has anyone tried this skill yet with cateblopas hides? I know this site and somepage both say it works, but it doesn't for me. Can someone else try it to see if it's just me doing something wrong?

How can you all say this is not worth the GP? If you make leathers for profit, you can make them faster, and get on to other thins, Say your ram farming, wouldn't you rather be able to make 3 at once to be ready for next spawn?

I bought it because i need coeurl leathers for my skill synth, and not i can make them 3 times as fast and get to skilling faster.

Maybe it's just me, but i love this thing.

these GP items are exactly like woodworkings Lumberjack, you use 1 vat and you must use 3 skins, esentially it helps out by saving crystals but more importantly, time

Yep, a Tanning Vat is involved somehow, because Dark Crystal + Windurstian Tea Leaves + Distilled Water + Ram Skin x2 or x3 doesn't work ><

I bought a stack of tanning vats at the guild shop yesterday, at the time was 75g for each. I don't know whether or not this price fluctuates like the other items. The generic recipe for 3 leathers is as follows:

1x Dark Crystal
3x (whatever hide/skin you're using)
3x Windurstian Tea Leaves
1x Distilled Water (yes that's ONE water)

Black Belt: O, 5/5 Usukane

This might let you tan or refine multiple skins with one crystal, by throwing all of them into a vat.

Ya I was confused at first too, but then I saw there's a "Tanning Vat" item you need. Stackable to 12. I'm about to check the guild shop to see if they sell them. More info when i find out. :P

Edit - Tanning Vats sold for 75gil each at the guild, but i still dont' know how to use them >.>;;

I'm presuming the recipes will be like the alchemy Trituration: a crystal + tanning vat + water + tanning agent (windurst tea, log, which ever) + X number of animal skins.

If anyone cares to try, you can experiment: simply change any leather recipe to use 3 skins instead of one, plus a vat.
