What skill will you start HQing gems from rocks? I am currently @ 41 goldsmithy and spent 120k on 24 black rocks hoping to HQ a few of them...My attempts we on Earthsday - Full Moon @ 98%{going up} I faced S{wind HQ direction} for the 1st 12...no luck, then faced SE{wind direction}...no luck either...Someone tell me if i am doing something wrong or just un-lucky....
Factors for crafting success: Crafter's level 5 points or less below cap, Full moon, same day as crystal, day weak to crystal. Factors for HQ: Crafter's level way higher level (30 above as I recall) than cap (to eliminate failures / dunno about effect on HQ directly), New moon, day strong to crystal. As per data for a 48 synths per day test with data for both moon phase and day element, with direction eliminated by the synther facing the same direction each time. The bottom line is, One Hundred Percent More HQ On New Moon + Dark / Day strong to crystal. Talk about significant. A Statistician's dream. http://www.spielmansmog.com/guides/hqsynth.php

Fixed Link... My bad it was nearly 500% as much HQ for all the best factors combined vs all the weakest factors combined...
There is so much wrong with that post it's scary. The only proven factors to HQing are crafting levels above the skill cap of a synth. 11+ 1/10 31+ 1/4 51+ 1/2. <11 lvls from cap gives roughly 1/100. To people who say they have proof for it being otherwise please by all means link me some @#%^ing evidence.

Yeah I think it's random I planted two lots at the exact same time, fed them at the same time and I got Black Rock and Amaryllis from them... Herb + Dark

My roommate took less info on how he grew 2 Black Rocks too, and it is as follows: Veggie seed, feed Dark crystals on Lightsday and harvested 2 Black Rocks on Lightsday.
Yes - using Brass pots, I planted 3 Veggie seeds, fed Dark Crystals and harvested them all at the same time - I got 2 black rocks, 1 black rock, and a Woozyshroom from them.
do you recall under what circumsatnces you were able to grow the stone? Like what seeds were used, planted and harvested on what days, and the crystals used?

If u wanna get light crystals, time the harvest so that the moon cycle is closest to new moon on a darksday.
