0/1/0/1/0/1/0/0

3/7 isnt too bad we heard horror storys but i got mine off my codex so maybe im biased

but reason im here is to tell u bring a ******** of humes cuz that one is easiest by far and u lose hate when u pop so 1 hume cant pop all of em

Drop rate on this thing sucks bad... we just did a raid and are 0/5 on belt drops.
RE: gay...
# Jan 31 2006 at 12:39 AM Rating: Default
Our LS did a 2nd raid and went 4/5 on the drop, then a 3rd raid and went 2/7 on the drop. I was lucky to get mine... but man... the work it takes to get this thing is not only boring, but it sucks

Not much info on Alla about getting this, so I'll share what I've put together from a few different sources.. :)

To get the swift belt, you need to spawn a NM in Sacrarium using a Fomor Codex. There are 5 of these NM's; one of each race. You can only spawn the one corresponding to your own race. If you're hume, you can only spawn the hume one, etc.. Keep in mind that Sacrarium is a level 50 cap area.

Fomor Codex is a drop from the Taurus mobs in Sacrarium. You can either fight the higher level ones in a party, or the DC ones near the entrance with 1-2 people, depending on jobs. I've seen most people selling them in bazaars for about 500K.

It would be useful to have the map of Sacrarium.. I got mine last night after a few attempts at picking the chest. Here's a link to the map quest info:
http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/db/quests.html?realm=&fquest=625

Ok, you got your codex, you got your map (if you wanted it..), and you're ready to get your belt.. The NM's will take at least a full party to take out, but I'd suggest bringing a little more. 10-12 people, including at least 2 tanks, would make it a pretty easy job, I'd think. Here's a little more info on the NM's:

First off, the spawn points, where you trade the fomor codex to are the "Stale Drafts" in the fomor-filled class-rooms. To make things easier, clear the room before you spawn the NM, pulling one at a time and fighting just outside the room. You need a certain level of fomor hate to spawn the NM's. Click the Stale Draft, and if you get the message, "Your common sense tells you to leave as quickly as possible," then you have enough hate and can spawn the NM. Now the NM's themselves.. If you're doing more than one, you might want to do them in this order to save time running around: Mithra > Galka > Taru > Elvaan > Hume.

Mithra: Caithleann (RDM/NIN, spawned at F-11)
Uses Chainspell, along with RDM spells and ninjutsu.

Galka: Indich (BRD/PLD, spawned at G-11)
Uses Soulvoice, BRD songs, and PLD spells.

Taru: Lobais (SMN/BLM, spawned at H-5)
Will summon an avatar and use Astral Flow (ouch!), and uses other SMN and BLM spells.

Elvaan: Luaith (THF/WAR, spawned at G-5)
Uses Perfect Dodge and attacks very fast with double+triple attack.

Hume: Balor (RNG/MNK, spawned at F-5)
Uses Eagle Eye Shot and MNK WS's.

Good luck getting your swift belt. I'm trying to get a raid together soon, so wish me luck too. ^^; Almost forgot to mention.. The belt drop isn't 100% (Gah ; ;). Anyway, I hope I helped. Please rate up if I did. ^^

There is no F*@king way i'll pay the price asked for the Speed belt... no one will really, it has more-or-less become a "LS owned" item on Ramuh. If it drops they give it to LS members to help uberize them as a team.

This belt is FYI, best for NIN or WAR/NIN tanking. Macro in all the Haste gear you can get & presto... you still equip the best belts for fighting (Life Belt, Warwolf Belt...) and get lower utsi cast timers.

simple equation (use of Dual Wield and/or Double Attack enhance gear very helpfull):
Dusk Gloves + Byakko Haidate + Swift Belt + Fuma + Panther Mask + March(x2) + Haste + Slow on Mob = Hundred Katans for a long time and/or uber recast timer for usti: ni

Belts with Haste are very nice for Alliance fights due to the lagless equip change for macros.

It's been along time since I've played NIN, but if I remember right Haste Spell will add about 5% (I do know it's a very nice reduction to recast timers).

Little tip for Haste gear... if you're going WHM/NIN then maybe it would be best to have it on at all times, since +MP gear wouldn't help by swiching it out every cast... plus I'm sure you'll cast better and more spells than a NIN/WAR ;) but... Belts, earrings, rings, necks, ... non-visable gear will swich in-n-out instantly and lag or "flashing char." free making a belt very usefull for macroing into a cast.

I used a gear swap with every Usti cast, reducing my timer to a 27sec recast on Ni with a BRD in my group and still fighting with STR, DEX, AGI, ext bonuses 75% of the time.

BUT also when I reached endgame and started to get the very nice Dual+ stuff and finding that grinding for exp was 10x easier I did go haste/dual+ fulltime making 100% TP a breaze to get :) seemed to put-out more DPS also.

Good Luck with WHM/NIN ^^

Haste spell is 15.6%..... Utsusemi is 45 second normal timer. with just haste spell its 38 seconds. which is a 15.6% difference

A little off. Best to keep your haste+ gear on all the time because it also makes your recast timers go faster. 4% will take a couple seconds off the recast time for utsusemi: ichi and ni, as well as making you cast them faster. I love haste+ gear when I'm fighting as WHM/NIN mostly for this reason, and will make this belt full-time for soloing/tanking once I get it. Blessed hands/legs/feet + swift belt is +14% haste, which will be very nice. I'm not sure what % the haste spell actually adds, but I'd like to find out.. :)

Haste does not make spells cast faster, only fast cast does that.

Haste 'does' make spells faster. Try casting a large recast timed spell. ex. Stoneskin. You'll notice a diffrence.

seems to me this would be very nice for thf who already has alot of accuracy. nice tp building item.

This is only good if you're stacking haste gear, really.

with a sune-ate, maybe a wyvern earring if thats what you're subbing. you could also stack this with Fast Cast, great for ninja's.

NIN/RDM, Fast Cast + Haste + Warlocks mantle = uberninja
Good and cheap Belt for a Haste Ninja

This Belt is really nice for Ninjas.

Fuma Kyhan or Sune-Ate 3% Haste
Swift Belt 4% Haste

Just this 2 pieces reduce your Utsusemi: Ni recast by 3 seconds.

Add a Byakkos Haidate (5% Haste) @ 75 to that setup and you get a Ni recast of 40secs and 26secs for Ichi.

With this 3 Haste pieces you reduce your delay by 40 or more also. Dunno if Haste adds to DW or is counted in after.

As a Paladin I might want to give this belt a try but I wouldn't expect very much from it. Life Belt is so good.

Not worth the time, effort, or money. Too many alternatives to choose from.
yay
# Oct 15 2005 at 1:19 PM Rating: Decent
cheap alternative for NIN and possibly MNK who haven't been able to get their brown belts :)
RE: yay
# Oct 16 2005 at 2:13 AM Rating: Decent
this is not an alternative to brown belt... purple belt gives the same haste but +3str ..so this will not be used by mnks.

Speed/Sonic belt=too expensive. With this and my wyvern earring, haste+9% on my Gax...I could see uses.
not worth it unless maybe for NIN
# Oct 15 2005 at 7:56 AM Rating: Default
So lose 7 acc and 5 attack to gain 4% haste? (and probably this belt will be WAY more expensive than the life belt)
