In-Game Text

Description

Morunaude is located in the furniture shop. You need to buy a cupboard from him and place it in your mog house. Exit and re-enter the house and talk to the Moogle. This will trigger a cut scene (assuming your fame is high enough) where your Moogle tells you he found a teacup.

Head back to the furniture shop and talk to Morunaude and Justi. They will eventually tell you about Calovour. Head to the Cathedral and talk to him, and he asks you to fetch a Mistletoe. This drops from the Walking Tree in Jugnar Forest. Get it and bring it back for a reward. Note that the reward will not cover the initial purchase of furniture.

What is this FIRE Moghancement you speak of?
RE: Groovy!

fire moghancement gives you an extra "boost" when working with fire crystals. Currently i am level 10 blacksmithing and without fire moghancement I fail even with adv support, without adv support and the moghancement i failed 2 out of 24 trys, and got +.1 on about 3/4 trys

This quest for me was called "Unexpected Treasure" rather than "Royal Teacup".
You Can Sell the Cupboard
# Feb 11 2004 at 7:15 PM Rating: Decent
I just sold the cupboard back to the shop that i bought it at for 1956gil. Not exactly the 10k I paid for it, but better then just sitting in the mog house.

Is it possible to get this quest if you are a citizen of another nation and only have a rent-a-room in San d'oria? Layout is greyed out in rent-a-rooms.

you can get the quest, but it won't activate until you get back to your home town and layout the cupboard.

just did this yesterday as a matter of fact.

Go home, layout the cupboard, leave the house, go back and talk to moogle.

The teacup is a key item.

Sell the cupboard after?
# Dec 18 2003 at 5:20 PM Rating: Default
Okay...so can I just buy this mistletoe sprig off the AH...buy the cupboard....then get my 7.5k reward...then sell the cupboard back on the AH?

Thanks in advance!
RE: Sell the cupboard after?

The cupboard is EX, so you can't sell it on the auction house or trade it to another player, unforunately.

#Anonymous, Posted: Dec 16 2003 at 3:12 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Do you still need the bronze bed in your mog house after you do the bronze bed quest?
RE: Bronze Bed
# Dec 17 2003 at 6:40 PM Rating: Default
This quest has nothing to do with the Bronze bed. My friend did not have a Bronze Bed in his room, and I did when we both got the quest.

It seems that the fame is in your hometown. I had 42 San d'Orian quests finished when I bought the Cupboard-- nothing. However, I went back to Bastok and completed Drakhenfall to make my Bastok Fame 30, and my mog found the cup.

Note: The Stationary and the Bronze Bed have NOTHING to do with this quest. With or without them, it doesn't effect getting this quest remotely.
RE: Bronze Bed
# Nov 10 2006 at 8:54 AM Rating: Decent
Actually, the fame is san d'orian fame. You must have done something that affected your San d'Oria fame.
Also, just to note; the fame acquired from 42 quests vs 30 can't be compared like that, because some quests give more fame than others. Like, trading in a cornette in windurst won't give you as much fame as say, completing one of the higher-up ****** quests.

>> Lot's of people seem to mix that up. Each quest has it's own worth. :3

And yes, this quest has to do with every item in your room that triggers a quest, and apparently some that don't, though they may trigger yet unknown quests somehow? :/ dunno about that though.

# Dec 22 2003 at 1:11 PM Rating: Default
I had a stationary I got from a Windhurst quest placed in my house, and had not yet had my moogle write me the song.

Placed the cupboard and he would never tell me about the teacup.

One time the Moogle tells me he wrote me a song and gives me the bard song, I exit and reenter and he finally tells me he found the teacup.

This was true for 3 other people so far, so it does affect it in that way.
RE: Bronze Bed
# Feb 16 2004 at 3:56 AM Rating: Excellent
Apparently, your quests were triggered at the same time.

Just because you recieved both quests at the same time does not mean that they are related, it just means that they have the same fame trigger.
RE: Bronze Bed
# Feb 27 2004 at 5:55 AM Rating: Default
the statement being made here is that the first quest-triggering item placed in your MH (apparently) MUST trigger before the next item can.

if you do not have any other quest-giving items, there will be no effect at all. if you do have other items, and they have already 'fired'. then presumably there is also no effect.

no it doesnt ive never had a cupboard and i have the bard song the moogle gave me.
Fame
# Dec 12 2003 at 2:25 PM Rating: Decent
Do you need San D'orian fame to trigger this quest, or is it based on your Home Town's fame like the moggle quest? Oh, and anyone have any idea how much fame is needed? I am from Bastok, have 35 San D'orian fame and still cant trigger it :(
hmm...
# Dec 02 2003 at 7:35 PM Rating: Decent
Edit: Nevermind. I found out that if you have a bed in your mog house and the cupboard, the cupboard quest won't activate until the bed is taken out (no doubt due to placing the bed before the cupboard and waiting for the quest to activate for the bed).

How to get the Quest:
# Nov 21 2003 at 11:09 PM Rating: Good
Quest Correction (still can't get email to go through)

To start this quest purchase the "Cupboard" that Justy sales in the furniture shop. It is around 10k depending on your fame.
Take your new piece of furniture home, and set it up in the Moghouse. Exit the Moghouse and come back inside. Your Moogle will now tell you he found a teacup inside the cupboard if you have enough fame.

You will obtain a key item "Royal Teacup". Now, go talk to Morunaud in the furniture store. She will tell you it is obviously royal and that you need to find the owner.

Go talk to Calovour in the Cathedral, he will ask for a Mistletoe Sprig (This is a trade-able item).

Give Calovour the mistletoe and receive 7500 gil partially covering your new furniture purchase =P.

With the new update, has anyone found out how many "Storage" slots the Cupboard gives you? If it's a decent amount, the 2500g (after 7500g quest-in rebate) might be worth it.

Each furniture item gives you 1 additional storage slot, to make up for lost moogle safe space.
#Anonymous, Posted: Feb 25 2004 at 10:35 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Actually thats not correct Hayakawa. with the new updates Cupboards give two storage slots (apperantly). Not exactly what I would refer to as alot, but beggers can't be choosers. you can look http://www.playonline.com/comnewsus/200402262363.html here for more information on storage updates.
RE: How to get the Quest:

actually it was correct, nublet. look at the date on his post. when he made it, it was only 1 storage slot per item. the update which expanded storage slots came after.
