crystals..
As mentioned before, the Outer Horutoto Ruins in the most NW part of E Sarutabaruta are a great place to farm for onions. The place is very dense with goblin thugs and weavers. There's about 20 there I think. (Also, onions only drop from thugs, not weavers, but weavers drop cloth stuff you can sell, but at a much slower rate than onions) There's also a lot of bats around too that you can kill for bat wings to turn in at Sandoria to an NPC for fame/money or sell at the AH. All in all it's a great place to hunt for money or if you're looking to get onions quickly to make meat mithkabobs (You can get 12 onions really easily especially if you have a thf sub to 15)
Glad someone said it. There is 3 ruins which have many gobs for the plucking. onions currently 10k stack on fenrir. Also wanted to point out that the cooking guild does have these for sale from time to time. Think it relates to where windy is on the conquest pole and what day of the week. I have seen them there and they go for just under 800 gil but there is a very limited supply of them, and they sell out faster than arrowwood lumber unless overcamped. Oddly no one is camping the onions, and the price of cockatrice meat is dropping in response. I am loving it. meats are going for 10-12k atm and no one else is buying them cause onions are sold out (and i keep buying them out <grins>) meanwhile the price of kabobs is going up up up <wider grin> along with my cooking skills. good synth success and rapid sales have made my gils go from about 45k on sat to about 250k this am. (and i have about 50 stacks of kabobs to sell yet) <grinning all the way to delivery box>
People were complaining that Wild Onions and Meat Mithkabobs were being overpriced due to Gilsellers. This is NOT true. People doing things like redhare make the prices go up. Although they make plenty of Meat Mithkabobs, the prices for ingrendients will go up because of supply/ demand. While he buys out Wild Onions they become more expensive causing everything else to rise. But i do agree this is an excelent way to make a profit even if its causing inflation.
Okay, My buddy's been playin FFXI and I've been his wingman through much of it. He's got this hamburger in the upper left part of the screen, he got it after eating a wild onion. Does this mean he's full or hungry or what? I don't understand what it means since nothing seems to have changed. Please respond for I am picking up my own copy tomarrow, my first MMORPG so wish me luck with my Balka Paladin!

No, You cant stack either. you can consume both at once but neither food nor drinks stack. most drinks last less than 5 min. but if you eat a kabob and drink an au lait you have to wait for the effect to wear before you can consume another. please note some drinks are considered food (ex. windurst tea).
E.g. Eat a mithkabob, drink a juice and drink an au lait. All will stack. But can't stack juice on juice, food on food, or au lait on au lait. Also note that some foods/drinks give more than one type of effect above.
Also re: original poster, most "raw" food give a little bonus to one stat with significant hit to other stat(s). Just cause you can eat it doesn't mean it's good for you (e.g. salsa). Cook with other ingredients though and you're good to go.
LOL You can do the Gourmet quest in Bastok and get 350 for them each. You can repeat it as many times as you can zone the lady in the time period she will pay that much for them (6 Vanadiel hours).
I noticed that consuming a wild onion will guarantee a crystal drop if you have a signet cast on you. I tried this only once, but got 10 crystals in a row befor my signet wore off.
Bastok wild onion sell.Correction you dont have to wait the next day to sell them.Matter in fact you can sell them many times you like but only trades 1 time.you have to trade 1 nion and then quickly zone out and zone back in. you can sell them like 3 to 4 times depends how fast you can run to zone out and comback in the are and go talk to Salimah.But you still have to sell them at those hours 12:00 to 18:00 to get 350 gils,other wise before that time or after that time,she only gives you 100 gils. you sell them at the area bastok market place by the jewelery east side of the map.
