These are going for 20m on midgar....I have the gil but I'm not wasting 6.6m per enfeebling skill. Sad thing most people buying them probably don't even have their enfeebling merits capped.

I'm not sure of your point on this statement, as this adds to your skill whether it's capped or not. This (and the other + mana skill items) are great in lvl capped areas, like BCNM 40's and Phomiuma Aqueducts, where hopeful you already have that magic capped and can use the extra "edge" ;)

i no this sounds super stupid but is a 30rdm/15nin able to solo this? i would think so but most lickly not <font size= "7" font color= "red">please answer
im srry for the lack of knowladge but where and how do i get to find this ENM? does it have a name? is it the same NM u fight to clear the promy or is it like a BC which u need to trade orb or somtin? will appriciate any information^^
These earrings are selling for 6 million gil a piece on Pheonix right now.Are people stupid enough to pay that much?I am a lvl 70 RDM, and i admit, they have appeal.Enfeebling torque sells for 2 mill.i think i'll stick with the torque, and take my chances with maat.
This is dropped from Promyvion-Dem. Ive gotten this drop twice now. Kinda nice since Dem is by far the easiest one. Only bad thing about it is the AH fee to put it on in Jeuno.
Here's my experiences with my earring. I have casted enfeebles on mobs in exp pt in crawler's nest now for some 10 levels. I have had it unequipped just to see what I can do without it and then equipped it to see if my enfeebles stick with it on. I have to say that empirically yes it does help when landing enfeebles[especially when the RDM next to me is bitching about how he can't land as many with the same enfeebling skill level i have without it on]. I find this to be a worthwhile investment to have in your equipment stash for exp pts. I'll find out soon enough if it is any good on gods when i get my Hume to sky. I hope this provides some info that some of you may be looking for.
I have been debating getting this, but I don't like the price tag. It would have been so good to have the other night in my xp pt as RDM because i was 45 in a 47-48 pt and couldn't land anything. But 3.8mil is a little much.
If you look below, you will see that it is an ENM item.
You get it from killing a ENM - Empty Notorious Monster - in a Promvy area. Then you trade a certain drop you get, if you're lucky, to a certain NPC in Jueno.
The reason this earring is so awesome(mainly for rdm) is that adding directly to your skill is the best way to get your enfeebles to act in a better manner. The earring isn't much by itself, but when coupled with other things is when it gets powerful. The warlock's tabard gives +15 skill, enfeebling torque +7, earring +3. Having +25 skill is like performing appoximately 7-8ish levels above what you are(not sure on the exact number of levels). This, of course is a lot, plus you must count all the extra mnd, int, and staves that get switched in to add to the enhancement of your spells. All this together make for some mean enfeebles.
Note this is not unique to enfeebling magic.

This is absolutely correct. That is the value of skill + items. Enfeebling Earring will basically let you enfeeble monsters as if you were a full level above your current level from 1-50. It will only be a half level difference after that (because the skill cap raises by 6 after 50). Even then, having +25 Enfeebling is being able to enfeeble 4+ levels higher than you are. It's incredibly useful, and required if you want to land debuffs on some of the stronger monsters in the game.
This Earring as well as all of the lvl 35 earrings are obtained from the Promyvion 30 cap ENMs, to get the EMN quest you must have Chains of Promathia. You start by flagging the Promyvions. To do this, you zone into Lower Delkfutt's Tower sometime after you install CoP. From what I understand, no fame is required. After you get the Cut-Scene, go to Upper Jeuno and talk to the Doctor guy, Monte-something, I can't remember his name, he is in the Clinic or whatever. After you talk to him, you can then talk to Vanessa in Ru'Lude Gardens. She will ask you if you are there about the Promyvion ENMs or something along those lines, confirm until she asks you which Spire you are interested in, Choose a spire and get the key item for the one you want to do (You can get all 3 if you want, you might as well) After that you are ready to go. Get yourself a PT with as many RNGs as possible and a WAR/NIN tank. After you beat the boss, you will get some Memory Clusters and you have some chance (A very slim one apperantly) to get a "Vision" item. You trade the Vision back to Vanessa and she will give you the appropriate Earring for whichever vision you gave her. The one for the Enfeebling Earring is the "Timerous Vision" or something very simular. Getting a Vision in the first place is very rare, and since their are over a dozen possible Visions to get, the chances of getting the one you want is very very slim, not to mention that unless you are with close friends who are just going along to help (or for the 3k XP you get for winning) then even if you DO get the Vision you want, they probably aren't just going to let you keep it as these earrings are very new and still very very expensive (Enfeebling Earring is 3mil on Diabolos, and the Elemental Earring is around 4, though dropping)
*edit Not sure if you can only get certain visions from certain ENMs, though as you can see, it is confirmed that this particular one drops from ENM30 Spire of Dem (You are what you eat) which is good because from what I can tell, this is by the easiest one. Don't know if you can get this one from other ENMs, though if NOT, then that is good as you don't have as many possible drops thereby making the chances of getting the one you want a lot better. The Vision for the Buckler Earring also drops from this ENM

SEE WHAT JOKING AROUND GOT YOU AN ENTIRE FORUM OF PEOPLE ARGUING ABSOLUTLEY NOTHING.... IF YOUR LVL 35 YOUR GONNA KNOW HOW THIS WORKS...JESUS, PEOPLE THAT DON'T KNOW DON'T COME TO THESE FORUMS.... i'm sorry for the caps...i just can't believe that it's been almost 3 months !!! and nothing helpful has been posted on how to get this from the ENM's (random i guess) or how much the going price on your server is, or any helpful hints from some higher lvl rdm's who have been to dynamis and fought the gods, and have wondered about this earring helping out their de-buffs accuracy. I'm sorry, i didn't mean to yell i just was wondering if anyone has this, has seen it's price and would provide me some helpful knowledge on aquiring one, oh and i'm on phoenix and there have been 6 transactions 1 of which has been a buyer, later selling it, so atleast 5 are floating around...i've got the last buyer targeted as i type this, he has it in his bazzar, selling for 3,500,000gil, which he bought for 2mil ....i emote spit on him....he's an AH camper name'd Skeleton, if your in lower jeuno, he's always at the first stall next to the delivery NPC's spit on him the next time you see him.... people like that are what make the prices go up.
I just got one of these today, also off the Dem ENM. I had no idea the visions were worth anything, nor did my fellow LS members who came with me to do the ENM & Promy fight. No one lotted on the vision and it happened to drop my way. I asked another friend about it and was told to trade it to Venessa in Ru'Lude Gardens. When she handed me this earring, I almost leapt off my sofa..lol.
This earring sells for 3-3.5 million on Asura, but seeing as my main job is RDM, I'm going to be keeping it. =)

Just got this Earring from th NM in Spire-Dem. Got items from NM that we traded to Vanessa in RuludeGard, she gave us the earring. Sells on Shiva for 3 mil.
Enfeebling earring: +3 to enfeeble skill means it will raise your total enfeebling skill by three, as long as you have it equipped. You can look at your enfeebling magic skill and see that the total has gone up by three. Also this earring can raise it over the existing gap, so say your capped at 108 (number is blue) you can equip it and it will show you capped at 111. This is NOT a permanent effect, you MUST have the earring equipped in order for the +3 skill effect.
I am sure ppl who bought it for 1mill or even 2mill in carbuncle tought that the earring would work like friscom said, I dont see anyone in its right mind paying that much for a earring that only gives you 1 lvl worth of skill at lvl 35 (at lvl 35 enfeeb skill cap is 108 and at 36 is 111) or almost 1/2 lvl skill at lvl 70 (lvl 70 player enfeeb cap is 251 and at 71 is 256, these numbers are for rdm), and since xp pt's are always fighting mobs that are aound 10 lvls higher than the highest lvl member 1 lvl will make very little of a difference for the enfeeb spells to stick a lot better or more often, at least not worth for that amount of gil IMO.
The effect given only while wearing it is a understood statement for all experienced players.
There isnt much available (or anything at all, i think??) that gives +enfeebling at this lvl.
And IF it did work like friscom said, it would be priceless as you would have infinite enfeebling skill, and keeping it would only mean you have better skill than the next guy, giving you more pts when people find out you have infinite enfeebling.
so when i equip this, my skill goes up 3 points??!?!?! so i can equip it and unequip it, and everytime it will go up by three?!?! 200, 203, 206, 209, man ill have 500 skill in it in no time! i love this earring!
I never realized that people were really this stupid....

Ok, as a lv 65 Red Mage, my Enfeebling is capped at 227.
I have two pieces of equipment that add to enfeebling skill.
Enfeebling Torque (+7 Enfeebling Magic Skill)
Warlock's Tabbard (+15 Enfeebling Magic Skill)
When those are unequipped, my Enfeebling Magic Skill listed under profile > magic skill is blue and capped at 227. With them equipped my Enfeebling Magic Skill is blue and capped at 249.
If I had this earring it would then be blue and capped at 252.
________________
Now when I hit lv 66, I'll then be able to raise my Enfeebling Magic Skill again. When I get a full .10 skillpoints, I'll get the message that my skill has gone up to 228. Under my profile, it will be listed as 250. 253 If I had this earring.
Hope this helps.

It sounds to me that all of you keep arguing the same fact. Nothing I have read says anything basely different, other than the words used. Does it raise your Enfeebling Magic Skill by 3? Meaning: If I equip this Earring and my Enfeebling is Capped (which right now I think is 103), it will then raise it 3 more points? Without Skilling up? Please confirm, I am confused.....and hungry
edited to remark that this post will be utterly confusing now that is up top..... :(

These, and all of the new skill raising earrings, come from the Lv30 ENMs in the basic three Promyvions. The spheres that award prizes do not always drop the required item to get these earrings; they are an uncommon drop. And you only get one. You bring this drop back to the NPC where you get the ENM key items from, and she gives you the appropriate earring.
For those unsure of the worth of this, consider that a person with an A+ rating in a skill has their cap raise by three points every level. A red mage at level 35 with capped Enfeebling would be able to raise his or her enfeebling score by three more points upon reaching level 36. This earring gives you the skill equivalent of an extra level. This is -not- the same as an actual extra level, considering the other benefits of leveling, but can be a considerable help when trying to land a spell on a hard opponent. This is especially so with enfeebling, since, unlike elemental spells, a resisted enfeebling spell simply misses (distinguishing between spell ACCURACY, which is avoiding resistance [mostly skill-based], and spell POWER, which is how long the spell lasts or how much damage it does [mostly stat-based]).
#niftynigel,
Posted:Mar 10 2005 at 3:16 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) id rather just cast protectra on myself 200 times to gain the 3 magic skill
The plus 3 to enfeebling is a constant effect. It doesn't increase your base by 3 points one time only, but whenever you are wearing it, it adds 3 to whatever your base enfeebling skill constantly while wearing it.
In other words, if you put it on when your enfeeb skill is 32, your spells would be cast with an enfeeb rating of 35. If your enfeeb skill was 72 when you put the earring on again, then it would raise it to 75 for casting for as long as you wear it, but you would lose the plus 3 effect when you took the earring off.
It gives SKILL, not 3 more points to what you have like casting magic does. If your skill cap is 100 this earring would make it 103 not just take u from 97 to 100

No items that adds a + to a job skill (i.e. Enfeebling Magic, Enhancing Magic, Parrying, etc.) does NOT, I repeat does not increase your cap for the skill. It simply as he says adds to your total even if it goes over your cap.
If you don't believe me, since you're a 55 RDM. Equip your AF gloves or boots and watch your skill go up and not your cap.
Sorry to sound harsh but I don't like misinformation.
Your post is either wrong, or merely very misleading. If your Status menu says your Enfeebling Skill is capped (blue text) at 200, and you equip this earring, it will then say capped (blue text) at 203.
It is true that your *actual* skill cap will remain the same -- in other words, when you go up a level and your skill begins to increase, the message you get will say it has increased to 201 even though Status now shows 204. If that is what you're trying to say, then why would you tell him to equip and unequip his AF? That would only prove that the skill is still in blue text and can't be raised any further.
:Cast dia at something 50 times... you get a skillup:
You have gained .2 enfeebling skill. You have reached 101 Enfeebling Skill.
In Status> Magic> Enfeebling Skill: 104
It's not adding to your max, it's adding to your actual skill. It's not 103 skill, it's more like 100 + 3. But if your Enfeebling skill is capped, it will STILL add the +3 skill to it.
That clears it up a bit. It adds it to your current skill, no matter the level. If you are on nin/war and put this earring on it would be: In Status> Magic> Enfeebling Skill: 3
It's confusing because SE didn't put in the + system for everything, just stats. So you can see you have 60 + 25 charisma, but you can't see you have 100 + 3 enfeebling skill. BOOO Square-Enix... Horray BEER!
