I actually bought all three and the santa hat ftom a moogle in bastok. its actually going on right now as i type this. I'm sure u all probably know this by now, seeing as ur all so much more informed than I, but I didn't see a post the mog is next to the north gustaberg exit in port bastok. kinda cool for all of us who missed out on the quest last year.

These definitely give a Gardening Moghancement, not Experience. For those of you who don't know how Moghancements work vs. elemental energy, these things will help enhance your Experience Moghancement if you have a Bronze Bed in the room and ice is the dominant element. It won't do much good with other beds or with your earth-filled gardening room.

Huh? I thought ice element furnishings were related to Moghancement: Experience...

And I know for sure that earth element furnishings are for Moghancement: Gardening

The moghancement of an item isn't necessarily related to the element.

The strength of the moghancement, though, is dependant on the amount of energy (in your MH) for the base element from the item which gives the moghancement.

Furthermore, the item with the highest absolute value of elemental energy (say, two ice vs. one fire) is the dominant moghancement. So if you had something with two ice and moghancement: Experience, as well as something with one ice and moghancement: Ice synthesis, you'd get a net total of Moghancement: Experience, strength three.

maybe just a rumor

this might be just a rumor but i heard that these trees had a hidden effect where they lessen the exp loss when you HP, kinda like the beds. anyone heard the same thing?

I have gone in my mog house before and was going to move my tree around, when i put it down, the description of my room was experience. Which is what comes up when u put down a bed.

Windy Tree

I found that when Rhi Perejha said she wasn't feeling well it wouldn't start the quest, i actually gave up, then I figured out you need to talk to the market moogle first then she will start you on her errands, I found there was plenty of time to make the deadlines, even with checking my map to make sure i was heading in the right direction, as i'm not very familiar with windhurst

I have both the Sandy and Bastok tree. I have talked to Rhi Perejha but all she says is something like: "Perhaps I shouldn't have had those pickles." And I cannot get the quest. Do I have to pass out presents before I can get this? If I have yet to locate the smilebringer (the person who sells you presents and what not). Please let me know, thanks

Cant get it
# Dec 20 2004 at 1:08 PM Rating: Default
I've recieved the tree from windy on the first go around, did the 3 letters there and gave away some presents. Then when I warp to bastok, I talked to Tree Talker and he didn't give me quest for Bastok tree, then I went to San d'Oria, and tried Farmaoquoux, but he wouldn't give me quest. I've tried giving presents away seeing if that could give me quest for it but that was a no go.

I don't know if this has been mentioned elsewhere, but you DO NOT need flee/warp/mog house exit upgrades to get the trees. If you take too long on the first two material retrievals, the NPC will give it to you anyway on the 3rd attempt, no matter how long you take.
I bought mine

Yeah, I know it's sad but reading other posts about losing Christmas fame from warping to Windurst, I bought this tree from the San D`oria AH instead. Spent a crazy 20,000 gil to get it too, but it's only once a year and I was in the giving mood. Bought the Bastokan holiday tree as well for 10,000 gil. And what's even more pathetic, my only furnishings are the three trees. Got my Dream Hat +1 though =).

Sorry for the numerous reposts as this is my first time posting on this site and it doesn't let me know that I have posted. All I get is a blank blue screen. And I've yet to figure out how to delete a post.

You furnishings are most likely more numerous in fishing than gardening.
Exp bonus?
# Dec 18 2004 at 10:34 AM Rating: Default
Any idea what this thing does? I spent the entire first night of the event going around and getting the trees from all 3 nations, and when I set them up, I got Mog Enhancement: Experience. I have a bronze bed in my mog house, but I'm wondering if the trees might enhance the bed's experience bonus.
How do get this item

There is an NPC in Port Windurst near the gate to West Sarutabaruta called Rhi Perejha. You need to talk to her and she will then send you to one of the residential areas (your first time it is the residential area in Port Windurst). When you get to the residential areas you need to talk to the Market Moogle. The Moogle will give you an item to take back to Rhi Perejha. Run back and hand her the item.

The only difficult thing about this quest is that there is a time limit. You need to get back to Rhi Perejha within XX game hours, or she sends you to another residential area.

Obviously, using Flee or Warp help a lot.

You can do this quest multiple times, but only once per game day. So far I have only been rewarded with fireworks for repeats.

This system also applies to Bastok (Port Bastok, NPC: Tree Talker, near the gate to North Gustaberg) and San d'Oria (Port San d'Oria, NPC: Farmaoquoux, near Airship building).
