This quest, at least for windhurst, is not called "Appointment to Jeuno", but "A New Journey" instead.

I led a party through this mission for rank 4 last night. The breakdown for the different floors shown above is very accurate. The people I was with were all low to mid level 30's and pretty much everything agrod them. Luckily everything checked to weak for me so we cut down everything in our path fairly quickly. We used caution around areas where gobs or gigas were thick and were able to avoid most links. Got to the top and after defeating mimas and not getting any keys we proceded to go to where polyphorian(spelling?) spawned and there were some high levels farming there. They were kind enough to not take his next spawn when I explained that we were there to get rank 4 for the party members. Even had a mage, level 51?(annon) join us since we had 5 members, and we defeated the nm in less than a min and got the 6 keys.
What I forgot was that when I did rank 4 I got a key and had left it at the mog house. What a time to remember you can hold only one.Smiley: banghead
I was left on the 10th floor while my party went downstairs. They were able to complete the rank but one member died after getting the cutscene.

So, it was a success, but Remember Your Key if you are helping a party and already did this before. On a positive note, it was fairly quick walking down since nothing agrod me.

do u think a lvl 60+ pld and a lvl 36 pld and a lvl 36 whm could this? or would adding a 45 sam be a better chance?

Erm... I'm pretty sure the 60+ PLD could cut a more than wide enough swath thru that place for the 2 lower lvl to just walk on through >:-P

I just hit 54 today and was wondering if I could solo this because some LS mates are asking for help. After reading all these posts, I'm not certain I can solo it, but I'm going to try. I'll post the results when I'm done.
Level 30 Pld/War

I was hoping to do this. And luckily, with lots of luck, I did. Kinda hard to convince some higher level ppl to help out. I did end up getting a lvl 55 pld from my LS. And that was it. AFter watching him kill everything on the first floor I decided that this was gonna take 3 hours. Once we got to the first set of stairs (guarded by some bogy's and a few Giants) I decided to try and tap the LS once more. Thank Altana that Fujikofujio just logged onto the Lakshmi server. He was in Bastok. Probably ready to go fishing. I asked for his help and he agreed! Then another level 30 LS member Moiraine said she still needed to go do it to. So, me and the lvl 55 pld Ramai wait it out. I decide to go afk, when I come back, there's a lvl 50+ sam in pt: Hakai (i believe that was her name ^^). Once Fuji and Moiraine got to Lower Delk it was a breeze. I had the map with the markings (posted down below, deep in the message board) which was very helpful. Our sam Hukai turned out to be a farmer there, and walked us straight there. As long as you have at least 1 whm or rdm and 1 DD, both of high level that wont get aggro, you should be fine. Those little marks on the map that say "drop down" don't mean you should, they're saying don't. Good luck, for I am now Rank 4!
Our pt was: Ramai Pld 55, Fujikofujio Whm 45+, Hukai Sam 50+, Moiraine Rdm 30+, Wintercastle Pld 30+. Good luck, it is alot of fun.

Just did this with the following party:
- WHM40/BLM17
- RDM40/BLM17 (me)
- SAM42/WAR21

Very easy. You just have to watch out for aggros in the tower. The NM itself is easy as pie.

Wrong Title

The Title of this mission in Windurst is called
"A New Journey" I got worried cause this was the mission and this website said it was called "Appointment to Jeuno". So i accepted the mission and realized it was the same mission. So you might wanna change that.

Humm... I do not want to look mean... but Actually (since you got on San d'Oria's Missions) this is "Appointment to Jeuno"... if you want its name change... then head to the Windurst Missions section.

Lucius is in the building to the right from the Presidential building, and the farthest from the office. The building should be named 'Bastokan Consulate' or something like that.

I'm from Bastok, and I went and got the key ahead of time, then left Qufim and went back to Bastok.

I talked to the gate guard at Port Bastok, the guy who's standing next to the Galka. I picked the mission, "Jeuno" and headed up to the Metalworks top floor and to the presidential office. I talked to Iron Eater, he just said, "You can only go into the president's office if you're a high-rank adventurer or on mission business" or something along similar lines. I then checked Naji, who had in previous missions started cutscenes involved with Lucius. He again, said something along the similar lines of Iron Eater, "Not allowed to go in if you don't have business with the president" Again, nothing started.

I checked my missions menu, and the mission "Jeuno" was the current mission I was on. It even said to go talk to Lucius. It'd help, if I could get in and talk to him to start this mission.

I think I might zone, and try again, or talk to Cid just in case.

Lucius is not in that building. He is in one of the four buildings outside of that building. I forget which one exactly, but its next to one of the embassies.

In Windurst the title of this mission is "A New Journey" not "Appointment to Jeuno"

Might wanna change that..
completed - 42 rdm, 40 pld - no problem
# Aug 09 2004 at 1:12 PM Rating: Default
I am a 42 rdm - me and 40 pld friend waltzed thru this mission no problem. 1st few floors nothing agroed us, middle delkfutt some guys were easy prey so we just used sneak/invis pretty much the whole way to Porphyrius. We built up a little TP killing the giants around him, we attacked him and 1 skillchain -> magic burst later he went down in like 30 seconds we didnt even have to cast cure. My guess is if you didn't want to get agroed walking thru and don't have sneak or invis, you probably need to be level 45 or so.

Like others have said, there is no need for an alliance. A party in the low to mid 30s could complete this mission with a bit of teamwork. I did this mission tonight with 4 other people, ranging from level 31 to 35. Took about 3 hours. Having a couple of WHMs for sneak and invisible helped immensely. Basically you just sneak your way past the big rooms full of mobs, and take out the few stragglers blocking the way in the smaller isolated corridors.

Be ready when you teleport to the 7th floor, you come out in a big room with lots of gobbies and bats, and you'll be visible due to using the teleporter. Also, you can't use the teleporter if you're fighting a mob. Maybe binding/sleeping the mob out of striking distance away from the teleporter will work. Otherwise you have to fight.

Porphyrion wasn't that hard, but the other giants and elementals in the room pose a real threat if they add. Recommend cleaning the room out first to avoid any surprises.

My party was:
PLD 34/WAR 17
RNG 34/WAR 17
WHM 35/SMN 17
BLM 34/WHM 17
WHM 31/BLM 15

I did this with my Linkshell ^^

About 8 of us all together, it was so fun, we had a low lvl with us though (39?) and anything would aggro him so we had fun killing EVERYTHING we came across, it was awesome. Our LS leader knew where to go and stuff, so... this was a really great experience. It's fun to do things in large groups.

This mission is time consuming, but you gotta do it no matter what, so bring a couple friends who need to do it too and have fun!
Level 56 blm/whm & level 40 thf/nin

Can a level 56 blm/whm with key & a level 40 thf/nin solo this mission with this map http://www.bass64.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=1526#1526 ? If not which part, why, and about how long would it take us?

I got help from a LS member (lvl45 BLM) who said she knew the way and didn't. There was a lot of sneak and invis casting. Those pots and chaos idols scared the %$!& out of me. We finally got to the top and BLM's friend (lvl50 PAL) helped kill NM. They told me to wait at teleport pad while they killed it. 45 seconds later I was lotting for a key! Took the elevator, got cut scene. The BLM stayed up there to fight elementals so I was left walking around lower floor looking for exit. Didn't die once and got my Rank 4 with a little loot.

I don't recommend a large party to go up there. I was constantly casting sneak and invis. I couldn't imagine an alliance doing all of that casting. It would take you FOREVER to get to the top.

Did this mission last night with a 50pld, and 45rhm, 28thf, and myself 30war/mnk, we all needed it except for pld. Whipped through it in about 2hrs. Pld handled all toughies like magic pots and the final NM to get key drop. Rhm cast inv and sneak on us the entire time so that we didn't have to go buy oils or pinch. Was really easy with the right party. GL!
Problem

OK, my missions list shows the Jeuno mission, but I can't get the letter of recommendation from Lucius. I've finished the Four Musketeers, got the cutscene for that, got the next mission from Cleades,(skipped the mines mission) but no letter.
Any ideas on how to fix this?

You don't even need a full party to do this mission. If you just find a high lvl person, you'll be fine. I found a lvl 74 WAR who helped and it was really easy. It was me as a lvl 36 WHM and another RDM around lvl 40. The RDM and I just used Sneak and Invisible to get to the top and the lvl 74 WAR did all the killing. We sat back and watched as she killed Porphyrion in a couple hits. It was a lot easier than I thought it would be. I reccomend looking for a high lvl person also, just skip the alliance.
I'd appreciate some help here...
