In-Game Text

Description

You need to complete the "Teacher's Pet" quest and have Fame Lvl 3 before you can obtain this quest.

The students' answer sheets from their recent written exam have been stolen. The School of Magic urgently requests that you track down the answer sheets and return them.

Talk to Tauwawa in the same room as Fuepepe. She mentions an advanced student, Chomoro-Kyotoro was waiting to meet Ms.Fuepepe but disappeared so doesn't know if the student met with the teacher.

Chomoro-Kyotoro will be found on top of the Aurastery in class. (K6) Others in class mention his nervousness.

The item needed is a 'RARE' item called Test Answers; description: a pile of test answer sheets.

You get Test Answers from killing Wendigoes inside the secret room of the 3 mages. That room is inside the Inner Horutoto Ruins and you need a Red Mage, Black Mage, and a White Mage to stand on the symbols outside the secret door.

As for the reward, it is a scroll of Aspir.

You take the answer sheets to Fuepepe who tells you to take them to the principal (Koru-Moru) in Walls. He tells you to return to Fuepepe and also gives you a key-item for Chomoro-Kyotoro.

When you speak with Fuepepe you recieve a scroll of Aspir (25BLM/20DRK).

Hey guys, I was having trouble getting this quest to flag but I think I figured out some peoples problems. Fuepepe is the start NPC. Its says that in the sidebar but not the description. Talking to the other people is what you do after. I didn't realize this (stupid ignorant me...) and it caused me a lot of headache. So yeah, talk to Fuepepe after getting lvl 3 fame and you should be fine!!

Level Requirment Changed?

I can state with some certainty that the level requirement for this quest has been changed to 10. My mule is in Windy, and I've used it in the past to hold all sorts of fun crystals, synth materials, etc. over the levels and I figured it was time to put her to work. I upped my fame on the cheap (Sardines + zone, ftw!) and set to work doing quests around Windy that gave profitable rewards.

At Fame 4, I could not unlock the second ****** quest (Know One's Onions) until my XP level hit 5 and for this quest I tried every combination of zoning, pleading, and begging with Fuepepe at levels 5-9 to start it. Teacher's Pet was one of the first quests that I completed with my mule in the city, and I had none open at the time, so I couldn't figure out why I couldn't begin this quest when the level requirement was purported to be 1.

Last night I dinged Level 10, ran back into the city and was able to start this quest. Has anyone else played around with this?

OMFG! This quest is a pain in the A... I have a lv 5 fame in Windy. Done the prereq: Teacher's Pet. Let Sleeping Dogs Lie is not activated. But, I still can't activate this god damn quest. Am I missing something here?? As noted from the below replies that ppl have successfully done this aspir quest as a lv1 so I doubt level is the problem here. Please help me guys. Send me a message IF you don't wanna leak out the secret...

I was having a similar problem. I knew my fame was lvl 6+, and I had Teachers Pet done. I believe the problem may be in the listed Prerequisite quests. I had Let Sleeping Dogs Lie still active and could not get the aspir quest started. Once I finished this one (and Making Amends just to be sure) I zoned out and then back and was able to get the quest started. Now to get the Test Answers...

The pre-quest, Teacher's Pet, is required, and easy. I already had decent fame in Windy from trading many cornettes to an NPC in Windy. Anyway, I had no idea you had to go through sealed doors with the help of others or have a high Windy rank player help, so I just ran around, searching for Wendigos. I found two treasure chests with a Moth Axe and Tourmaline, Maltha, but not Wendigos. I gave up and bought the Test Answers from the AH (under "Other", I think) for 30k >.> Trade it to Fuepepe, who tells you to give it to Koru-Moru (located in Windy Walls, his name is on the map). Trade it to him, and you are sent to deliver it to Chomoro-Kyotoro (on top of the Aurastery, in a class). Talk to Fuepepe, and he gives you the price Scroll of Aspir.

how do i do the quest
# May 13 2006 at 11:29 AM Rating: Decent
This entire board is filled up with "how do I check my fame" notes. No one has said anything on how to do the actual quest!!!

I followed a fellow LS member into this Hort ruin (we're Sandorians). He was WHM, I was the BLM, and we took another LS member who was the RDM. I had no map and hadn't used BLM in ages. He said we all three had to touch a door. He thought it would be easy. We entered a room full of gobs and got aggroed and killed, but not before entering another room with gobs and a willow-the-wisp. He gave up on the quest and two weeks later I got the quest while working up fame to activate the teleport-mea scroll quest.

I want to DO this quest, not buy stuff on AH. Can anyone write a step-by-step follow thru?

Since the three of us got killed I have to take in a party, right? Whats a Weindigo? All I saw were goblins. Is the Hort Ruin map bought from a map seller? Which of those trees in Windy's back yard lead directly to this quest's spot? Do all the trees in Windy's back yard lead to this Hort Ruins? I'm a level 34 WHM, can I fight what I'm going to be up against? What's the lowest lvl pt one should attempt this with? Can I drag in some lvl 15's to help me?
Got The Test Answeres!
# May 13 2006 at 9:01 PM Rating: Decent
Here we go:

I formed up pt with old LS member and yelling on the streets of Windy. Yelling got me a 63RDM. My old LS member was WHM40 abouts. I was a lowly BLM20. Yes, everything aggroed me.

Before I went in tho I had a lvl75 guide of the place just for a look over. He could open the gate with three mages cause he had some sort of key or somethn (got him by yelling on the streets too).

At ffxi-atlas I found maps. The Inner Horutoto Ruins are screwy. You get into them thru a tree like tower. There are several of these things. Tho it looks like you could enter by popping out Windy Waters and into this tree, you can't. The inside remind me of my horror days playing Link: Hole in wall to high to jump too. Instead you pop out of Windy Woods and enter the tree tower on East Sarutabaruta's side.

I would say you need to be a lvl40 or more to fight the mobs. They link.

Four maps of Horutoto Ruins. Under each big title you see a little title on these maps? That's how I'm leading you. First map at top called Lily Tower. Enter and go to place marked "A." That takes you to "A" on 2nd map called Beetle's Burrow. Walk to point "C." Then you are at the "C" on 3rd map, called Rose Tower. Three Mage Gate is marked in red. That is your destiny.

After RDM, WHM, BLM stand on the circles the door opens (or one high lvl with a key, lol). Go thru the door. It closes behind you trapping you. Ha, ha, ha!
Pic of me trapped behind the door. If you have a low lvl with you he/she can hide here (like I did).

You are killing, killing, killing a skelleton called a Wendigoe! Kill, kill, kill till they finally drop your test answeres!
getting the quest

I have come across many quest on the server Fairy that ppl cannot get! Including myself it is very frustarting indeed. But it seem to be a problem with the software many quest after the last update I find I can now get so maybe you should try them again? I lvl 7 fame so I know that not getting them before the update had to be a problem with the server.

San D'orian
# Jan 28 2006 at 7:13 PM Rating: Decent
Ok well just to let you guys know, I'm a rank 4 San D'orian and I started and finished this quest as a lvl 30 thf... So you don't have any specific job you have to be to start it. I have max fame in Windy so I don't know if that is an issue or not... But the test answers are going for a little under 40K here on Kujata... so yea 39K compared to 350K+ hmm you choose :-p
The Low Down:
# Jan 26 2006 at 2:23 PM Rating: Decent
You have to have lvl 3 Windy Fame, completed the "Teacher's Pet" quest, Not have the "Let Sleeping Dogs Lie" quest flagged or open, AND your main job should be BLM.

That should pretty much take care of anyone who hasn't been able to get the quest. Other than that, its a pain in the ace.

Hope this helps, if so... Please rate up.
Main or Sub?
# Nov 25 2005 at 1:10 PM Rating: Decent
Hey all! Does anyone know if the mages (rdm, whm, blm) needed to open the door have to be your main job or can it be subjobs? Thx.

alot of money, is it worth it to do this
# Nov 16 2005 at 2:55 PM Rating: Decent
I just got enough fame for Wendy but first running out and killing Mandy's. Then I thought to myself, I should have been buying these, because they don't drop very often. Well I had a friend look in Bastok for the Cornettes, repeating the Mandragora-Mad quest. The prices were as follows for the whole quest.

Sandy - 1,000 per each Cornette X2
Bastok - 800 per each Cornette X3
Windy - 1,000-2,000 per each Cornette X20
Test Answers - 20,000!!!!!

I believe that this was a rip off. Leviathan Server is suffering here.
I think that in the time it took to do this stuff I could have farmed the 170k for Aspir and been on my way.

Just some comments, I typically don't have a hard time farming Cornettes, the Mandragoras (not tiny ones) in east sarutabaruta drop them. Farm them, and silk as you camp Spiny Spipi and you can come out with quite a bit of money. As for the test answers, I'm sure people are wondering how to the 3 mage door, and I didn't see it posted below.

You can otain a portal charm to the 3 mage door by completing Windy mission 3-2 (alot of people seemed to skip this one, and go on ahead to get rank 4.) Mission 3-2 does involve going into the 3 mage door before without getting the charm first so you do have to get in there once without the charm yourself (IE, bring a RDM, WHM, and BLM, or someone with a charm). To do 3-2, you may need 3 rusty daggers that drop of the wendigos, I'm not certain, I 'think' if you haven't skipped the mission and are doing it in order you don't need the daggers, you just talk to the gate of light or something, but if you skipped it and are going back, you might need the rusty daggers. After completing 3-2 trade a Rolanberry(bought from NPC in port jueno near AH if you need help finding one) to Kupipi behind the desk in Heavens Tower, and she'll thank you and give you a portal charm, letting you open the gate alone.

I have been farming bone chips in here to start up bonecraft, and I typically get Test Answers within 20 kills or so. (53THF) As for prices, I sell Test Answers for 20,000 which was the going rate before I sold any, and I give them away to people in my LS.

On a funny note, a person has a mule (I guess) sitting outside the house where you turn in Cornettes for fame, with dozens of Cornettes in their bazaar. The price? 10,000 each. Well, that was the first time I saw them a few days ago. Now they have them /sarcasm MUCH more reasonably priced, at 6,000. /sarcasm
>.<
RE: alot of money, is it worth it to do this
# Nov 18 2005 at 7:23 AM Rating: Decent
You can buy Cornettes from a vendor in Bastok Markets for something like 250 gil each. No farming or AH necessary, just free up your inventory and transport 30-60 at a time.
Reap what you sow is prerequisite ?
# Nov 14 2005 at 3:31 AM Rating: Decent
Got this quest without doing the Let Sleeping Dogs Lie Quest , but I did do Reap What You Sow Quest and I did Mandragora-Mad quest a few times , traded 25 coronets .
