Can fomor hate be built by killing all Fomors?
Was killing the ones outside of Whitegate earlier, wondered if i went back it would increase my hate by killing some more?
Fun times...

I got this belt a while back. Fairly easy fight actually. I went with the following:

RDM50
NIN50
NIN50
THF50 or BST50 (Did 4 runs total, in that time we had people change jobs)

For all 4 runs we ended up fighting Balor. Fight was fairly easy with that setup just gotta have the NIN's Toss hate back and forth. I think we popped the NM a total of 6 times but 4/6 isn't that bad. We did try to fight the Elvaan NM, forgot name for him though. Got it down to 5% than wiped lol.

So... My CoP LS has recently made our way past Ouryu. Yay. Farmed some Codexes (had a total of 7 for 6 belts...). Started fighting Balor. Originally, we only had one Hume with us, so we were going to go Hume -> Elvaan -> Hume -> Elvaan. First time on Balor, we get our first belt. But, our first time on the Elvaan, we wiped. Twice. Sucked, too, cause it was my codex...

We come back four days later. Maxed hate on those who could spawn AND we picked up two more Humes. 3 humes, all about 10 kills apart (perfect, huh?). We only kill Balor. He drops... 1, 2, 3, 4 more. In a row. My turn comes up, and before we even kill any more fomors, our third hume has enough hate to spawn. We do. We own. And nothing drops. That's right, we went 5/6. And who gets screwed out of a belt? Me. And, since it's an hour past MY bed time, I have to call it off for a night.

Balor, I hope you're sleeping well tonight. You won't be so happy tomorrow.

I stayed up for 58 hours straight to get this. I went 0/9 over just those hours..I wouldn't get drop then I'd go right to farming hate and getting another pickup group for NM. We never wiped, I just never got drop. I got to see the other people go 6/8 on their NMs tho lol. I finally got my belt on 10th codex of that 58 hours.

I just complete 4-2 so i went to check out Sacrarium and there was a party doing Swift Belt runs. They were lacking a thf so I joined them so they Had Treasure Hunter.

Apparently the Mithra NM is the easiest so we fought that one 4 times. Went 3/4 on the drop, with me getting the Killshot(I'm superstitous, along with many others).

We fought the Taru NM once, but No drop. Anyways Drop doesnt seem to be as horrid as I've always heard.

We stacked 2 THF's into a killing party when we did it and went 3/9. When the NM would get to about 5%, we all would turn our backs to make sure the party with the THF's got the kill shot. Seemed to at least help because we were 0/2 with no THF in the party later on that day. Good luck!

Just to reiterate, the THF getting the kill shot has absolutely no effect on drops whatsoever. SE stated this; it can't be any more plain. ^^;

But congrats on your drops. :)

But it does have an effect in terms of which *party* gets the kill shot. Meaning if one group has 6 players in it with no THF, while a THF is in the other party with 3 people, if one of the 6 gets the kill, it does effect treasure hunter in that they won't get the effect. The party with 3 in it kills the mob, TH effect kicks in is the way I have always understood it.

I know SE has stated this may not be the case even in party, but they still can't figure out why we can't kill AV either. So why even risk it when all it takes is a few seconds to turn your back and let the THF party finish it?

If a thf in you party/group/alliance/allegiance has ended the fight on the mobs hate list (1 dagger swing will do it) then TH will become affective.

If there is more than 1 Thf in your party/group/alliance/allegiance then the TH from the THF with the highest TH will be active.

If I had the link to the fairly recent interview with SE, then id link it, but i havnt.

How and When TH becomes active has been answered now. There are no rumors, no 'piece of minds', just facts.

The questions still unanswered about TH are:

What is the difference between trasure Hunter & treasure Hunter II?
How does the treasure Hunter affect work?
Do the +1 TH items add 1% to the TH affect? Does it add 1% to Ttrasure Hunter or Treasure Hunter II?
Does treasure hunter affect different mobs drop rates in different ways?

This is simply not true, SE stated quite recently that THF's only have to land one blow on a monster for TH to be active.

Here's the information.

SE wrote:

Q&A

How does Treasure Hunter effect drops in battlefieds, dynamis, chest contents.

No effect on chests.
Same effect in dynamis etc. as elsewhere.
For TH to be active THF must perform an action on the target. Does not have to be killing strike.

Dude that's exactly what he said. Why are you saying it's not true and then repeating the same thing he said. He said all the THF had to so was do something so that the THF was on the mob hatelist by the end of the fight. Read before trying to correct people.

Spent 12hours+ setting up and commanding the entire thing. Die 5-10 times lose 4K+ exp. Put up with who goes next garabage. EVERYTHING you could ever imagine. I go last... what do you know... no drop, a no more codex. Return to solo for another codex... die 3times thanks to Doom, have to zone out 4-5times thx to Gazer's with eyes in the back of their heads. Finally give up 2hours later, no codex and 0 fomor hate. 15+ hours later and nothing to show for it. Oh and 2days before 0/1 Argus, and then just last night decided to not go to BCNM run with my buddy who went 2/3 on pcharm...

Edit: 0/2....

Edit: 0/3....

Add-in: One problem I have with this sucker is after trading I lose all my hate(of course we all do... but if you didn't get drop you will need max again). I don't want to return on another raid with 0 hate and fomor's inside are too hard to solo. If you wanna raise your hate fight the fomor's outside Sac and B01.

Stegotaur's lower your fomor hate

Just for a note to everyone who don't know. Stegotaur's make you loose fomor hate. I don't know by how much per kill. But me and a party just killed 45 fomors for max hate to pop the NM for this quest. Then we kill alot of Stegotaur's, i don't know how many, but horrible drop rate. By the time everyone has a Fomor Codex and we get to the area to spawn the NM's. We get a message saying we have 0 fomor hate. So we take off sneak to see if its an error, and we don't get no agro. Just thought everyone would like to know incase they try to get the fomor codex's after getting the fomor hate. Belt is very nice though, definately worth a 2nd 7hour run to get it lol, althought the NM's have very low drop rates, so i'd very highly reccomend a thief to be with your party/alliance for this. Goodluck to everyone doing this!

We fought Balor. It requires a Hume with level 4 Forumer hate. The NM really isn't that hard. It uses Eagle Eye Shot which can one shot a ninja if you get caught without shadows along with the usual AOE tp reset, Stunga and 200-400AOE dmg which is blinkable. The hardest part was farming the Codex. The NM isn't much harder then one of the Forumers in the room. Make sure to clear the room to avoid agro and secondly build up some needed hate to pop. We were 5/7 with a thief dealing the final each time. Good Luck!

Oh btw each time you pop it resets the person who popped it's Forumer hate. We just got luck to have enough Humes. FYI we went in with NIN/NIN/THF/MNK/DRG/BLM/BLM/BLM/RDM. The DRG subbed whm and one BLM played a gimped whm due to lack of healing. 2 of the pops one NIN was afk so it is tankable solo, just much safer with 2. Fight lasted less then a minute each time.

Swift belt raid info

Not much info on Alla about getting this, so I'll share what I've put together from a few different sources.. :)

To get the swift belt, you need to spawn a NM in Sacrarium using a Fomor Codex. There are 5 of these NM's; one of each race. You can only spawn the one corresponding to your own race. If you're hume, you can only spawn the hume one, etc.. Keep in mind that Sacrarium is a level 50 cap area.

Fomor Codex is a drop from the Taurus mobs in Sacrarium. You can either fight the higher level ones in a party, or the DC ones near the entrance with 1-2 people, depending on jobs. I've seen most people selling them in bazaars for about 500K.

It would be useful to have the map of Sacrarium.. I got mine last night after a few attempts at picking the chest. Here's a link to the map quest info:
http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/db/quests.html?realm=&fquest=625

Ok, you got your codex, you got your map (if you wanted it..), and you're ready to get your belt.. The NM's will take at least a full party to take out, but I'd suggest bringing a little more. 10-12 people, including at least 2 tanks, would make it a pretty easy job, I'd think. Here's a little more info on the NM's:

First off, the spawn points, where you trade the fomor codex to are the "Stale Drafts" in the fomor-filled class-rooms. To make things easier, clear the room before you spawn the NM, pulling one at a time and fighting just outside the room. You need a certain level of fomor hate to spawn the NM's. Click the Stale Draft, and if you get the message, "Your common sense tells you to leave as quickly as possible," then you have enough hate and can spawn the NM. Now the NM's themselves.. If you're doing more than one, you might want to do them in this order to save time running around: Mithra > Galka > Taru > Elvaan > Hume.

Mithra: Caithleann (RDM/NIN, spawned at F-11)
Uses Chainspell, along with RDM spells and ninjutsu.

Galka: Indich (BRD/PLD, spawned at G-11)
Uses Soulvoice, BRD songs, and PLD spells.

Taru: Lobais (SMN/BLM, spawned at H-5)
Will summon an avatar and use Astral Flow (ouch!), and uses other SMN and BLM spells.

Elvaan: Luaith (THF/WAR, spawned at G-5)
Uses Perfect Dodge and attacks very fast with double+triple attack.

Hume: Balor (RNG/MNK, spawned at F-5)
Uses Eagle Eye Shot and MNK WS's.

Good luck getting your swift belt. I'm trying to get a raid together soon, so wish me luck too. ^^; Almost forgot to mention.. The belt drop isn't 100% (Gah ; ;). Anyway, I hope I helped. Please rate up if I did. ^^

There is no F*@king way i'll pay the price asked for the Speed belt... no one will really, it has more-or-less become a "LS owned" item on Ramuh. If it drops they give it to LS members to help uberize them as a team.

This belt is FYI, best for NIN or WAR/NIN tanking. Macro in all the Haste gear you can get & presto... you still equip the best belts for fighting (Life Belt, Warwolf Belt...) and get lower utsi cast timers.

simple equation (use of Dual Wield and/or Double Attack enhance gear very helpfull):
Dusk Gloves + Byakko Haidate + Swift Belt + Fuma + Panther Mask + March(x2) + Haste + Slow on Mob = Hundred Katans for a long time and/or uber recast timer for usti: ni

Belts with Haste are very nice for Alliance fights due to the lagless equip change for macros.

It's been along time since I've played NIN, but if I remember right Haste Spell will add about 5% (I do know it's a very nice reduction to recast timers).

Little tip for Haste gear... if you're going WHM/NIN then maybe it would be best to have it on at all times, since +MP gear wouldn't help by swiching it out every cast... plus I'm sure you'll cast better and more spells than a NIN/WAR ;) but... Belts, earrings, rings, necks, ... non-visable gear will swich in-n-out instantly and lag or "flashing char." free making a belt very usefull for macroing into a cast.

I used a gear swap with every Usti cast, reducing my timer to a 27sec recast on Ni with a BRD in my group and still fighting with STR, DEX, AGI, ext bonuses 75% of the time.

BUT also when I reached endgame and started to get the very nice Dual+ stuff and finding that grinding for exp was 10x easier I did go haste/dual+ fulltime making 100% TP a breaze to get :) seemed to put-out more DPS also.

Good Luck with WHM/NIN ^^

Haste spell is 15.6%..... Utsusemi is 45 second normal timer. with just haste spell its 38 seconds. which is a 15.6% difference

A little off. Best to keep your haste+ gear on all the time because it also makes your recast timers go faster. 4% will take a couple seconds off the recast time for utsusemi: ichi and ni, as well as making you cast them faster. I love haste+ gear when I'm fighting as WHM/NIN mostly for this reason, and will make this belt full-time for soloing/tanking once I get it. Blessed hands/legs/feet + swift belt is +14% haste, which will be very nice. I'm not sure what % the haste spell actually adds, but I'd like to find out.. :)

Haste does not make spells cast faster, only fast cast does that.

Haste 'does' make spells faster. Try casting a large recast timed spell. ex. Stoneskin. You'll notice a diffrence.

This is only good if you're stacking haste gear, really.

with a sune-ate, maybe a wyvern earring if thats what you're subbing. you could also stack this with Fast Cast, great for ninja's.

NIN/RDM, Fast Cast + Haste + Warlocks mantle = uberninja

Good and cheap Belt for a Haste Ninja

This Belt is really nice for Ninjas.

Fuma Kyhan or Sune-Ate 3% Haste
Swift Belt 4% Haste

Just this 2 pieces reduce your Utsusemi: Ni recast by 3 seconds.

Add a Byakkos Haidate (5% Haste) @ 75 to that setup and you get a Ni recast of 40secs and 26secs for Ichi.

With this 3 Haste pieces you reduce your delay by 40 or more also. Dunno if Haste adds to DW or is counted in after.

As a Paladin I might want to give this belt a try but I wouldn't expect very much from it. Life Belt is so good.

Not worth the time, effort, or money. Too many alternatives to choose from.

cheap alternative for NIN and possibly MNK who haven't been able to get their brown belts :)

this is not an alternative to brown belt... purple belt gives the same haste but +3str ..so this will not be used by mnks.

Speed/Sonic belt=too expensive. With this and my wyvern earring, haste+9% on my Gax...I could see uses.
not worth it unless maybe for NIN

So lose 7 acc and 5 attack to gain 4% haste? (and probably this belt will be WAY more expensive than the life belt)
