Has anyone tried to use the new "tanning" key item recipe with these hides? It doesn't seem to be working for me, I keep getting "that combination of materials cannot be synthesized" or whatever. Someone else try it?

The hide itself is often sold for 1k in Jeuno. I would usually buy up a bulk and send them to my Leathercraft mule. I've always dreaded trying to farm tigers in B.Glacier and try to gather up the hides to cap out LC to 60 :(

BUT, now that this item was introduced, it made the trip much more comfortable. Also, the Cato leather itself can be sold back for ~700gil if you don't care to hold onto them, but for the pure skillups.

Skillups came by nicely, and so far it has taken me from 51 to 56.8 where I stand today. Since Bibiki is the new popular leveling spots, hides should come by frequently as long as you don't give in and pay 3k or something and keep the prices high, this stage should be very cheap.

There's been so many of these new items that there seems to be no uses for. Getting ready for future recipies in the expansion maybe?
