PlayOnline Announcement

Hi everyone! My name is Mumor, a fresh new starlet who loves to dance and sing!I'd love to perform a pretty little number for you right now, but we'll have to take a rain check on the fun, because something terrible is about to happen. My manager-well, daddy-has intercepted super secret information on the evil demon king, Ullegore. Apparently, Ullegore is scheming to gate-crash this year's Sunbreeze Festival and ruin it for everyone. But don't you worry! I won't let anything like that happen...because your smiles of happiness are worth fighting for!

*The Sunbreeze Festival is scheduled to take place from 1:00 am on Friday, August 1 until 1:00 am on Monday, August 18.

Prologue

A long, long time ago, on a starry night different from no other, a lone meteorite fell from the bejeweled sky unbeknownst to the slumbering denizens of Vana'diel. From the superheated core of this extraterrestrial rock emerged an entity of unadulterated evil-the physical manifestation of darkness itself. The name of this twisted being was Ullegore.

His sole purpose: the complete and utter eradication of joy and jubilance from the face of the world.

And so it was that the self-styled demon king, Ullegore, set out to perpetrate his nefarious plot to plunge Vana'diel into an unending era of eternal gloom. He traversed the world over in search of any opportunity to corrupt the essence of festivals-the pinnacle of celebration in civilization-with bitterness. A wave of his cadaverous hand saw smiles wiped off the faces of unwary festival-goers. Soaring spirits were brought to heel, and minds were instilled with a wretched mélange of sorrow, despair, and regret. With nihilistic pleasure, Ullegore rendered enthralling fireworks limp with dampness, reduced refreshingly sweet snow cones to a sticky dripping mess, and transformed perky, luminescent goldfish into decisively unattractive moat carp.

It was when the people were pushed perilously close to the edge of hopelessness that a dauntless defender of justice and all that is good and fun appeared.

The name of this indefatigable heroine was Mumor.

Her power: the ability to convert the boisterous support of loving fans into a formidable force with which to vanquish evil.

An aspiring young starlet, Mumor tirelessly devoted herself to undoing the damage dealt by Ullegore, restoring smiles and laughter to festivals and, in the process, endeared herself to scores of fans with her vivacity and girl-next-door good looks.

But it was only a matter of time before she would have to come face to face with this new evil tormenting the realm...

"Mumor, my dear! The Sunbreeze Festival on the two central continents will be Ullegore's next target! Make haste, before all is lost!"

So ordered by her father, the genius inventor Professor Sarmoega, Mumor hightailed her way to the Sunbreeze Festival in the guise of "Fantastic Fraulein Mumor," an ordinary stage performer. But nothing could have prepared her for the stifling air of melancholy that pervaded the festival site upon her arrival. In the place of hordes of fans, lining up for a glimpse of their favorite frolicking fraulein, was an oppressive void of deathly silence.

"The Sunbreeze Festival will suffer an unimaginable fate if I don't put a stop to Ullegore. But, without my fans here to cheer me on, I'm completely powerless..."

Only with the hearty encouragement of her fans will Mumor be able to accumulate sufficient power to unleash her ultimate attack, the Dancing Force, and forever put an end to the evil demon king and his vile aspirations.

"Everyone, please lend me your strength! I need you now more than ever!"

Mumor is in dire need of your aid!

Answer the call by cheering her on in her decisive battle against the irrepressibly evil demon king, Ullegore, at a Sunbreeze Festival stage near you!

Mumor's Celebrity Profile

Currently touring the land as a top-selling stage performer, Mumor is the only daughter of Professor Sarmoega, undisputed genius inventor and head of the Research Institute for Paranormal Phenomenon (RIPP). Her true identity, however, is that of a superpower-imbued fighter who has received special training specifically in preparation for her destined battle against the evil demon king, Ullegore. With her father's miraculous invention, the aptly named "Miracle Wand" in hand, Mumor transforms from an affable if somewhat ungraceful young lady into the irresistibly adorable superheroine, Fantastic Fraulein Mumor. Her claim to fame is the ability to convert the boisterous support of loving fans into a formidable force which, when fully charged, can be used to unleash an ultimate attack against the enemy for massive damage.

Okay, here's what to do with Mumor & Ullegore to get the bathing suit top and bottom. The event is almost over, but I know a lot of people still haven't done it. You have to help Mumor defeat Ullegore by "synchronizing" dances 30 times (15 per bathing suit piece) with Mumor against Ullegore (with him targeted when you dance), as the dances are her special attacks against him.

Make 6 macros:

/clap (name this macro "Clap")
/cheer (name this macro "Cheer")
/dance1 (name this macro "Samba," for Shining Summer Samba)
/dance2 (name this macro "Waltz," for... I don't remember the name but it's her Waltz)
/dance3 (name this macro "NeoJig," for Neo Crystal Jig)
/dance4 (name this macro "SupJig," for Super Crusher Jig)

You can jump into this at any time; you don't have to be there from the first dance. You also don't have to do it all at once if you have other, more pressing engagements... which you probably do!

Target Mumor and when she starts fighting Ullegore, cheer her on and clap for her. I'm not sure about the clapping, but people have said they noticed it takes longer for Mumor to do her special attacks if no one is clapping in addition to cheering. I dunno, but I just do it.

When Mumor says something like, "And now for my special attack," Ullegore will basically scoff at her in response. Take this time to target Ullegore and be ready with your dance macros super-quick. The moment she says the name of the dance attack she does at him, you hit your macro for the corresponding dance (remember, target Ullegore for this, since you're "attacking" him with the dance).

After you dance at Ullegore, switch back to Mumor to cheer her on until she gets ready to dance at Ullegore again, at which time you target him and get ready to dance.

If she does her Samba, you do yours right away.
If she does her Waltz, you do yours right away.
Neo Crystal Jig, yours right away.
Super Crusher Jig, yours right away.

Do it quickly enough, and every time, you'll see this message:

"(Your character name) and Mumor's dancing is synchronized"

She switches the dances, so you have to be quick with your macros.

After 15 synchros you may speak to the Moogle who tells you about Mumor & Ullegore to get your bathing suit top. 15 more gets you the bottom. Less than 15 gets you nice fireworks (yes, I'm one of the silly girls who loves fireworks), and after you have the bathing suit top and bottom you can still do it to get fireworks if you like. This Moogle is near the Mumor & Ullegore area in each nation. In San d'Oria he's across from the gate to West Ronfaure in Northern San d'Oria.

Until the event ends, you may wear your bathing suit and talk to the teleport Moogle (in each nation he's very near the event game area), and he'll teleport you for free between the three nations. Also, wear the bathing suit to play the event games (a different one for each nation) and win on "hard" mode to get a balloon (key item, not inventory). When you have all three, speak to the Moogle you got the suit from to get your +1 (HQ) bathing suit, but don't throw away your NQ bathing suit (like I did) because the teleport is only for the NQ; he won't teleport you if you're wearing the HQ. I threw mine away, thinking the HQ replaced the NQ, and I had to go dance all over again for the NQ because I was loving the free teleports. I took advantage and did a bunch of quests that required a lot of travel between countries.

The HQ suit is fun because its enchantment is a free teleport every five days or so (I'm not looking at it right now) to Purgonorgo Isle, where the HQ bathing suit from last year comes in handy, so bring that if you have it. (If you don't, you may buy if from a set of Moogles near the Moogle who tells you about Mumor and Ullegore. I think it's way prettier than this year's, too)

Oh, and as for the event food given as prizes for winning the games, it's not that great but sometimes I use it at the beginning of a battle with a mob for a little HP or MP boost that wears off after like five minutes. The food probably has minuses too, but I haven't really looked.

The Goldfish Scooping is fun and worthwhile, but I'll wait for someone else to post about that because this is a crazy-long post already.
