Description

Talk to Vera, located in the bottom left of Mhaura (G-10). It seems she appears during the evening and night.

She will ask for a Wild Rabbit Tail. Kill Mighty Rahabs, located all over the Buburimu Peninsula.

Return to her, and she will ask you for a Cup of Dhalmel Saliva. Kill Bull Dhalmels, located mainly on the eastern and southern portions of the Peninsula.

Return again, and she will ask you for a Bloody Robe. Kill Bogys along the beach (G-9 and H-9) on the Peninsula between the game hours of 20:00 and 04:00. These are quite difficult and may require a full group of lvl 18s to defeat without anybody dying.

Return and she will award you with the ability to get a sub-job.

Note: Bogys are the most difficult portion of this quest, and it is generally considered easier to complete the Selbina sub-job quest.

# Dec 17 2003 at 6:55 AM Rating: Default

I'm a level 19 Warrior, but she doesnt give me the quest...

you may have opened the quest in selbina. i just ran across the opposite problem. look through your "current quest" to see if there is one open in selbina

oops, my mistake, i meant to say ghouls can drop magicked skulls, not bloody robes XD
RE: Valkurm Dunes
# Jan 09 2004 at 10:50 PM Rating: Default
yes any bogy can drop bloody robes just as ghouls in shakrami can drop them too... your not limited to one hunting ground, jus as long as you get the 3 items required for the quest you chose

What's teh Difference from Sub and Support. Oh and I have a Bloody Rode ^_^.
Not that hard
# Nov 30 2003 at 1:56 AM Rating: Default
I've just tried doing the quest with my friend, who is a level 60 Redmage.
What we did was, we party together (2 people) then i follow him and he obliterate everything. For some reason, the drops wasn't hard AT ALL. We ended up just killing 3 mighty rarab, 1 dhalmel, and 1 bogy.
I don't know, but i get this feel that the high the guy's level is, the "easier" the thing will drop...
RE: Not that hard
# Jan 09 2004 at 10:53 PM Rating: Default
nope, you just got lucky. if you are at the point that a creature is too weak compared to you, you have a lessoned chance of getting drops, but while its still at least easy prey, the higher level you are the better
RE: Not that hard
# Jan 18 2004 at 7:05 PM Rating: Default
I found it's lessened, but not equally for all item. For instance I killed Spool roughly 12 times at lvl 11-14, he dropped a lot of roots/cotton/etc. Nailed him five time at lvl 18, and I got 2 travelers mantle, but nothing else.
drop rate?
# Nov 28 2003 at 3:44 AM Rating: Decent
What is the drop rate on these items? Can I expect to be killing Rarabs all night and be lucky if I get a drop or is this something that I could do the whole quest overnight?

A thief and I were duoing leeches on the shore in hopes of getting a carbuncle ruby. At night, avoiding bogys was pretty difficult, so we were forced to fight them on occasion. I think we killed 5-8 bogys and got 2 robes. At 30 with subjobs, they were pretty useless to us...

The bogys that spawn here are by far weaker than their Valkurm counterparts. All the ones we saw were easy prey, while the bogys in the dunes still con as tough at level 30.

# Jan 09 2004 at 10:56 PM Rating: Default
yes, buburimu bogys are 2 levels lower than valkrum bogys to help compensate for how hard the quest is XD. nonetheless, they are still murderous. fyi, i have personnaly found 5 spots in buburimu where bogys spawn, and one isnt on a beach... dang thing ambushed us while i was chopping down trees T_T
Subjob
# Nov 26 2003 at 10:23 PM Rating: Decent
What is the most efficient combination of ppl to complete this job? I need to get the subjob happening. I'm level 18 BLM. I figure 2 WHM and 1 WAR with a Monk will this combination work? You may wish to e-mail me at jason.kelly@shaw.ca with your input. Thanx

rofl its really up to you. rarabs and bogys are quite a spread in levels, so theres no surefire way... unless you dont care about exp and jus get a level 30 friend to help
Items buyable?
# Nov 18 2003 at 11:58 AM Rating: Decent
Can these items be bought at auction house?
RE: Items buyable?
# Nov 19 2003 at 1:55 PM Rating: Decent
These items are not buyable, nor are they tradeable.... so if someone in your group already finished the quest... MAKE SURE THEY PASS ON THE DROPS.
It depends

A full party of 6 can do it, pretty easly of people 16-20ish.

But you gota realize there are least 3 major differnt cons of Bogy's.

One cons tough to a lvl 19, one is VT, and the last is IT to lvl 19.

the tough you can own pretyt easly, evne with lvl 15 party. They have no def or magic def really. Cure 2 does like 58 to them.

THe VT can be alot more trouble, they tend to use that drain skill more often, that drains about 20hp from everyone around it. So mroe people around.. more hp it gets back.

and the IT is nuts, heals alot curse, insane def so most people hit for zero when they hit.

A BIG ONE! I was out on the beaches last night with a 2 full allianced parties (12 people) and we were getting destroyed by them. Levels ranged from 15-18. Only when we pleaded a lvl 61 PLD into helping us did we get anything done...and I still ddin't get a cape. ~_~ Just gather as many people as you can and fight them. Try and get a few BLMs that have Fire since they're weak against it. WHMs need to heal tanks constantly, especially when it casts Ice Spikes on itself.

sorry i really wouldnt recommend bringing a big force in to kill 1 bogy, your asking for trouble. too many aggro/linking creatures in the area not to mention the elementals that sometimes spawn on the beech next to bogys. besides.. how do you expect 12 ppl to play long enough to kill enough bogys to get 12 robes. if you cant get it with a party of 5-6 then jus be really sweet and kind and ask a high level friend to come. my friend was in the area and spent a couple hours gettin me all the items i needed. i owe him one, that was the end of it, no hastle XD

Question
# Nov 11 2003 at 3:19 AM Rating: Default
Is there any way I can back out of this quest and do the one with the old man in Selbina? I have the items from Selbina but accidentaly accepted the old ladies quest,
RE: Question
# Nov 11 2003 at 12:13 PM Rating: Default
Echo that question, is there any way to back out of this? I also have all three items for Selbina Subjob quest.

Is there any way to cancel a quest once it is accepted?

Is it possible that bogys in other areas might drop the bloody robe? if there are bogys in other areas of course. I have heard that there are, like one in king ranperre's tomb perhaps, near the grave stone. if anyone has info on this it may reduce the crowding in selbina considerably.

Killed 4 bogies at the crystal lake for sandoria M8 in jugnar. 2 bloody robes and a revival root. Only spawn at night.

Also, none of the items are tradeable.

Mighty rarabs can be found almost anywhere in Buburimu, Bull Dhalmels are closer to the gate of Mhaura, and Bogys spawn only at night, on the beach southwest of Mhaura's gate. Bogys will agro and are rather powerful caster mobs(I'd guess 25 or so, conned as incredibly tough), so bring a full of group of people around 18 if you want to have a good chance of killing them.

Starting NPC is Vera, she's down at the lowest level at the corner, outside the warehouse entrance near a bunch of crates.
