Having never used one of these... is it as simple as equipping one, and you get the 'effects' automatically?...(for 30min).. what do you need to do to get another 30min shot?

This mantle is great, I'm a 55 PLD and still using it. Anyways, Use the item, lasts 30 mins... then just use it again over and over until all 50 charges are gone. They go for like 50k at AH (1k per charge?) I've only had to buy like 2 or 3 of them, never leave home w/o it!

Just something I want to add to this to possibly put this item into better perspective for others...
The item has 50 charges and each charge lasts 30 minutes. The effect is removed upon death, zoning, or removing this item. If you focus on that logic, each of these mantles has up to 25hrs of +5 enm and +38hp. That's a long time of benefit.

this is just like any other enchantment item, you lose the enchantment once you unequip.
This is one of the most overpowered items in the game. And I love it! I have only ever seen one other person use one in one of my parties, but I try to get the word out. The 80k this thing goes for lasts you many levels. Mine is at about half charges and I started using it at 36 and am 45 now. The effect is always on when I tank. I will probably have to buy one more around 53 and it will get me to Amemet Mantle +1.
Get the word out! Your tank having a butt load more hate lets the whole party do more damage.

I will be using this for tanking in dynamis (until I get my hands on the Valor Cape). Would also be good for manaburn and fistburn PTs. I will be using one anytime I have problems holding hate. The HP is a nice bonus.

This could be one of the items that makes blink tanks more effective in missions, for example when the Mammet stops following its kiter and smacks around the Whm.
These may actually be helpful in practical use, for example, Paladins and Ninjas could pop it right before a SC, and it could paste hate for the next half hour. 30*50 = 1500 Minutes. This could let Tarus tank better too.
