Just found out from friend that the Critical effect on this wont work in off hand unless your AGI is 115+ cant confirm it but....I wont be using it in my off hand any more lol on my nin which is Elvaan with low base and boosts still dont put me above even 100 :(
well looks like the fudo which is one more damage will go back to my off hand...and this in main....
Ive been questioning this for years.
When i equip Senjuinrikio in the main hand and use a multi-hit WS, the WS usally deals the high side damage, more than having the a Fudo in the main.
I think this is because the Senjuinrikio(+6%) is 150% the +crit Fudo(+3%) would give to your main hand. So when you WS with Senjuinrikio in the main hand your hits from that WS are more likely to be critical hits.
I still cant confirm the statements with solid data, but from experience what you say about the weapons +critcal traits only affecting the hand its equipped in might very well be true.

hmm i thought it were 3 point for fragmentation, 5 points when you do Light skillchain. My morgenstern didn't do 500 skillchains for sure, took me lots of hours thou.
Woot just got this bad boy yesterday.... >< i got Heart Snatcher on my 1st run, but since i got play Thf n/e more it really didnt excite me, but the 2nd run drop my katana.
The crit bonuses on weapon don't add all together To your Criticals unlike regular Stat bonuses like str+. So Senjuin will Give the weapon itself +6% and fudo would give itself +3 which is still cool don't get me wrong.
Unlike Str+ and other stat bonuses, Crit+ wont add to your Criticals all together, So don't misunderstand having a Fudo and this together adds +9 to all your crits, it only affects each weapon itself, Which is still cool but not Awesome.
I was helping some friends with ODS last night and I got this because no one else wanted it and I may possibly level NIN after I get WHM to 75. My NIN is currently level 12. It will be at least a year until I can equip this thing.
Now I'm not quite so embittered to all these level 40 monks who already have their Destroyers. That used to **** me off to no end. But hey, they're just a victim of circumstance like I am in this situation. So now I have uber katana, but still no Destroyers >.< What a cruel joke.
Still, I'm glad to have it. If my DM run goes well tonight, I'm going to have a Suppanomimi I can't use either >.<
I received this on my first KS 30 Run, did not get any claws tho >:(, so after I got Blade: Ku, I continued to do SC'S with this Katana in Quick Sand Caves. I was doing 40-50dmg with this one and 109dmg with fudo. After about an hour and a half of SC's(Distortion with 60Thf) I noticed I was hitting Critical way more and I also noticed that both katanas were doing same dmg. So I fought a few more mobs and the dmg stayed the same, so I think I broke the latent effect. Did not count SC's tho. again took about an hour, hour and a half.
believe me 3 v claws are far better than the katana dropping no matter how badly you need it. its bound to drop some time but youll have gil in the mean time.
To permanently unlock the latent effect you must obtain 500WS Katana points with this weapon in your main hand. Changing Katanas before completing the 500 points will not restart the count.
All points are obtained through fighting Easy Prey or harder monsters.
You get 1 point for each WS.
The only way of knowing if you have unlocked this weapon is if you were counting your points for every chain, or you are able to notice a large difference in your dmg. There is no point counter you can menu to and see that will tell you how many points you have to go.
You get it, it has crappy damage, until you do 500 WS points. I closed a bunch of level 2 using Jin farming with a friend of mine. It took several days. All of a sudden, it changed, and suddenly started going the same damage as my Fudo. Now I off hand it with my Fudo for a total of +9% crit hit. It is arguably one of the best Katana in the game for crit hit. Once unlocked it does 38 base damage all the time. It is very easy to get. Get a group together to do KS30, and ask if you can lot this if it drops on someone's orb.
I also have a heart snatcher, which is a NIN equipable dagger level 73 once clean it does 24 damage and +6% crit hit. I'm still working on cleaning this one. I usually clean it when farming in Sky. Once I have it clean I will dual wield this and the Senjuinrikio for +12% crit hit.
The Senjuinrikio is a better Katana than the one that drops of the Mother Globe. I got the MG Katana the other day, and spent some time comparing them. The Sen is better.
I don't see the point of this katana, its a ***** to get, a ***** to unlock, and it's still not as good as the fudo which has higher damage, is 2 lvls earlier, and can be bought at AH.
Unless theres some kind of hidden effect I don't know about, this thig is kinda useless.
Except that it's easy to get (drops commonly from probably the easiest KS 30), takes only a few hours to unlock, and does more damage overall than a Fudo thanks to more critical hits. So, it's better than a Fudo, and free.
This is a nice Katana, I have one of my own, I just can wait to level up my ninja...first my warrior THEN my ninja so I can use this Katana, I belive that if you have to work so hard for something it's worth keeping.
