Got this belt for 35k today

for anyone who DOESNT know... ppl who say STR is more importaint than attk are half wrong... and half right.

Attk is MOST importaint for melee damage.

STR is most importaint as a DMG mod for WSs

This belt rocks!

I picked this up the other night for ~250k IIRC. With two Puissance (+3) this and my Spike Necklace I'm doing crazy damage on Beetles in CN. If you don't have the money for it the Swordbelt works fine but fighting something with high def like beetles I'll take +Str over +Att anyday. As for the Life Belt, I'm going to keep both for a bit to see which works better. Doesn't hurt to try it, you can always sell it back. :P

Damn..you're lucky if it's that cheap..I picked one up on Fairy today for 500,000G. This -might- have a hidden effect.. or something, or maybe it's just the STR making more of a difference than I though, I noticed a noticably increase in damage over using my Swordbelt+1 or R.K.+1. atleast 5-10 damage more. Which is more than +1 str should make I'd think

It also has attack +5 that's why it does 5-10 more damage.

Hehe...you should have waited. One month later and its down to 225k. I wanted to buy this and my party even got it in the ENM we did but i have an Ocean Belt which gives Str+3 Dex+2 some HP and a little more def which i think works out better then the attack+5. Also i doubt this would do you better then a life belt a few levels later and the life belt is acutally cheaper(unless your a warrior with dual wield viking and aggressor) but in the end its you who decides how to play your job, hope i helpped ^^
life belt anyone?
# Mar 09 2005 at 7:29 PM Rating: Decent
wouldnt you rather wait 3 lvls for a life belt???
So i should get this instead of a Sword Belt?

I am wearing a sword belt on my mithran Drk. This would be better? And anyone have any Titan prices? Is that Trap Hard. I have promanthia but I haven't done much in it besides see bahamut warn the humans and see wolfgang talk about the boy they found in delkfutt's tower... Any help would be great thanks.

STR is far more important than Attack :P. Just like VIT is more important than Defense. Its just, it is a lot easier to get Attack and Defense + from weapons and armor. Your skill in a weapon is pretty equal to +acc and +atk(at the same time). But weapon skill can never replace VIT and STR(which also help dmg and defense, but do other things)

DEX is much more important than ACC. Not only does the DEX increase your accuracy but it also affects how often you hit with a critical strike and adds to many WS's damage. Don't get me wrong I use both Accuracy and DEX gear and switch them back and forth depending on the situation but to say DEX is not important is insane. Just one THF's view.

I guess for someone who wants to max out their STR, too bad MNK cant wear it. I would probably spend 150k on it if I needed it.

Monks don't need this belt..

you just use a brown belt, and get 5 str instead of the 3 from this belt, along with 8% haste

"Just" use a brown belt.

Because the quest for it is easy and the brown belt is dirt cheap in the AH anyway, right? :P

Why would you buy this for 150k?

I got really excited when i saw that but then i thought, "no, hang on".

*cough* Sword belt anyone?

DEF:4 Attack + 10
Lv: 43

mine cost 4k

So why on earth would you buy this for 150k, or anything more than a swordbelt?

sometimes you need Str more than attack, i.e. some ws's are str dependant

i noticed that my sata was doing much more dmg with this than with my swordbelt. With the swordbelt i was getting a max non ViperBite sata for about 350. With this belt i was doing upwards of 425 dmg on a non VB sata.

big increase...
RE: um
# Oct 08 2005 at 3:04 PM Rating: Decent
The dmg from SATA is actually based off your DEX and AGI.
SA dmg is from Dex
TA dmg is from AGI
What probably increased your dmg was just the +att, in which case you might wanna go with a swordbelt for better results.

When you have a lower weapon damage rating, it is usually more useful to boost strength than attack. Also, if you use a lot of attack gear/abilities, having +str instead of just more + attack will make you do more damage, depending on the damage ceiling for your weapon. In other words a monk or thief might want this because thier weapon damage variable is low. Attack increases the damage like this. Let's say for example (These numbers are just for example not accurate) that a Level 10 warrior/monk weilding a brass axe does between 6-18 damage to an IT lizard. Increasing attack by two would add two points to the damage up until it hit the 18 mark. Adding two points of strength would increase the numbers to 7-19. Its a rough example but thats the basic idea behind str vs att.
