getting the ring

I have one question. What level should you do the quests for this ring?

OH! As your level increases, so does the Mind etc on this increase right?

getting the ring

Level 75 for the later promathia missions is essential, some of the earlier missions are mostly just cutscenes until the promys, which are 30 cap. there's a lot of different level cap missions, but i believe the last few are uncapped and require level 75 parties to complete

each chapter has a different cap, chapter 1 (promies)is 30 cap, chapter 2 (tavnazian safehold, minotaur, etc.) is 40 cap, chapter 3 (mamets and whatnot) is 50 cap, etc. you can predict what the cap on the mission will be by adding 10 to the previous chapter's cap. i'm not 100% sure if there's a 70 cap, it might just jump to 75, but i'll go check that in a minute. a 75 blm in my LS got this ring the other day... it is soooooooo damn good, specially for Rdm. MND,INT,&MP+ all in one ring {Yes, please.}
Worth the trip to get

Most of the questions I get about this ring are "What drops it?". Then you have to explain to them that there is life in CoP beyond the low lvl Promys and Mammet ^^

Get a CoP Static and show up for your static! You'll be glad you did.

Wouldnt it just be easier to say..
<this would be the point where anyone who doesnt know would begin take interest>
This ring is attained by completion of all COP missions. Just like in the "Divine Might" bc
you will be given the choice of one of the three rings".
So the secret is out, everyone knows now, and I suspect the face of vana'diel will be changed now and forever.

Note: this is based on my inquires of ppl who have the ring, i dont have it yet. but all of them said When you finish cop you get the ring choice.

This is true. I, myself, have a Tamas ring. You must complete up THROUGH chapter 8 of CoP to obtain the option of one of the three rings. Tamas, Sattva, and Rajas rings.

I was able to sell off one ring of each of my pairs from different levels, as this ring easily replaces them. ^_^ It's greaaaaaat~

Rate Up Ryly... Just wanted to clear up a typo on your post ("Sattva" and not "Satva") and also post a few descriptions of the "COP" rings, which YES I have read a lot about but have a long way to go to obtain 1 yet.

Tamas Ring: @lvl30 MP+15, MND+2, INT+2 and then gains MP+5, MND+1, INT+1 for each 15 lvls thereafter. (all levels: enmity -3)
Jobs to Benefit: RDM, BLM, WHM, SMN (mages)

Rajas Ring: @lvl30 STR+2, DEX+2 and then gains STR+1, DEX+1 for each 15 lvls thereafter. (all levels: store TP+5, subtle blow+5)
Jobs to Benefit: DRK, DRG, MNK, SAM, THF (melee)

Sattva Ring: @lvl30 HP+15, VIT+2, AGI+2 and then gains HP+5, VIT+1, AGI+1 for each 15 lvls thereafter. (all levels: enmity +3)
Jobs to Benefit: PLD, NIN, WAR, RNG (tanks)

While not a tank and I'm only a lvl 15 THF, from what I've read THFs could benefit from either Sattva or Rajas due to their need for AGI, DEX, STR however I placed them more under Rajas ring.

RNG I wasn't sure where to place so please post if I'm wrong (only lvl 1 RNG) however it seems to me that the Sattva Ring was best place for them, not because they should tank (I don't believe that all), but because AGI, HP, and VIT seem like they'd be a good fit.

Good post, though I would place RNG under Raja's ring, since STR increases RAtt damage and most weapon skills; Dex increases melee acc for a little extra tp for those rng that engage the mobs; Store tp +5 is super for any job that wants to use ws, and subtle blow (for anyone who isn't aware) reduces the amount of tp gained by the mob when you hit it (which is good for all non-mages).

In short, mages use tamas, PLD use Sattva (and maybe NIN for agi and enmity+ but end game a nin will want Raja's instead) and all other melee will want Raja's.

Apart from NIN, the other job that I would be torn between is BLU. Either Raja's or Tama's.

From my understanding of RNGs (not sure about endgame), the emnity+ on the Sattva ring disqualifies any chance it has to be viable equipment. Ranged accuracy is far more important than all of those stats for RNGs anyway, and can be easily gained from rings.

Otherwise a good post on info not easily found, gj ^^;

I picked up mine the other day, and OMFG.

As a RDM, this ring is honestly the best thing that's ever been added. Without it, for equivalent stats (with a BUNCH of negatives), you need an Aqua Ring (2-3million on Kujata), Snow Ring (2-3million), an Ether Ring (2-3million), and an Enmity-3 ring (which doesn't exist). Grand total? 6-9million + the valueless Enmity-3.

NICE.
hidden atribute?

are there any more hidden fetures to the ring that arent listed, b/c someone on LS said there was lol

They couldn't have put a little CHR on this too? ;_;

I don't get why none of them have a CHR increase, BRD kind of loses out here. I'll get +5 MP and -3 enmity from this ring when all is said and done, would be great to have a CHR boost to go with that.

# Sep 19 2005 at 1:29 PM Rating: Decent
this ring is so super duper, at lvl 75 its like a ether ring + Snow Ring + whatever the mnd+5 ring is AND its got -3enmity, thats great, got mine a few weeks ago & i love it, i imediatly (sp) could tell the -3enmity, with merits + gear im @ -15 enmity or somethin, but the -3 from this made a difference

I just got my Tamas Ring yesterday, and I can't stop looking at it. >.< I can't believe we made it.. I don't have a lv75 job, I don't have sky, I don't have rank 10.. but I finished CoP allright. >:)

Btw, this ring gives 28 MP, 4 INT and 4 MND at lv71.

jeez, when the time comes for me to choose, it's going to be a hard choice between this and Rajas ring (the DD one). See Rajas would be great for my SAM, but i dont plan on doing this until my SAM is higher level, and i plan to level a Mage job next, so Tamas Ring would be nice... decisions, decisions. I guess i'll decide when the time comes.

Also, what's the name of the Tank ring?

Complete the Chains of Promathia storyline. After the BC battle at the Empyreal Paradox as part of Chapter 8-4, there are about a dozen more cut scenes. You get this in one of the last of those.
Can you get multiple rings?
# Aug 02 2005 at 2:01 PM Rating: Default
If there are multiple rings, is there anyway to get more than one, or to trade them around? Completing the mission again for another ring, or trading it to a special NPC? I personally plan to level at least one of each job type (tank, DD, mage), so I cannot pick just one. ><

In RotZ there is an alliance battle against all 5 Ark Angels at once. The reward is an earring of your choice. You can't ever pick another one, and they can't be traded etc as they are RARE/EX.

Likewise at the end of CoP you get the choice between 3 rings, and they are also RARE/EX. So choose wisely.
RE: Can you get multiple rings?
# Aug 09 2005 at 2:21 PM Rating: Decent
you can pick a different earring from DM and a different ring from this mission. All you have to do is complete the mission again with a different character. good luck =0

stats increase every 15 levels

@30 INT+2 MND+2 MP+15
@45 INT+3 MND+3 MP+20
@60 INT+4 MND+4 MP+25
@75 INT+5 MND+5 MP+30

the Enmity-3 is a constant so is always applied.

This Ring is obtained after beating the final chaper of CoP and is one of three possible choices. The other two are a DD ring (STR, DEX, Subtle Blow, Store TP) and a Tank ring (VIT, AGI, HP, Enmity+).

Correct stats for this one are:

MP+15~30, INT+2~5, MND+2~5, Enmity-3. Rare/EX Ring Lv.30

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v339/mihoxping/tamas_ring.jpg

The ~ means the stats vary based on certain conditions, in the case of this ring and the other two CoP rings, it's the level you are when you equip it. If equipped at level 30 it's the lowest stats listed, but if equipped at 75 it's the highest stats listed, with some variation in-between. So in effect, it's always the best thing you could be wearing if it matches your job's desired stats.

Best mission reward ever. >_>

This ring and all the rings like it are the ****.

If you don't want one of them, it's only because you don't know they exist / how insanely crazy-go-nuts OMFGWTFBBQ they are.
