good for rdm 50? really?
# Oct 10 2006 at 1:23 PM Rating: Decent
i have the body peice and havent taken it to exp party yet as rdm. i got it for when im main healing or when im the only nuker. i figure it helps keep the hate on the nin tanks. i want to take it to exp party but u know how peeps can critisize your gear at that level. i just cant really find a body peice @50 that i like other than this or the glamor jupon which i cant get right yet.
I want full set for BST.
# Apr 30 2006 at 2:05 PM Rating: Decent
Man this sounds good to me, the EVA+ and - Enmity would rock for BST since we want pet to tank but we can draw hate.

So much EVA+ must be very nice when fighting T mobs, I am BST/NIN (most the time) so would help out allot.

Hello! havnt posted on here before, but finally got my account up! YAY!
I was just wondering, as WHM50/BLM25, would this be worth buying for good, or only untill i get my AF? it is aLOT of enmity-, of course if you have a decent party it really shouldnt be neccesarry... Just wondering if anyone 51-56ish had been using this and accually getting some use out of it. thanks in advance.

Yep, I am WHM 54 and have been using this since 50. I have realised its much harder to get hate off people by healing them, so this item I like very much ^^/

man this thing is great... i love it on mnk.. you guys already know mnk pulls a lot of hate when punching.. with this thing i can go berserk hitting the mob he barely looks at me .. and when i do take hate like last night the crab misses a lot when i use dodge. i recommend the body and pants until you get af pants for all the monks..

MNK AF legs are for soloing or skilling up.

Think: Solo farming? I would have used this on my thf/nin (now retired) all the way to 75 for farming. (With the -emnity, I have this mental image of the mob wandering off after a while, turning his back on me... lol, wrong thing to do with thief). Oh well, maybe someday I will come back to the game.

good for thf?
# Oct 13 2005 at 7:01 PM Rating: Decent
i was wondering would this be good for a thf lvl 50-60 while waiting for you AF/Scorpion Harness(if you can afford it 7-8mil on Bahamut). i was wondering would the -enmity be good for SATA. from my point of view it seems that -enmity would allow you to SATA off anyone and not steal hate from a tank so you wouldnt need a 2nd voke. if someone could give me there thoughts please. thanks^^

no this is not good for thf in a exp PT setting, possibly ballista but thats a different story.

Thf uses Emnity to stick their SATA. (hense the thf AF2 having lots of +emnity and +Chr)

and the +evasion _Should_ only help for when u pull because a good thf wont get hit during the actual fight ^-^)b (sata should do the trick unless ur tank sux)

and even if u wanted this for pulling, chances are u have thf/nin and u have utsusemi so u wont take dmg neways.... just my 2 cents

have a good one ^^ hope this is useful

ffxi.cannotlinkto has this listed as
Clothcraft 68
Goldsmithing 40
Leathercraft (?)

Anyone have any idea what level leathercraft is required...?
RE: Crafting levels...?
# Dec 17 2005 at 5:53 PM Rating: Decent
I would have to guess the goldsmithing lv needed for this is lower the 40, but not by much. If you think about it, silver ingots (for lvling up) caps at 18. That would probably be a good reason while you got goldsmithing skill up. So if you have around 20s both gold and leather you should be ok.

Materials are running about 1M if you buy them out of the Auction House on Leviathan, but sell for 100-120k per, so if your lucky, you can get your gil back and some skill ups. That is a rare thing in Clothcrafting.

Cloth 62.2
Gold 28
Leather 27
RE: Crafting levels...?
# Oct 12 2005 at 8:30 PM Rating: Decent
I made one of these the other night.
Now I got .1 leather and .2 goldsmithing which took my goldsmithing to lvl 9. So I belive the goldsmithing requirement is much lower as with the Noct Set I was not been able to attempt making it till I had some more lvls on leather craft. Kept getting the error that it was below my skill lvl.

94 +2 Cloth
9 Goldsmithing
17 Leather

I'm a blm and im glad this gear isnt for us. The game would seem so rigged to have -50 enmity gear. Yea, we might not have as much int, mp, or elemental skills, but we would never get hit. It would definately take away the excitement. Thank you SE.
I hate to say it.
# Oct 12 2005 at 3:33 PM Rating: Good
I hate to say it but I really have to wonder how good this is for how long.

Yes at level 50 this stuff is great...nothing beats the 20+ -enm that a person can get from this; however, besides RDMs that Nuke or WHMs, I don't see this being useful.

With WHMs, this is good until Artifact which offers less -Enm however offers other things that are overall better. How many WHMs in artifact pull a huge amount of hate when the tank is any shade of decent? Ususally if the WHM pulls hate, a voke can remove it.

DRGs and MNKs maybe but usually their gear is setup for damage over evasion (you never know when a backup voke is needed). This is decent for THF when pulling however it would need to be swapped out for SATA.

Personally, if this was equipable by BLM it would be the best; however since they can't, this is only decent for about 4-6 levels for a WHM and a few more for a RDM.

Just my thoughts on this gear.

This is great for BST because we can melee with our pets and not turn hate and also allow us to sheed hate faster when doing recharms. This would be a total waste for BLMs because it does make it too easy for a BLM to just nuke like hell without the hate.

Well let's look at RDM boots and gloves. Parrying, AGI and DEX are not going to win fights for your party. They're really only good for the MP they give.

Warlock Boots
Def: 13 MP: 11 AGI: 3 Vs. Water: 10
Shield Skill: 10
Warlock Gloves
Def: 16 MP: 12 DEX: 4 Vs. Dark: 10
Parrying Skill: 10

If we ignore those pointless-for-exp-party stats, in exchange for 23 MP, you are gaining -8 Enmity and +9 evasion. That is pretty significant, especially considering RDM AF gives absolutely no -enmity. If you're a main healing RDM, it may even be a good idea to use the whole set (minus the hat for Fast Cast) and macro in the AF for enfeebles and nukes. For RDM, if you can spare the MP this set is far from useless.

Even WHM can get some use out of the set, especialy the boots. The WHM AF boots:

Healer's Duckbills
Def: 12 MP: 10 AGI: 3
Spell interruption rate down: 20%

Not so fantastic. In excahange for 10MP, you gain -4enmity and +4evasion. Might as well get some -enmity out of the boots since they don't give any. Might even consider macroing the healer cap for Cure V and enfeebles and using the Crow beret.

The set has lots of uses really.

Awesome WHM armor.. well.. the body is at least.

-8 enmity at lvl 50 is just ungodly. This piece is awesome for parties. (I know the bplate will still be used for farming and such) And, if you can afford the other pieces, just macro them into Cure IV. Lot of health recovered.. almost no hate, especially when paired against WAR or PLD AF.

P.S. Also noticed a signifigant drop on Asura for Holy Breastplates since this was released. (Used to go for 200k.. now down to 40k o_O;)

I want this stuff for my red mage, not because i need it (rdm is 70), just because i want to have it. It may prove usefull in some LS events where i tend to nuke.....a lot. Other then that i just want it for show because i like the look of it. Full set of Crow is going for just under 700k at the moment on bahamut, lots on AH too.
Leet stuff!
