Store TP & Use at 50

Store TP info can be found in the SAM forums.

Anyway, the point of these is that with a 450 Delay GKT, such as the level 50 Koryukagemitsu, you need 46 StP to reach a 6 hit build. At 50, you get Store TP trait III, which gives you 20 flat-out. This leaves you needing 26 more. If you equip the Shinamusha Hara-Ate + Shinamusha Haidate then you have added 15, for a total of 35 (leaving 11 to go). Now, equip Rajas Ring and you are only 6 away.

For the final 6, you have two options.

Option 1) Carbonara

Food Effects: (30 Minutes, All Races)
HP +14% (Cap: 175 @ 1249 Base HP)
MP +10
Strength +4
Vitality +2
Intelligence -3
Attack +18% (Cap: 65 @ 361 Base Attack)
Store TP +6

Option 2) Arrabbiata + Ecphoria Ring

Food Effects: (30 minutes, All Races)
HP +12% (Cap: 150@1250 Base HP)
Strength +5
Vitality +2
Intelligence -7
Attack +22.5% (Cap: 120@533 Base Attack)
Store TP +5

Note that you get one more STR and more ATK with Arrabbiata, but that due to it only having 5 versus 6 StP, you need to add 1 more from your ring slot. Also, since it is made with Dragon Meat, price may be prohibitive.

Hopefully this information clears up the confusion that was posted below.

As a final note, people using Soboro Sukehiro should not be focusing their gear on StP.

Ok, after reading through this thread, I dont remember seeing the actual formula.
The way StoreTP works is this:

(StoreTP/100)x base TP for the weapon.

In the case of base 10 tp weapons, StoreTP 1=.1 extra tp/hit.

For a typical GKT(450 delay), base TP gain is 11.5

This Armor gives StoreTP 9, so .09x11.5 =1.035, so(rounded) you would get 12.5 TP per swing rather than 11.5.

Combined with StoreTP III, at SAM50, which is Store TP 20:
.29*11.5=3.335, so 15.8 TP per swing.

Edited last part to include correct job stats at lvl50.

im a lvl 32 SAM and i have absolutely no store tp bonuses except job abilities. I get 13 tp per hit and 14 maybe once every 12 hits. when you first start the job you get 10 tp per hit with the 450 delay GK. so over 22 lvls from getting store tp, you get about an extra 3.1 tp, which averages out to be .15%tp per lvl. So im pretty sure Store tp adds .15% tp per +?. +9 will give you bout 1.2tp so if you use 450 delay GK's by lvl 55 you should get around 17 tp per hit and with this armor itll be up to bout 18.sumthin.

No...
You don't get +Store TP at each lvl.
You get your first at lvl 10 and at specific level you got more boost until Store TP IV.
But Store TP IV doesn't meen Store TP+4!
At level 60 I got 13 TP with a 450 GK and with the Shinimusha Hara-Ate I got 13 TP too. It only raises the Tp after the point. So you get maybe 0.4 TP more.

I'm a lvl 63 SAM/THF and I wear this until i hit 100%TP, then I switch to STR+ Gear.
It's not bad but Store TP+9 is not as much as most of the people think.

Wow, so much bad info about Store TP @_@

I think one person had it right, but anyway, TP gain is based off of weapon delay. Store TP is a multiplier of your TP gain return. It's not a fixed number at all, it varies with weapon delay and to an extent how much you already are using.

Just know that at level 50 with a 450 delay GKT this will get you to 100% a hit sooner. The Haidate will do the same, but only if you hit both hits of a two hit WS. That's barring any RATT TP or TP gained from being hit. It won't work with a lower delay GKT either.

I'm not going to post a detailed explanation on Store TP. If you're interested I suggest you do a search on KI.

*Also it has absolutely nothing to do with the mob.

# Dec 28 2005 at 7:35 PM Rating: Decent
Sure, you can say this thing is not that great alone... +9% tp per hit doesn't sound like a lot on paper... But with the matching pants & a very nice rare/ex GK at level 50 that attacks 2-3 times + dual attack from /war and at 60 zanshinn which will occassionally attack again if you miss... That +9% tp adds up quite nicely. I've heard of people soloing 3lvl light sc's without meditate wearing this, I don't know if it's true, just what I've heard.

Of course hachiman is just round the corner if your at 60 and hauby is very nice, but with todays economy you just can't argue with free stuff that is this good.

The info about the .9 TP gain is not true. I just got this armor while doing CoP Mission 2-3. Wasn't farming it, but got it by pure luck. The gain i have at level 68 is 5 TP per strike. So the % theory is false. I don't know how it works, but i can tell you that +9 Store TP is not .9 gain. I wear this only for soloing, such as farming, or just pure boredom. O'Kotes or AF gloves, doesnt matter, same gain. If you want it, go get it, its a nice item to have, and if your at lvl 50, it is definatly worth having.
RE: sure, it's not that great alone
# Feb 02 2006 at 10:32 PM Rating: Decent
Each Store TP is .2% extra TP. So after 5 hits you'll gain an extra 1%. Now with +9, that means 1.8% and you already have 2 Store TP's from Job traits, so total gain is 2.2% extra per hit.

There is some dispute on the level of the mob affecting store tp gain. But I'll say this (also for people who look up store tp) when you notice you get 1 extra TP even though commonly you gain [let's say] 12% TP and on one hit you gain 13%, that's because most hits also give .?% as well. I've researched it. Also, I say 12% because I get that much with a Lance :). It's not luck, it's math :D

I'm also fully aware I could be wrong about the Store TP, because .2% is what I have seen from many SAM's telling me this and reading it. This is the best info I have...

Just for those who don't know:

Shinimusha translates to New Warrior, making the Shinimusha Hara-ate "New warrior's Stomach armor"
Same goes for the Shinimusha Haidate.

#REDACTED, Posted: Jun 02 2005 at 3:49 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Store TP: Every [Yellow]+1 Store TP[/Black], is .1 TP. So, +9 Store TP, will give you .9 TP every hit, rather than +9 TP. If Store TP was a 1[/Black]:1 Ratio, [Black]Samurai would be using Weapon Skills Very Rapidly
RE: RE. +9 What?
# Jul 09 2005 at 12:00 AM Rating: Decent
Actualy, thats not correct.

You get +9% extra tp per hit

Now suppose you get 10% tp a hit w/o any store tp, with Store tp III (which you will have if your wearing this armor)
you will gain an extra 20% tp a hit,

so now you gain 12 tp a hit.

With this, you get an extra 9% tp so, +29% tp gain combined with store tp = 12.9 tp a hit, which rounds up to 13 i believe.

Which would make the hits you need to get from 0-100% tp go from 9 to 8 hits.

Hope this helps!

p.s.
Depending on your great katana, i think your base tp gain is higher then 10%, but what i provided was just for an example if you gained 10% tp a hit.
Just to clarify a bit

RE: RE. +9 What?

You just said the exact same thing in a different way. Both of it translates to +.9 TP per hit. The percentages just make it confusing.

"Store TP"+9 = X.9% TP per hit instead of X% TP per hit.

No, he was right. There is in fact a difference.

OP said that it is +0.9. That means if your weapon originally gave you 11 TP, with the legs (not counting passive StoreTP) you would get 11.9. This is incorrect.

The way it actually works is if your weapon gives you 11 TP per hit, StoreTP+9 multiplies by 9%.
Hence, 11 * 1.09 = 11.99.

The difference is small, but there *is* a difference.
+9 what?

worthless?
# Feb 24 2005 at 1:40 PM Rating: Decent
I could be mistaken, but the post(s) here mentioning that the sam store tp trait is not enough blows my mind. Assuming the mob hits you for each time you hit (equal delays), and assuming you hit your arrow upon the mob's arrival (sam/rng), then after you swing 4 times, you can do a ws. Call me crazy, but that doesn't seem worthless. If they made the trait give more tp, then parties could start having hate control issues, especially in nin parties. This is very balanced. At least yours isn't like mine (bard..+3 chr which isn't that bad, and latent refresh? bards have ballad...and before I get flamed, I know the refresh is more for bst...)

Point of the post: while some gear might be out there that's better, there is no gear that is "worthless" when it is job specific, and there is no ability/trait that is nerfed too much.

Most of what I read here isn't that true... I'm wearing both Shinimusha parts(body and pants) which give me +15 TP Store. With Ochiduo's Kote and 2 Snipper Rings, this allow me to greatly out damage any DRK of my level. Not only do I almost always hit my target, but TP goes damn fast !!!

my TP stats:
When my hits land: 15 TP
When I get hit: 3-4 TP
When my arrows land: 18-19 TP

Now; can this be compared to Haubergeon ??? H3LL NO !! Haubeageon is Lv59, this is Lv50. You should get this as early as possible, and wear it till Haubergeon...

Ho, and did I mension how cool it looks ???
http://putfile.com/1/208085326.jpg <------ ME

ALSO, and most of all, note that now, for the first times since March patch, I can self-chain again ! and pretty easilly !!! (as long as mob is hitting me between my 2 WS)

Actually that Store TP info is accurate. I have a friend who was using a couple of TP+ Items and he was hitting for large amounts of TP per hit. People probably think its only +0.# (Whatever the item adds) because they've only tried it on IT mobs. I was shown a demonstration by a level 65ish SAM on a Too Weak, and it was pretty crazy. I really want this piece of equip because the Hara-ate and Haidate armor was my favorite armor set, sadly with no stat updates. It would be nice to have a set to goof around in that had some nice + bonuses. Gotta do the Promyvion's first though e_e;
