The HQ is 100% on the pendant NQ is %50 i was actually considering using this on my thf along with the harp, but seems like too much work breaking the latent

I synthed my very first one of these the other day at 75+2 Smithing. My Woodworking was only 22, so if there is a Woodworking sub, it isn't much.
I was lucky enough to HQ my first try at this knife (unfortunately it wasn't my materials) I usually see just as many HQ knives as i do NQ ones, so I'm thinking the HQ rate must be fairly good, like the Hickory/Picaroon's Shields.

I know that this is used to pop an NM.
Ignoring the fact that it can be used to pop an NM - does anyone know how to activate the latent effect on this weapon?
I messed around with mp, but it would not activate at 0/0 mp, 12/30 mp, or 30/30 mp. The damage was the same each time, and was lower on average than the damage of a garuda dagger (19 damage). So it doesn't appear to be MP related. Any other ideas?

it has to do with Weapon skill points, I'm not sure the exact numbers, but someone said you need 300.
in other words, 300 weapon skills, 150 skill chains, or 100 lvl 2 skill chains

I was wondering this myself. Was thinking maybe it would kick in if you had deoderize cast on you.

Deoderize effects go away when you attack a mob or get hit. Only possible way for that to work would be for a first-hit-only strat. And most latents have a consistant way for them to work.
Testing ideas: Tonberry Hate, HP, subjobs, Ugg. Pendant. Or having something else tonberry related (like one of there other knives/katanas) equipped. Possible on sub-hand only, or a sun or main job related.
I highly doubt it is like a Trials weapon though. Those seem pretty unique, with the latent actually serving some sick purpose of SE.
