Aern Organ
Drop rate seems to be roughly 40-50% (for the organ) from Om'Aerns. Much lower on Ul'Aerns...maybe 10-15%? The Om'Aerns aren't much harder, either. An exp-style party will have no trouble whatsoever with them.
Unless you have an Om'Yovra land on you during the fight.

You may be thinking of the Aerns in the palace and garden; Om'Aern droprate is nowhere near 40% - 20 kills yielded a single Fire Cluster and nothing more. Also, they are duo-able by SAM+WHM, but expect some downtime.

After a lot more killing, Om'Aern seem to have a ~5% droprate with /THF TH1 during ~60% moon.
Edit again:
4/22 on Ul'Aerns. This is not to say their droprate is 20%ish, I probably just got lucky, but it DOES seem to be a heck of a lot better than Om'Aerns.

Went about 0/30 last night on the Eo' versions of these. A couple of days before i went about 0/15 on the Om' versions. Today I went outside and ended up with 2/4 on the Ul' ones to complete my Wind Obi. The drop rate is retarded sometimes but it does seem that the Ul' versions drop more organs.
Collect these for the Gorget and Belt quests "In the Name of Science" in the Tavnazian Safehold, Aern also drop Tissue samples, Very low drop rate, and will no drop if the Aern Reraises.
Aern are fun to fight though. =^.^=
