Mission Orders

Assist the Manustery in the creation of Cardians. You must go to the southeastern magic tower of the Horutoto Ruins in East Sarutabaruta, and energize the Mana Orbs that serve as the hearts of the Cardians. Inquire at the Manustery first for details.

Walkthrough

After you get the mission from a gate guard, go to the Manustery at (H-9) in Windurst Woods and talk to Apururu to view a cutscene. She will give you six of the key item: Dark Mana Orb. Go to the Southeast tower at (J-11) of East Sarutabaruta map and talk to Pore-Ohre inside the tower entrance. After a cutscene, he will give you a key item: Southeastern Star Charm. This item is required to open a door inside the tower. Go in to the Outer Horutoto Ruins.

Your map should indicate that you are in the Marguerite Tower. Follow the stairs until you come to a large room. There is a Magical Gizmo located at the four corners of the room. You have to examine all six gizmos in the area. The remaining two gizmos are located behind cracked walls, located at the North and South ends of the room. Be aware that there are Balloon mobs in this area.

Once you have examined all six gizmos, go to the "Cracked Wall" at the East wall of the main room. There is a door that is locked and you can't get through but when you examine it you get another cutscene and you have powered up the orbs you dropped at the six gizmos. Now you have to go back to all six gizmos and pick up the orbs you dropped off there. When you examine each gizmo, you get another cutscene and a key item: Glowing Mana Orb. Once you have all six, go back to the West end of the room to exit the tower. Once you zone out, you get another cutscene.

Return to the Manustery in Windurst Woods and talk to Apururu to complete the mission. If you die on your way out of the tower, you can still talk to Apururu to finish.

Im a BLM lv7. I did this with a fighter level 8 as tank. I only attacked if he was already killing and from afar... Did the whole thing without a hitch. Only thing is that there was a level 33 killing bombs in the area...

So THIS is the reason the door said "Shut tight" or similar when I had to open it??? I had put the 6 orbs into place but couldn't open the door.
Please add this to the mission description!!!

Balloons

The balloons in here are tough on those pre-level 10. Make sure you take them on as a group if you're low-level.

I did this baby solo at level 6 as a Black Mage. I only died about 8 times doing it and lost level 6 several times as well. But I kept at it getting one or two orbs a trip and finally finished it.

My Experience

This mission is possible at almost any level solo if:

(A) You don't mind dieing -- a lot. Just run in, click an orb, and keep on running.

(B) You're sneaky and just follow behind people as they clear out an area, then simply move in and click the orbs.

(C) Are high enough level to kill balloons which are level 8 - 10ish and hit around 18 - 26 a shot.

*****SPOILER BELOW*****

There are three hidden rooms in this area which lie inbetween each orb station on the outside wall. In these hidden paths (double click on the wall to open them), you will find two more Orb stands, as well as the switch you will need to flip once all the orbs are in place.

*****SPOILER ABOVE*****

I did this quest solo as a Level 8 Thief by avoiding combat, although I did die once in the process.

I completed this one as a level 7 black mage grouped with a level 8 monk, with only a couple close fights.
