desynthing Moblin Mail (which everyone knows) and Moblin Helms. It is rare to Desyth these into Gold Ingots, i'd say 1 out of 15 desyths will get you 1. I'm Lvl 53 Goldsmithing and the advance support doesn't seem to improve my results, maybe i need to be at a higher lvl to increase chances
that is so lucky for you 2.8 million on gold ingots there is only 1.2 million on fairly but the gold ore is like 40k 40k x4 = 160k pre ingot and 160k x 12 = 1.92 million to make a stake of gold ingots which is 720k lost + the AH fee vv
Here is a shining ray of hope for all you budding goldsmithies out there. :) I have successfully desynthed a gold ingot from Moblin Mail twice today while mining in Oldtown Movapolis. Found two set of the mail in about 30 minutes and got the ingot both times. Found a couple more sets of the mail and got either bronze or brass ingots (can't remember which) from both of those. Now I know the gold ingot has to be the rare H.Q. desynth, but 2/4 is pretty good in my book. :) I'm sure the actual odds are much worse. Also, I do not know the goldsmithing level required to accomplish this desynth, but mine is currently 37. I DID fail a few times attempting the desynth, but did not lose any materials. Now for the good part: Currently on the Ifrit server, these are selling for 150,000 gil each and 1.75M gil per stack. O.o A little simple math will tell you that I made 300K inside of 30 minutes with my only investment being some pickaxes(I farmed the lightning clusters while running from mining point to mining point). Anyway, I hope this helps someone out there because us amateur goldsmithies need all the help we can get! >.<

I hate these things. In sylph, you spent 60-65K for materials to make one ingot, then you sell them for 55k each or 58k each in a stack. >.< up to 10k loss per synth if you succeed. Does it only get worse?

As of september '05, Basatok AH (and pretty much any AH that has it) on Fairy server is selling materials for gold ingot at 25k/piece.. so it costs 100k to make. The ingots are also going for 100-110k/piece at all the AHs that have them.
This, along with 100k price tag on the Painite, makes Gobbiebag III a very expensive proposition.. in other owrds, get your gobibe bags II and IV then craft or farm your buns off to pay back the debt!

These are now selling for 70k on the Jeuno AH pretty consistently (on Bismarck). For some reason, they are selling ridiculously well and could very easily go to 75-80k soon.
