I just equipped this yesterday, and by comparison to the Kazaridachi, this thing OWNS. Ws's have been doing more and been breaking 1k damage alot more (200%TP btw) <3 TP bonus. ^^ Also Shinsoku on Shiva server is 5-6mil so this is waaaay better for price(Hagun 1m-1.2m) AND effectiveness. Must have for 72+ SAM

What is the Drop Rate on this GK off the NM?
Effects?
# May 07 2006 at 11:52 AM Rating: Decent
Some WS have status effects that are enhanced by TP, like yukikaze, gekko, hobaku. I believe these are all "Duration of -insert status effect here- varies with TP" does having Hagun and "TP Bonus" affect this? I have Hagun and I have noticed what seems like an increase but no real way to be sure. Anyone out there know?
Effects?

all samurai weapon skills are "Damage varies with TP" except for hobaku, and that effects how long stun lasts.
Goon

Yeah Entangle is right, even though he is a goon, got one today I was wondering why I wasn't getting a store TP bonus or w/e, then I tested out my skillz, and it was lush bruv! xD

Like the other martial weapons, I think it's a high level ENM drop.

i am a lvl 73 samurai and these stats are correct, i play with the Katana(what it really is called in RL, not Great Katana like the game calls it) on Sky monsters while killing Pots for Water drops, the dmg is very impressive, thought you cant do a double 300% it caps off the 1200, but at 200% you see a large chunk of dmg with your Exp pts huge approval. the most i have done on a WEapon in a Sky exp pt is 1111(amuzing i know) i suck on Sole sushi and have +42 str to boot so you know the dmg is divine. well the dum of this is the Dmg limit on this based on TP wise is 1200 points

Amazingly enough… I’m able to confirm the validity of the “100% TP tack”. This GK seems to produce very stable damage hit-for-hit and the weapon skills seem to remain fairly consistent for the most part as well. However, I have also found an interesting “quirk” and I’m not sure if it’s a “bug” or not. At lvl 71 I would get 16-17 TP per hit with Hachiman boots, pants, gloves, Haubergeon +1, and 2x Attila’s earrings (I also have the Hachiman body piece but it’s not as good as Hauby +1 for THF sub). Once I hit 72 I strapped on Hagun which set my TP back to 0%. Immediately after one (1) hit I got 22% TP. This trend continued sporadically ranging from 20-22 TP each time vs my normal 16-17. This never happened so frequently before until I started using Hagun. I don’t think I’m crazy and just seeing things either. Even my static mates, whom I’ve spent months exp’ing with, saw a huge difference between my Kazaridachi and Hagun. I usually always had TP anyway, but once I started using Hagun… I was building TP faster than I knew what to do with. It actually freaked me out at first cause it was just plain out creepy. I ultimately wonder if there might be some other hidden effects on Hagun because of this occurrence… or if I’m just someone who is experiencing a wonderful “fluke”.
Love this sword

This is the Martial Great Katana. While the damage is low, the TP Bonus effect makes it worth using this sword. Like all martial weapons, this doesn't increase the TP you gain per hit (that's Store TP), this actually adds 100% TP to your weapon skills when you use them. For example if you have exactly 100% TP when you use a weapon skill, the damage you do will be as if you had 200% TP. However after some testing I've determined this does NOT increase your weapon skill's power to above 300%, so if you have 200% TP or more when you use your weapon skill, it will do damage like a 300% TP WS but no more than 300%. I think the only great katana that match up to this baby are Ushikirimaru, Shinsoku, and the final lvl Relic Great Katana (Amanomurakumo).

Not that i'm disagreeing with you, but i think that you have only half of the equation correct. From what i'm reading on these other martial weapons, the TP added to your /ws is actually 1.5 of the amount of TP that you have when performing the /ws.

I'm not sure myself, i haven't used any of the martials.

Nope, 100 tp = 200 tp, and 200 tp = 300 tp.

That's the way it works, no fancy math needed. :p
