It does catch fish faster ,easier and better. But I fished up 2 stacks of gold carp ,And didn't get
any skill ups at all.(I am a 42 apprentice at this time.)I switched to my Comp. and fished for a while, caught maybe 6 or 7 golds, got .2 points from that. (Was fishing in windy waters.) so are you guys that say you are lvl 10 and catching golds or lobster or whatever (High level fish) getting skill ups from them?
Cool Rod

I'm level 68 Alchemy and i broke twice trying to craft this rod, Then i finally got my apron and crafted it, i decided to test it out and now after 2 or 3 hours a day of 4 days fishing in bastok markets with this rod i went from level 3 fishing to level 10 with no breaks, so i guess this is a awsome rod.

Just bought this today, and it broke on a mob at the Nightwell fishing for moat's.Only had it maybe 2 hours.Dint think anything in the Knightwell was that big.Hmmmmm Well ill just keep it till i can repair it.Anyone know the lvl Alchemy needed to repair this?
But honestly i had just as much luck with my Glassfiber as I did with Halcyon rod and it didnt break so dont think its worth the price i paid.

egh.. what i once thought was an near unbreakbale rod, has been broken; also in E. Saruta. have no idea on what though, as it was the first time ive ever fished there. bummed me out big time as ive only had for about a day, with about a stack-and-a-half fish caught with it. im also lvl 8.<5 and i got only one .1 skill up in about an hours' worth of fishing. with moats, i skilled up from 3 to 8 in one setting (about 5-6 hours)
broken

Oh jeez hume rod broke on 2nd cast on a gold carp (i would suppose). and Halcyon broke in East saruta, jez its a shame, but still very good rod made for small and big fish (let say medium fish)
.

actually this rod can nearly compare to Lu Shang Fishing Rod, but it is true it will aim for the highest cap fish, i'm lvl10 fishing and i catch a bunch of Bastore Breams and Bluetails (ogre eel and gold lobsters too)

I borrowed lu shang from a friend and still catch the same.

Halcyon also never broke in 3 days and over than 400 catch.
I love it

Sign my own fishing rod thanks to my level of alchemy. I believe they say it's level 74 but I think not. I am at 72 and failed 3:4 on these and with advanced crafting make 3 easily so must be around 75-76 ish maybe even 77 or 78. Takes a fire/inferno crystal, 1 cement chunk, 4 carbon fibers, and 2 glass fibers to make.

Used this rod for fishing in Windurst and caught many gold carps with a shrimp lure and never lost it. No "too small for this rod" either :)
compared this with my friend lu shangs and it's just as good :) This is the lu shangs for small fish at 1:1000 of the price :) All I'd like to see now is a rod that doesn't lose lures for big fish.

Lu shangs quest so sucks to do :P least this rod will make it much easier to catch tons o carp.

Great rod, at first i wasnt sure if i shoudl get it but now im 100% positive it was a good investment. In an hour or so ive gotten 5 gold carp bights which i never get, and ive cought them all (at lvl 11 fishign usually my rod breaks, but no.) even when it says thsi is to strong or whatver it astill catches, i dont think this rod can break though since theres no broken halcyon rod spot in AH, same with hume rod, eager to try that rod to.
good rod

Ive been using this rod for about the two days and been comparing it to the composite:

This rod will pull up fish like there is no tommorrow and it looks like it was brought out to smoothen the line up to Lu Shangs, however, this rod goes for the higher level cap fish in the area.

Ive been fishing in windhurst walls and ive been picking up loads more Gold Carp then with the Composite, aswell as moats, there is no "whatever hooked is too small to catch with this rod" and no breaks yet

i guess it'll take a while for people to find out how good these new rods actually compare to the older ones... it'd be neat if there was a new "composite" rod equivilent or something that good.
