This is an improvement over Brass Xiphos because it is made of Iron.
If Final Fantasy XI was an offline game with the same storyline (up until Chains of Promathia), it would've been one of the greatest RPGs ever made.
from what i have read, and observed in my crafting experience.
sub crafts need to be at 1/2 the lvl of main craft.
so in this case would require bonecraft of 14.
and if you are under 14 bone you may get alot of breaks and/or skill ups

I have smithing lvl 23 and made 9 of these to lvl up smithing with advanced smithing synth support. I got 0.7 up smithing and 1.2 up bonecraft from lvl 5 to 6. I had only 3 breaks, one critical, so over all I had a pretty good success rate. I'd wager the bonecraft cap isn't much higher than 10

I think this is a pretty decent weapon for a red mage at this level. On our server, (Hades), it's only around 10k as of three days. /tell me some time Ethereal. Maybe we can continue our discussion. What level are you besides? Maybe we'll party sometime and I'll show you how whoop ass this sword is. :) Well, see ya around.
