for a blu these seem handy, full homam haste set, plus this and some form of haste (refueling or the actual spell) head butt spam ftw! lol
This earring intrigues me. I want it for my THF for solo, to macro in while casting Utsusemi. Combine this with the Homam legs and a full haste setup all while casting utsusemi and you can see a dramatic increase in the speed (for those pesky Ichi casts) to a near 12 sec reduction in recast for Ni. Incredible.

This earring is only a couple of % Fast Cast, and only half of Fast Cast's spellcasting speed enhancement applies to recast. End result? This earring doesn't even lower utsusemi:ni recast by a full second. Macro it in if you want, since it can hardly hurt, but unless it happens to be the little bit of recast reduction that pushes you into another full second off, you will literally get no effect from it for recast.

Yeah, but the earring might literally be contributing nothing to that. Still, if it bumps you up to another full second, I suppose that's something.
This earring is not nearly as impressive as some people seem to think. Yes, it gives any wearer a tiny bit of Fast Cast, but it's an amount so small that people thought it wasn't even there until they did careful tests. As anything but part of a dedicated Fast Cast build, this earring is notable mostly for th nice +mp.

Combining only this earring and homam legs will reduce CASTING TIME by 5% and RECAST TIME by 2.5%. Will you be able to tell? Definitely. Will it make an incredible difference? No. It might save you in 1 out of 100 situations and likely doesn't justify an inventory slot for a non mage job.

clearly you know nothing of spell casting cause haste DOES effect recast time!

AND its given mp, not traded for taru soul hp to make our total hp 102. Best earring hands down for me woooot wooot, can't wait can't wait, can't wait. Not to mention that when I get this baby, im selling my phantom +1 which will be a nice return. Also not to mention that combining this with Magnetic Earring drops you a wopping 50 mp GIVEN not traded for hp. <<<<3333
just for clarification, /rdm is not needed for effect to take place, nor do you have to have any type of previous fast cast in order for this to take effect. If you have absolutely 0 fastcast, you will still benefit from it. It's no different than any other "Enhances fast cast effect" gear that exists. I extensively tested rostrum pumps for the same purpose for hours on end.

with Brutal Earrings u get "Double Attack" even with /THF therefore we are not totaly sure whether or not this does actualy "give" or "Enhance" most people got their panties in a knot over "Enhances" well look at Rostrum or Brutal, Rostrum "Enhances" "Fast Cast" and Brutal "Enhances" "Double Attack" and u dont need /RDM or /WAR for either, ill let you guys do the math, and if u know nothing about this earring Ie. havnt used or been told by someone who "has" used or "has" in general then please simply shut up and dont try and justify whether or not u need /RDM or not.
Im WHM62 and climbing ill have WHM75 in prolly 3-4 weeks and this earring REALLY quick i have 3 linkshells that do Limbus on differenet days so i should get this earring fairly quick. and i will reply / post you guys with more information about this earring. or ill just ask a friend to test whether or not u need /RDM

I have this earring and I would like to clear up all the misinformation that people have posted about it on this page.
This Earring gives you Fast Cast if you do not already have it.
The Fast Cast given is Fast Cast .5, in other words - it reduces your recast time on every spell by a flat .5 seconds and takes %5 off the actual cast time. Because the display for the recast timer only shows whole numbers, you will not allways see the time reduced in the window. For Example:
As NIN/WAR without this earring or any haste gear, when I cast Utsusemi: Ni using the menu and leave the spell highlighted, the recast countdown starts at 45. When I then equip the Loquatious Earring and perform the same test, the countdown starts at 44. (it is actually 44.5 but the timer rounds to the closest second so 43.6 - 44.5 display as "44" I know it seems like 44.5 would round up to 45, but the way its programmed to count is to round up to the next number displayed and 44 is displayed after 45) When I equip 8% haste and do not equip the Loq. Earring the recast starts at 41. (It is actually 41.4) Now with 8% haste if I equip the earring it will still show a recast of 41.(It is actually 40.9 rounded to 41) With 11% haste my recast time without earring is 40 seconds (40.05) and with the earring it is 39. (39.55)
What if you already have Fast Cast?
What if you are a rdm or /rdm? Well fast cast 1 gives you 1 second off spell recasts and 10% reduction in spell cast time so you would be getting Fast Cast 1.5 if you had this and Fast Cast 1 from rdm sub. One reason I got this earring is because I was told that it was 5% haste on spellcasting. It's a very obvious effect that can be seen in exp party situations (where obviously the PLD isn't subbing BST) and one that proves "enhances" = "adds".

I'm not entirely convinced the Fast Cast works all the time, there may be something random to it. I just got this earring a little while ago and have been casting Refresh on myself over and over again.
With AF1 hat, AF2 body and this earring my results seem to be split. About half the time my Refresh will go off at 40-45%, the other half, it goes off at 50%. O_o

Has anyone tested whether or not this works w/o rdm main or sub? The rostrum pumps work w/o rdm main or sub so I have a feeling that this item may do the same.

Dear God -.-;; how wrong one person can be. Enhances Generally means it will/can kick in despite any conditions. Don't get Enhances and Latents mixed up. It is proven that you DO NOT need RDM Main or Sub for certain Enhances "Fast Cast" items, I doubt this is any different. ancient coins drop like crazy in limbus and a nin can solo 10-20 of them in the time limit. Get a few more people to help and you can probably clear a floor or two. You won't finish that limbus in time but you will get a lot more coins than you would with a full alliance splitting them up.

I just got sea a few weeks ago and started limbus. I am currently at 27 ancient beastcoins atm moment, but as soon as i get 75 ill get this earring for rdm and post how effective this earing is and how much it improves "Fast Cast"
It will take me a few more months to get 75 coins so i would appreciate it if someone who already has this could post some tests on this earring.

Does the fast cast from this earring stack with the fast cast of rostrum pumps? If so, that would be sweet . . . along with the +60 mp from the two items combined isn't bad either.

yes it does give you fast cast without being rdm or /rdm and does stack with rostrums. and seeing as rdm cant even equip rostrums its obvious it works on other jobs . hope this helped

that's why the brutal earring makes me double attack without having war subbed as a drk/thf. not everyone knows it all until it's tested. ive heard u need rdm subbed for it to work tho, but heard brutal earring works without so...whatever
