It may be completely useless for Aht Urhgan, but in Dynamis and HNM this earring is invaluable for a PLD.
Just got this today; 1/2 on the NM. I got the ToD thanks to a THF in my LS who happened to stumble across him by chance and get the drop, so I was there the next day with no competition, but didn't get the drop.
NM is very easy, and is easily soloed by a 75PLD/37WAR. He has the standard Ant attacks, so its worth taking an Echo Drop or two in case he decides to silence you. Beware that he also has Eagle Eye Shot, however with Sentinel up he only nabbed me for 50-60 dmg both times.
On the second attempt I claimed again, and kited him around a bit until the same THF who got me the ToD came along to help out. With TH2 I got the drop. ^.^

Also I believe that sneak attack and trick attack are both effected equally by dex and agi respectively. Since using SA without TA is pretty uncommon in xp parties a net stat change of 3(agi) is better then a net stat change of 2 (dex/agi). This is assuming that each adds *3 per stat. Personally after playing rdm and thf my inv is normally 50/60 of solid swap gear.
Also hp is uber, esp for taru plds. A taru pld with more hp means they don't get one shotted by some nasty mobs. Spending 50mp and then switching to this can mean the best of both worlds too. Gogo gear swapping.
...I don't have a problem... just cause I have 4 entire sets of armor for all my characters just means I am prepared!!!!!

DEX effects Sneak Attack far more than AGI effects Trick Attack. Why don't you level your Thief high enough to get Trick Attack before you say how gimpy a piece of equip is for a job that you don't have the essential abilities for yet? Hmm? Sounds like a plan. Ready, set, go!

Actually, AGI affects Trick Attack in exactly the same proportion as DEX affects Sneak Attack.
Perhaps you should check your info before correcting others.

This is the best earring for NIN at 75 if you wear osode & Ungur. You get a total of +38mp. so the earring will net you +38hp.
End game is pretty much all about hp.

Just my 2 cents.. After I've used up the 80 MP I get from Serket/Ether rings, I swap them for DEF, DEX, or MND rings, depending on what I'm doing.
Then again, I carry around a crazy amount of alternate gear. :p
Edit: I said I swapped my MP rings for MP rings by accident. Lol. o.O

With lesser MP doesnt mean that you will have less cure, with Taru PLD, you will always having loads of extra mp to cast cure not mention when you will get refresh when you reach lvl 40+ party.
This not only give extra 40HP, it give extra dex and agi.. Its luxury for other job too.. Planning to get it for my whm and use it when i'm soloing some mob ^_^

0/1 on him now. Insainly easy to solo as 75NIN/1RNG. From my guess he may be around the same level as the other RNG ants in the area, just with the tipical NM HP and ATTK.

I dont need much mp, it gets to the point that I generate too much hate curing myself that the mandags just wont leave me alone, so now I dont cure myself anymore.

Makes a good earring for a Paladin.
Outside of your own nation's control, converts 40 MP to HP.
It is good thf gear. I managed to get one the day after the last 18 hour patch (ie when it was introduced).
The nm is a rng type antican, but it significantly harder than those around it. It aggroed a lvl ~62 whm who was afk, I was whm71/rng24 (some friends were hunting bloodtear on my account) and I was going to change to /blm to warp to jeuno.
It overpowered me. I did not have hexa strike at the time, and w/o blink the arrows were hitting me for about 120-160 w/ protect 4. I called in some help from a ~62whm/3rng who was also farming and a 74brd/37whm (already in the zone). The 3 of us killed it easily, no exp gained. The earing dropped and I was allowed to take it as it was my claim.
Great for skillups, but not the most useful earing for me.
I understand that the nm is a lottery spawn with other rng ants in the area, but it was dumb luck for me. If I can get fraps running, I'll take a screenshot and post it.
