i went on all my CoP missions as samurai with this thing equipped. it is the most fun ive ever had using any weapon in the game. this thing is a blast lol.
Just a warning to all samurai, i am 0/30 on this NM as of now. i am currently in a run and the greed of people is so amazing. we have whm's and brd's who claim to be helping yet win the lots over 75SAM's when they havent even unlocked the job yet.
I've be beaten 30 times in a lot, i recently lotted a 5, yes a god damn 5. thats not counting all the times ive wiped trying to fight it. this item is not worth it. dont try unless you go with RL friends. its actually funny now when i see my lots, i wait to see a 900+ and get amazed by 200's and laugh like crazy.
ill post screenshots of all my lots later if i can find them. do not try for this item you'll just be dissapointed in the end.
EDIT: Now 1/35 on this NM, was 3rd last in the alliance to get it, if you guys see this thx, glad the hell is over -.-

This katana makes me drool... I know so many people that say it sucks... but they aren't samurai's :3
I actually pt'd with a mithra samurai who had this, and she built TP faster than the WAR with a kraken club, and YES she did solo SC!!!

The damage on it is pretty low, really a choice over fast TP + weak WS or normal TP gain + strong WS with Hagun

@lv60 sam/war i am raping these raptors at Vally of sorrow left and right. And the Tank is hating me. And with the new zones, this is a godsend.
Dont recommand using this against IT and high def mobs, like crabs. Use a regular GKT instead

A TP building, WS spamming Hoe! My favorite GK, got this a while back with the help of my LS. Now I exp right up there in TP Burn parties with no probs. Self Light, Self Darkness SCs easily.
The damage is nothing to gape at but when you can spam a WS every 15-22 seconds... who's complaining?
I get 5 WS's off in like 45+ seconds with meditate. (Glee)

just got this yesterday for my 50sam (now 51). pt for unstable cluster was:
mnk/nin (me)
pld
nin

thf
brd
brd
blm
whm
rdm
pld tanked, nins alternated SATA. blm was on full-time stun duty (nuked during recast timer). my brd gave me&nin minuet and madrigal, blm march for stun recast (took off 5 secs if i remember). pretty sure other brd was doing mambo and ballad.
fight was somewhat tough, but went smooth. if i remember, the only death was the nin once or twice. use that setup and throw on a few more blm and maybe another whm and you should definitely have no trouble whatsoever. smn spamming buffs wouldn't hurt either, but certainly isn't necessary.
we went 1/5 on drop. going back to get 3 or 4 more for friends soon. note: thf went to bed after second fight (he was there for the drop). so without an engaged thf we went 0/3.

This is da worst GKT ever! ya know why? cause with 57SAM my highest i got no way of beating Unstable Cluster...

OMG i was there! a SAM friend of mine offered 200k to each that helped and mine was going to be second but our WHM and BLM had to go.
At first i was mad but life b4 game so no vendetta there, plus a diff friend's Dynamis might help so i wanna try and get da gil 2gether to pay them even if they wish no payment. (might b Good bye O.Kote T_T)
but hey i want this to bad! any aditional help on Remora is welcomed incase this transaction dont go through. /tell Vijitt

Riverne - Site #B01 is a lvl 50 cap, so your 57 sam shouldn't have a problem. but you would still need a party/alliance.

my pm static did this last night. We went 1/3 on drops. Luckily, the one that did drop was mine. ^^
I tried it out, and its well worth the trouble of getting it. The nm isn't all that hard either, and the pop items are very common off the Nitro Clusters in and around the spawn area.

this fight isnt really that hard. we did it with 10 ppl (NINx2 BLMx2 SAMx2 BRD THF SMN WHM) and did good. we had the NINs tank off eachother while SMN uses earthen ward as soon as its ready and the BLMs stunned while the SAMs backup stunned incase a BLMs was casting a spell when the NM was using self-destruct. and the BRD went BRD/BLM to ES+elegy. the only thing that would hurt me and the other NIN really was when he would do that AoE move then attack when SS wasnt ready, other than that the fight was easy.^^ i say go with like 2-4 NINs and 1-2 SMNs if you want this katana. its really good btw, my friend spammed like 3 WSs in 10 secs... O_o

im lvl 36 when i hit 50 if going to get it how do you get to the place it drops???
verry verry nice weapon. Lvling ninja, i keep hate great against any kind of dd. But a sam had this in one of my pts and gave me a very hard job of keeping hate. is very worth it for sspamming gekko

I'll comment about the drop rate...
So far my LS has killed this NM about 20 times.
Out of the 20, I think we got 5.
Word of advice for getting this GKT:
Bring a THF, and don't let them die, the drop rate isn't too great... (15-20%)
And to comment about the GKT itself, the SAMs in my LS say it's good from 50-75, activation rate is high, and WSs were increased greatly...
The only downside... Can a tank keep up with hate? lol

I've actually partied with a HL friend that actually has this weapon and he coupled it with a warrior sub too... The 2-3 attacks I say procs alot. Although the dmg on the weapon was low, he was attacking and double attacking and attacking 2-3 times per swing interval so he was outdamaging me per my parser. And I wont even get into how many ws he was doing...
So for all those that say that the dmg on the weapon is what is holding them back from getting this weapon you need to keep an open mind and take another look at the possiblities.
I'm going to try and get one myself.

if you used this gk on fafnir you arent to bright lol mobs unlike us get more tp for being hit than scoring hits so you were feeding it mad tp fool XD all i can say is wow .... wow .....

Here is a lil info in my experience with the Gk. I am a 75 sam and ranger for a little backround and i aquired this Gk and i can honestly tell you this is one superb weapon. I say that cause i actually use in on ground hnm like Fafnir all the time. This is how i use it.
I build my tp and use my Ushikirimaru for the first ws using meditate pre-battle. After my intial ws i sub the Soboro in. Why? Cause no matter if i hit for 1 damage on faffy i get 15 tp minimum depending on your armor setup. If it hits for 2 or three like it usually does , thats at least 30-45 tp in 1 go around.
Now you may say so what the damage sucks and yes it does, but if you consider what our jobs are supposed to be which is to be a skill chain monster for a blm to burst on, thats exactly what i was. Nevermind the fact that i did 200-300 damage on faffy. It was the fact that i easily chained with 3 poeple with only moderate use of meditate easily. he blm mages were bursting for over 900-1k and faffy was taken down in 22 minutes which is importantant considering the new god mode aspects added to hnm.
Yes i wouldved loved to be the uber damage dealing samurai but imagine chaining with 3 poeple cause of the tp gain from this Gk. Imo this Gk is a godsend, you just have to overlook the weak damage output and consider what our jobs as sam is supposed to be. Hope my experiences help ya out laterz

Instead of subbing RNG like it sounds like you do, you could sub WAR and use Berserk, and at your lvl, Warcry. The low damage will be fixed well for three minutes ;)
He never said he was using RNG sub, he just said that he's 75 with SAM and RNG. If anything, he was probably using THF sub to SATA his WSs (making sure that they land and boosting damage).

Your Weapon skills will suck, even though you might get an extra one in there. I think you might be able to get away with using it til 60. But dmg 40 blows. Youll probably do a little more normal dmg then the pld.

You're an idiot. If you're a Samurai, which I hope to God you're not, please... quit the job NOW. If you dont know that a Samurai is mainly concerned with TP, which this GKT gives you in GREAT SUPPLY, then you're an idiot. WS dmg really doesn't matter in the long run. It's about the TP. With this GKT I can solo a Lv 3 Light SC w/o Meditate or Meikyo Shisui.
i am lvl 75 Samurai, over time this Gk builds up massive DMG with WS dmg, yes TP is sams bread and butter no crap fool, but STR can fix your Dmg rate withthe GK, KTHXBI. but seriously, a Samurais main concern is NOT ONLY TP, its WS DMG AND CONDUCTING SC's. If you pull your pld shield out your uptight *** you prob see that

A well equipped Samuria for Store: TP and this GK, omg, devistation lmao. I am leveling samurai now, I thought My Katayama Ichimonji was good new stuff, its Mercurial Sword for Samurais, only less delay and 12 levels earlier lol. Kudos to all samurais who use this ar 50^ ^

(62 GS war/pld dmg ~23 delay 480,occasionally attacks 2-3 times) then this sword is going to be just about the sweetest thing,cause i use my merc sword for GS skillup,and ill on avg get like 2 to 4 swings per "attack round". imagine this sword in the hands of a "Store TP" pumped SAM.....
