Hitting 52 DRG, I wanted these back for when I went back to Monk. In the past, I killed this ***** over ten times, many of which had a friend with TH4. When I finally did get them, it was alone, as a low-50s Thief. x.x;
Went out, and there was a WHM leveling their NPC in the area. I try to be a nice guy, and leave if someone's camping an NM like this. Asked them several times if they were hunting it, but they failed to respond ONCE... So, I camped it. Maybe ten minutes later after killing a few statues, they popped.
Blinded them (/NIN), and went to work. They hit hard, but not too accurate at that level. Took them down (And yes, used a WS... I was getting worried with their damage), and... Boreas Cesti.
1/1 on this, and Kote.
No matter how many times I quit this game, it seems I'm destined to be a Monk.

I'm working on the "El Monk Fauregandi Temas Tres", or simply as I call it, the "The Monks Fauregandi Three"... (NM's: Nue, Kirata, Western Shadow)
First stop on my list was Kirata. This tiger is weak and probably one of the easier NM's that I have camped in a long time. The road to this NM is hardly troded on, except those trying to get through to Batallia Downs north access. Everytime that I was there, there were no other players camping against me. The area surrounding the tower (H/I-10) is surround by Two Tundra Tigers, Two Living Statues, and 1 of each of the Goblins; Pathfinder (with tiger pet), Poacher, Reaper, Robber, and Smithy. All between level 37-41.

When Kirata popped for me, he appeared either just outside the front face of the tower, or directly to the east of the tower. I'm not entirely sure how storng he is to lower levels but with capped and merited EVA, I was never hit once and I didn't even bring Shehei Tools for Shadows as THF/NIN.
I don't believe any new campers should be worried about this guy, he is more than likely the easiest of the three that im after.

OK, I have half-ass camped this thing once and I had to go because of LS business. Well, I decided to try again and grab a pair for an upcoming Promy run for memebers in the LS that are without. And we're heading to Phomiuna next weekend.
Anyhow, get up there about 8:00 and start killing with a friend. She runs out about 9:00 to mule and get ready for Promy. I kept killing here and there with one other person out there. I changed windows for a sec to talk to a friend on Yahoo! and saw a tiger pop in front of me. I jumped when I saw Kirata.
I don my battle gear and get to work. I Chakra'd once to replenish to replenish lost health at the very beginning, but I soon found that his hits were't bad enough to phase me with Dodge on. I used no 2hours, and no Weapon Skills (I'm paranoid and believe some rumors). I land that last hit and lo and behold. I am now 1/1 on Kirata. I seriously could not believe it.
Happy hunting, folks! May you be as lucky as me.

everything everyone says about the PHs is right but dont listen to theories of no ws ect.
just be viligant and camp if u dont get the claim or the drop dont worry note TOD and keep camping killing PHs. i advise against loggin or going afk so u can control PH repop time and hopefully get it to pop at the 1.5hr mark.

If from what Theodoric is saying which i'm not sure of, would these h2h be good up to lv 50-52 X-counters/T.M. Hooks? mnk is only lv 27 have yet to test em and not sure unless i ask a lv 40mnk to camp these, tell me when they get it, and parser said person with these and then equip lv 40's then equip lv 50's h2h weapon... thanks for the replies in advanced ^^

To those who know me on Lakshmi, you all know I'm a Rare/Ex collector of sorts. Well, to make a long story short, I saw these on the Hand to Hand page and had to try them out.
I thought to myself, the stats don't look all that spectacular, they must have a certain aspet that makes them worthy. Well, Lynx Baghnakahs have lower delay, same damage. Cougar have same damage and close delay with Ice damage. What is it that makes these worthy of coming off such a pain in the arse NM(1/3 for those of you who didn't know). Lemme tell you why these are something special for MNK.
They parse the additional Wind Damage 100% of the time(excluding finishing blows and WS's). That's adds up very quickly, and it also essentially raises the DoT damage to that of a DMG: 10-12 knuckles. Very impressive. Not to mention, if you master mind your parties like I do for max damage, that includes SC's that Magic Burst with Wind. That means you can throw up to 2 small Magic Bursts as a MNK!!! The Wind damage seems to do about 4-10 damage per hit, MB'd 20-25 damage.
So for you higher lvl Guys out there that plan on lvling MNK, it would be a good time investment to seek these out. The NM is easy to kill above lvl 55, and the fact is, these are no doubt one of a kind. I hope some of this info is helpful to you all.

Well my whm friends wants a fei yin key for his tele scroll i agree to go out there and get him one i want to try subbing war. So we head out there i OPW he shouts for a tele.

I remember reading about they only drop when she does added wind with i had SS up and she doing on damage but there is the added affect... so that puts me in good spirits.

I would use them until lvl 38, when you can get Mythril Knuckles +1.
And keep those kote, because they are about the best hand gear you can get for straight up damage, unless you get the very rare and very expensive alkyoneus bracelets or bandomusha kote.

I just finished my first XP PT with these. As has been mentioned, the average add'l effect damage is 5-7. At the of the party, the parser showed I did 18134 in damage PLUS 2024 in effect damage, which is a 13% increase over a weapon with just Damage: +6 Delay: +48 (not necessarily Republic Knuckles).
3 days in a row freezing my taru butt off, 3 kills, finally got this lovely little toy. /collapse ......but it was worth it :)

After changing into Rng60/Nin30 I outpost warped to Fauregandi and headed to (H-10) where I settled in the tower. There were already two Living Statues there so I killed those and the remaining Tundra Tiger outside. After about 55 minutes of camping and killing statues and tigers, I see Kirata pop on widescan, head out and attack it. It popped during Waning Crescent (14%) Darksday. THe NM had about 3800 HP, was relatively weak. Nevertheless it dropped the Cesti so I'm 1/1 on it! Happy hunting for those looking for this.

So I was out there for about a total of 5 hours with my THF and my RNG friend. IT IS VERY VITAL TO KILL ONE DOLL! And don't kill the other, just let the tigers keep spawning and killing them. I noticed he likes to pop at night time with both times I seen him. Hopes this helps and can't wait to hit 30 with my MNK. ^^

Hi, I logged in and killed the two dolls and the tiger. Kirata then promptly spawned at sometime around 6:00 gametime, in case you were thinking that it just spawned at night.

The NM is lottery tundra tiger @ H-10 of beaucedine glacier, i'd say easily soloable 50+ but recomemend that you decide to go after this guy when you of a lvl where the gob's won't aggro due to the fact there are lots of gobs near the Kirata spawn...

This weapon is hellish and all monks hitting 30 should consider obtaining this. I replaced my Republic Knuckles with this at 30 and found them to be overpowering in all aspects (lower delay + permanent Enaero).

Just got this great little piece of gear today. Took a 74 PLD friend along (thanks Knight!) and I went as whm/thf. There were two others that came along and ran off after seeing two of us camping. Fight was easy, spawned to the east of the tower the two times ive seen it pop. Windsday, First Quarter moon (45%) dark weather going. 1/1 whoosh whoosh!

Just for reference, it's a very leisure task to solo spawning and fighting Kirata as a 50MNK/25WHM with a Hundred Fists. If it's too easy or boring, it's still possible to take on without the 2-Hour (and a whole lot more fun, if I do say so myself!)

Obtaining them:
I ran out to Beaucedine Glacier as my THF, and my Fav BRD (level69) just in case it wasn't soloable at level 52. Went at 90ish+ Moon phase. Killed the two tigers by tower @H-10 one repopped, the other didn't. About 3 minutes after killing the first repop, I spotted Kitara (sp). That's the tiger that drops them. Waited for Smokebud (Taru BRD) to regain MP, since we were playing with the gobbies (Sleep SATA onto BRD), and pulled to safe area. The fight was not hard at all. Still uncertain if soloable by 52THF, but maybe I'll try next time we get a pair for LS. Total time to get these including travel, about 50 minutes Teleport-Vahzl. Being that no one camps this NM, I assume the lottery pop window is normally open.
BTW, 1/1 on drop with a Blk. Tiger Fang.

Yes, first off, we decided to see what increases wind damage. Nothing what so ever. BRD played all + Stat songs, with no increase in damage to additional effect on too weak mobs. The additional effect on Too Weak mobs ranges from 5-7 per punch, including Counter. One time counter did not result in wind damage though. So perhaps it's 99% additional effect. No the counter did not kill it. we both checked the battle log. Anyways, in ballista it did range from 5-7 damage per hit. On one play it had 1 additional damage per hit, but they might have been buffed vs wind, or simply had resistance to wind. On players not buffed it did 5-7 damage each punch, which made landing punches hella fun in ballista 30.

I went to train my NPC in B.G and decided to camp this guy. first day, i waited 1 hour killing Tigers and he spawned... no drop. Went the second day and got it with in 2 hours or so. spawns h-10 around tower. great h2h weapon

I went 1/4 on them. As previously stated (and this is important) the two tigers share a spawn with one of the two Living Dolls. They can spawn all around the tower, but not into the passages into the mountainside. Time for respawns for me were 1h15, 2h20, and 2h15. Happy hunting.

It doesn't say it drops from a BCNM, it says it drops from Macan Gadungan. Through some accident, this tiger NM had the same name generated for it as the coeurl NM in "Wild Wild Whiskers", the giddeus 3 man bc60. Not long afterwards, this tiger's name was changed to Kirata.

I was trying out ballista 30 in jugner with my blm, and a monk came up and owned me with these. The wind effect wasn't excessively strong, but PC have no elemental affinities. If used on the right mob, it could probably do quite a bit of damage with added effect. Like said, great fun with hundred fists.
hmmm, affinities, an attraction? I looked it up cause I didn't know it but pretty sure you used it improperly. Anyways, PC's do have "weaknesses" to elements. Just watch a THF wearing a Kote that gives -fire get one shoted by a bomb toss in bibki bay or a PLD with a bomb queen ring. So I would say having -wind resistance on in Ballista would cause you to take more DMG.

Hmm, by affinity, I think he meant elemental power. We're not naturaly +fire defense or +water defense, we're neutral. Meaning, that we are neither strong nor weak to any elemement. [So basicaly, we're don't have an affinity [attraction[ to the element of wind, so we're not strong vs it, or weak to it, if your wearing certain types of gear]

how much additional damage do they add at a time? would suck if it adds 0 every time... it'd be pointless... well won't work on wind & ice based mobs i'd guess... and, is there anyway to get More out of the additional damage? like wear more MND maybe?

The mob this is dropped from had it's name changed from Macan Gadangan to Kirata, since there was already a Macan Gadangan (single Coeurl BC).
There are 2 place holders for Kirata. 2 tigers that can pop around the tower, though one is a shared pop with the 2nd Statue in the tower.

It's Additional effect kicks in ALL THE TIME, so basicly this weapon gives you "En-Aero".
