Mission Orders

Capture the three magicites in Davoi, Beadeaux, and Castle Oztroja to prevent the Shadow Lord's return.

Walkthrough

This mission may need an alliance and or high level assistance. This mission can take up to several hours, depending on your setup!

Jeuno

Head to Ru'Lude Gardens and talk to your Ambassador. He will then give you a key item to obtain an audience with the Archduke of Jeuno. After the cutscene, you need to obtain key items to gain access to the strongholds of the beastmen.

Take the letter the Duke gave you and present it to Aldo of the Tenshodo inside Neptune's Spire in Lower Jeuno. If you are not a member of the Tenshodo you must become one before you can continue this mission. Either complete the quest for membership or buy a scroll from the Auction House. After a cutscene you will obtain a Silver Bell as one of the three for access to the Magicite in Beadeaux. Then, talk to Sattal-Mansal and he will tell you to bring him a Quadav Charm and a Quadav Augury Shell so that he can give you the last two key items needed for Beadeaux -- Key Items, Coruscant Rosary and Black Matinee Necklace.

Now, either fight Coeurls in Meriphataud Mountains for Coeurl Meat or buy a piece from the Auction House. Head to Upper Jeuno and talk to Baudin, who is next to a house across from the Chocobo Stables. Once the cutscene is over, trade him the meat and you will receive Davoi Charm.

Finally, just walk between the Armor and Weapon shops and talk to Paya-Sabya. After the cutscene, head to Muckvix's Junk Store in Lower Jeuno and talk to Muckvix in the back room. After a cutscene, you will receive a Yagudo Torch.

Now, it's time to head out.

Davoi

This one is quick and simple, but you may have to fight an Orcish Trooper or Orcish Gladiator at the Wall of Dark Arts. Once you enter Davoi, turn right, take top route to G-7, go to the southernmost point. You'll see the Wall of Dark Arts immediately.

Activate the wall, by clicking on it, pass through, and enter Monastic Cavern. There are no monsters in here, so just follow this to the hollowed out bone wall, click the Magicite, and watch the cutscene. Once everyone is done with that and received Magicite: Optistone, warp back to Jeuno.

Castle Oztroja

Castle Oztroja will either be the longest or second longest task of the mission, because even to level 40+ everything will aggro halfway through, and the Yagudo appear in groups of three and four.

When you enter the castle, head to the door at (I-8). Have everyone stand back and away from the door. Send a Black Mage to test the levers, as if he triggers the trapdoor he can just Escape and come back. The lever combination changes with every game day, so just have one member try them. If the Black Mage is successful, then let him trigger the lever and have everyone else run inside the door.

Once inside, head to the right and up the stairs. You come to an intersection at (I-8) and need to head right. Follow this all the way straight and don't take the right turn at (I-7). Follow this until you come to another intersection, which is also on the second floor of the castle. DO NOT DROP DOWN, as you CAN fall. If you do, you have to start this all over again. Stay near the edge of the walls, and take the tunnel at (G-8), which will eventually lead you to an outside court at (G-7).

Again, you will be on an overpass and DON'T FALL DOWN. Go right and take the tunnel at (I-7). Once you enter the tunnel it's pretty straightforward. Head up the stairs, then down, and follow them until you reach an intersection. You're now heading into the lower depths of Castle Oztroja, where Yagudo Lutenists, Priors, Zealots, and Conquistadors are here, plentiful, and in groups of 2 - 4. If you're in an alliance of 35+ or even 40+, you will have to fight, so prepare yourselves.

Once you reach the intersection at (H-8), head right. Follow this through the bend, and go straight, ignoring the left turn at (G-9), and ignoring the left turn again at (G-9) when you follow the bend (if you look at the map, you'll see it's just a loop anyway). Follow this straight and you'll eventually come to the torch door -- this is what your Key Item: Yagudo Torch is for. Activate one of the two torches and wait for all members to appear on the other side.

Kill the few Yagudo here, and head right at the intersection at (H-10). Open the door, and enter the Altar Room. There's nothing in here, so just follow this to the hollowed out bone wall. Activate the Magicite, and watch the cutscene. Once everyone is done with that and received Magicite: Orustone, warp back to Jeuno.

Beadeaux

This part of the mission is actually easy to complete, but you have to make two trips. The first trip deals with killing the two named Quadav (not Notorious Monsters) and getting enough drops for everyone. This can be either quick, or time consuming, depending on the size of the alliance.

Enter Beadeaux, go straight, and head left at the intersection at (F-7). Follow the bed and go straight, ignoring the open area to the right. Follow the bend and head sound into the tunnel at (H-7). The Land Pugils aggro here, so you may need to kill them for anyone in the the 30s.

Once in the tunnel, follow the winding path down until you reach an intersection at (H-7). Left is the way to the Qulun Dome, and the Magicite. However, you only have one of the three key items needed to open the door, so we need to go right. Follow this path until you come to an intersection, and head right at (G-7), for left is The Afflictor, which will *curse* you. You have to be silenced by The Muter, to not be cursed when walking past The Afflictor. You'll see The Muter and you need to click on it and *activate* it to become muted.

We had a White Mage that had Silena and Cursna, so she didn't get muted, but had everyone else do so. They went ahead and killed all the Quadav in the room of The Afflictor at (G-8), while she just allowed herself to be cursed. She uncursed herself, and cast Silena on the other mages. We let her rest up, and just went on with our business.

Once past the machines, follow the tunnel and ignore the right turn at (F-7) and follow the tunnel out into the above. Follow the tunnel until you come to another Muter machine. Now, here's how you get onto the top platform and avoid the machines. You need to go *clockwise* around this entire area. On other words you need to go from (F-9) east, then southeast to (H-9). Go from here southwest to (H-10), then west and then southwest to (F-10) (the afflicter machines should be *out* of your vision or *north* of you), and finally go west and then north to (E-10) to the little incline leading up onto the above ledges.

You need to follow the southern ridge of this (DON'T FALL OFF!) until you get to (J-9). There will be a little doorway pass with some torches nearby. This is where De'Vyu Headhunter spawns, and depending on your alliance you may have to fight him numerous times. He usually drops 3 Quadav Charms, but since we had two alliances he did drop 2 and then 4 once. However, 3 seems to be the median. His respawn time seems to be just about 15 minutes even, as we timed it when we had to kill him 8 times.

After every person has a charm, let's head back north to the starting area, but STAY ON THE LEDGE. You need to follow the ridge again until you get to (F-6), which is right by the entrance. At (F-6), near the two huts on the ledge, is where Go'Bhu Gascon will spawn. He drops the Quadav Augury Shell, the last of the two items needed, and like De'Vyu Headhunter, he drops a median of 3 shells per fight. His respawn time seems to be just about 15 minutes as well.

Once everyone has a Quadav Charm and a Quadav Augury Shell, head back to Jeuno. Enter the Neptune's Spire again and trade the items *ONE at a time* to Sattal-Mansa. For some reason, if you trade him both at the same time (this happened to one of our members), he gives you the key item for the first item put in. He also takes the second item, but doesn't give you credit for it, so you'll have to go back to fight one of the two named Quadav to get another one.

After everyone has their two key items, head back to Beadeaux. Head to the the Qulun Dome as mentioned above. There's nothing in here, so just follow this to the hollowed out bone wall. Activate the Magicite, and watch the cutscene. Once everyone is done with that and received Magicite: Aurastone, warp back to Jeuno.

Jeuno

Head back to the Archduke and a cutscene will play. He will give you your airship pass! Then, head to your embassy and talk to the person behind the counter. You will then be recognized as having achieved Rank 5 and will be awarded 10,000gil as well! The assistant to the ambassador will then order you home.

If you already have an airship pass (for whatever reason), the Duke will give you an additional 20,000 gil, in addition to the 10,000 gil you receive from the embassy.

Omg I was taking a friend through it last night I'm 61rng, we went on my rdm though (57rdm). So Davoi and Beaudeux is insanely easy, I don't know what happened with Castle O. First we got a train going because Wil's invis wore, then she was standing on trap door and got sucked down, THEN DIED, then another train. It was horrible. Went as 61rng/rdm today, had her cast her own invis with Tonko and it took us like 10 min. It was ridiculous rofl. Augh. But at least now I know how to sweep through it without a problem. How embarassing though rofl

Ok guys, im new here, but i Just finished The Rank 5 mission as 42 THF. I dont know about you guys, but I got aggrod w/o sneak looking for the Two NM's in beadeux. I went only with two of my friends, lvl 65 WHM, and 69 DRG. IT IS A WHOLE LOT EASIER when you have a whm that can tele you, and a DD. I finished this quest in an easy 3 hours. They just used sneak on me for the NM's, and magicites. Only thing i have now is a Message to Jeuno, im in my home town now, but don't know where to go.

You dont complete it in your home town - you have to go back to Ru'Lude Gardens, and see the Archduke for your airship pass - then you go to the embassy for the rank 5 status and 10k gil! ;)

If you do it the way I did it with my LS, shouldn't be a problem, takes a bit longer, but I feel it's more fun. We just pulled together an alliance (this was like 2/3 of the LS) and we just killed everything in sight, lol.
Im still denied

I was wondering who the ambassador is for my country.

i know to go to Ru'Lude Gardens and to my embassy but is the embassador the guy behind the counter? cause this guy tells me to focus my efforts on the conquest of the areas around Jeuno. Does this mean i need more rank points or does it mean i need more Jeuno fame?

***EDIT: K sorry i missed the other post that solvesthis***

Well, I'm a 60 paladin. This week I took 3 people, a lvl 24 war, 36 thf, and 33 whm, through delkfuts tower, for 3-3 and through all of 4-1, 4-2, and 4-3. All of rank 4 was completed in about, 5 hours. I took them to davoi, where despite their best efforts to stay invisible they drew all sorts of aggro that I had to kill. No one died, we passed the wall of dark arts, picked up their magicite and warped home. I then took them to beadeaux, where they waited at the zone. I went and found the NM's necessary and got them their charms/ shells. The charm mob had to spawn twice in order to get enough for all 3 of them, but it was no problem. They all walked back to jeuno, while I waited at the beadeaux entrance, and when the returned, I took them into qulun dome, where the retrieved their second magicite, and warped home. Still no deaths. Finally, we geared up and headed to Castle Oztroja. Almost immediately, the 24 war lost invis and aggro'd 6-8 mobs. I managed to round them all up and throw him enough cures to keep him alive and everyone safe. Once I finished off these mobs, we tightened up our methods and rarely recieved aggro after. We went through all of Oztroja without a single wrong turn and when we finally got to the torch door, we got aggro from a Lutenist that was EP and a Conquistador that was Too Weak. I took a few minutes to finish these two off while the group rested and then one by one we passed through the door. Once inside, we simply put up sneak and invis and ran the last 100 steps to the altar room. Inside they watched their FMV and then picked up the final magicite. We all warped home, very pleased with ourselves and the 3 of them ran back to Ru'lude Gardens to get airship passes, rank 5 and 10k gil. All in all, I was surprised that even with lvl's as low as 24, we had no deaths, no failed attempts and virtually no serious mistakes to speak of whatsoever. So, in the end, I'm only reporting that with a guide who can kill off any aggro along the way and someone who can sneak/invis the entire group, this mission is far easier than I remembered it being when it was my turn to do it, months ago.

Hello, i am Wiliam. i was wondering if this is this mission is the only thing you have to do to become rank 5. im confused because there is 3-1, 3-2, and 3-3. But there are not any 4-1, 4-2. If anyone could clear this up for me i would be very gratefull.

Yup - its thought of as 4-1, 4-2 and 4-3 because there are three parts/areas to go to...each with a magicite, but this mission IS the only thing you need to do for rank 5!! ^^

No, you are refering to the Kazham Airship Pass.

This mission is for the *real* airship pass to fly to and from Jeuno and the 3 cities.

"If you already have an airship pass"

This is in referece to those who either
1) bought an airship pass for 500,000 gil
2) already got rank 5 (and Airship Pass) with another country, and switched allegiance

You must need more rank points for your region or need greater fame in Jeuno. Try turning in more crystals (Windy) or do whatever questing for your region or completing some of the easy quests in Jeuno.

I just wanted to say.

I finished nabbing my last magicite, and that's bull about falling off on the second floor.

I had a whole crapload of aggro, was rushing to zone, would have made it if I COULD have fallen off to the first floor.

'less, aggro discludes you from falling.

same experience as these two; I won't say there isn't some place you *can* drop over the edge, but with 16 so yags chasing me I sure couldn't find it.

if there is, someone should post the spot -- i guarentee I wouldn't have died had I been able to fall back to the first floor at a full run; maybe an acurate location could save others.

I have the yag torch in my key items but i have been unable to open the torch door. In the 5-10 seconds I have after droping vis I select a torch and either left click with mouse or enter from keyboard and nothing happens. I do both torches nothing happens. Time runs out I get aggroed and warp to Windy, make that long ride and try again. What must I do to get torches lit?

I wanted to know.... I am a lvl 30 whm, (with sneak, invisible, and deodorize) could i solo this mission? If not when do I need help? Help me out!
RE: Can I solo this?

Soloing the Castle Oz and Davoi parts aren't too bad as long as you're sneak'd and invis'd and sneaky enough to uninvis and run through doors when mobs aren't looking. If there's other people in the area killing things that's even better for you. But you will deffinitely need help in Beadeaux... you gotta kill two Quadavs and get their drops... I did mine as a 36WHM with the help of a level 52RNG and a 62DRK... they took out the Quadavs like nothing. One note though... running around Castle Oz and Davoi with sneak and invis is really scary... especially when nearly everything checks as VT or IT. Good luck!

Just a note. You don't have to collect the items and get the key items if you're doing this for a second time. (Like me, I'm already rank 5 Bastok, but changed to Windurst)

You only need to start it, and go to the Magicite.

You need to get the Tenshodo application form and complete it (i don't know how) or just buy the Tenshodo invite from the AH. It costs about 8k on Midgardsormr server. Hand this over to the lady in Neptunes Spire Inn...you will then gain access into Tenshodo (entrance directly opposite the door you walk through to get in at the back of the room. Not sure if this is of any help.... =\

I just got rank 5 last night and am happy about the airship pass. Thanks to Giovani & Nichael who for helping me!

You could solo all of this as a level 1, with the exception of killing the 2 NMs Quads in Beadeaux. All it requires is knowing what aggroes what and sneaking/invising in safe spots.

Hey just finished this mission the other day - was pretty easy, good suggestion if u have low lvl people - grab some high lvl help and u'll be fine.
We went around this the easy way.

Went and got all of our cut scenes done and got all our key items, went to beadaux and killed the 2 named mobs (i was getting too much aggro so i stayed at the zone and my 2 friends kristinna and kaizur killed them and we cast lots - easy!) went back to jeuno and got the last 2 key items.

Next went to castle crapshaif - yes oh crapshaif cause man it blows! i recommend anyone lower then 45 have a stack of prism powders and a stack of silent oils cause the yagudo's are tough as hell and the bats aggro to sound as well. Other then that it was pretty straight foward.

Next came beadaux.... to easy, just use the left over sneak oils and prism powders if ur worried but its straight foward.

Then davoi... well /sigh i thought it would be a lil tough... oh well its a sinch too just run there and u wont even get aggro.

So that was my adventure! thanks Kristinna, Kaizur, and the 2 other high lvl's i cant remember your names but u were the bomb!!!

I also was dreading this one but laughed my way to rank 5 in probably 3 or 4 hours total.

I did it solo as a RDM50/BLM25, and I had killed the Beadeaux NM for the augury shell already so I had the key item that gives you. So when I went back I had to do the deal with the Muter/Afflictor (no biggie just bring a few echo drops to kill the silence or let it wear off if everything near you is too weak). Killed the other NM - who was tougher than I was expecting but still was more of a long fight than a tough one.

The only time during the whole mission I was worried of death was during the Castle Oztroja part where you light the torch to open the door. I was spotted by a DC ranger yag at this point (there was an EP bard and the DC ranger by the door and they weren't moving around so I got impatient) and he got me down a ways before I was able to get through the door and out of range.

Once I got out of his range and reapplied invis I was fine.

Got Rank 5 and Airship Pass (woohoo!), and got to see a lot more back story for the great war and Shadowlord stuff. Definitely worth doing - but make sure you are high enough level / mage with own spells / other job with lots of oil/powder. I DO NOT recommend assuming the mages will kept you sneak/invis (as somebody else said), so bring some of your own supplies. It will make the whole party/alliance go smoother and faster - and without Warp/Warp II this can take forever... so you want to avoid any unnecessary delays (like getting killed in Castle Oz because you were too cheap to buy prism powder).
