Activate Quest?
# Apr 20 2009 at 4:40 PM Rating: Decent
Anyone know what sort of rep you need to activate the remaining bag quests after #1? I havent played in a year, so does that even matter anymore? lol
Already had the fame...

Did this for a total of 14.5k on Lakshmi Server. This one was actually cheaper than the first gobbiebag quest.
Pandemonium - 13,700 gil

Pandemonium prices for Gobbiebag II:

Mythril Ingot - 5,000 gil
Turquoise - 3,500 gil
Wool Cloth - 3,500 gil
Ram Leather - 1,700 gil
--------------------------
Total - 13,700 gil

I got lucky and managed to buy most of these things a bit under the price history so this total is probably slightly below average. Still a great deal though!

Other servers costs seem like nothing compared to Hades, this really is hell :'(
I spent 69k for a turquoise
12k for wool cloth
10k Ram Leather

Haven't tried to get a mythril ingot as they only had a stack for sale in Bastok and I never checked the price for the singular one as there were none left.

So, so far it's cost me 91k
and obviously much more once I get a mythril ingot. *sigh

All in Jeuno (cheapest AH for these items, I have mules in all four cities).

Total for the quest: 34k - not bad.

Hope this is useful.

10k for Turquoise? Man, I'm in the wrong server. In Garuda, it's twice that! There's got to be some way I can get a Turquoise without levelling my Goldsmithing up 20+ points...

Can anyone please tell me the levels of crafting it will require for all the gobbie bag quest items, or at least point me in the right direction for this information? I can't see myself spending ridiculous amounts of money on one thing when I can spend that same amount to level my craft skill and eventually make the item, which pretty much kills two birds with one stone. Thanks in advance. ^^
RE: Question, Help
# Jun 19 2005 at 4:21 PM Rating: Decent
Look to the left of the walkthrough, where it says "Items Required:" Then click on each, look to the right column of information on the one you click. It should say:
<craft>(cap level)
Yields: <#>
Crystal:
Ingredients:

If you are above the cap level, you should be ok in crafting it. Good luck^^
Fame Questions
# Mar 09 2005 at 7:30 PM Rating: Decent
I have completed the first gobbie bag quest. Then when i attempted to do the second quest it was not offered. So I went and did the Seblina cabbage quest to gain fame. I did the cabbage 12 times, the millcorn 12 times, and the moss 12 times. When I returned I was still not able to obtain the second gobbie bag quest. How many times do i need to do this quest to have enough fame to get the second gobbie bag quest?
RE: Fame Questions
# Apr 18 2005 at 1:12 PM Rating: Decent
my fame in sandy and bastok suck, however i have max fame in windy and norg. i got all of my gobbie bags. I have done very few missions in jeuno such as bard quest and various others.
RE: Fame Questions
# Apr 18 2005 at 9:45 AM Rating: Decent
Go do some quests in Windurst. The Selbina quests raise your fame in Bastok and Sandy. Jeuno fame is an average of Bastok, Sandy, and Windy. No Windy fame=no Jeuno fame.

Hmm.... That's odd.
In this link which someone posted above,
http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/db/guides.html?guide=206
it says that for the first part of this Gobbiebag Quest, you need Fame LvL 3 for Jeuno, but last time I checked, before I attempted to give Bluffnix my items, the info the NPC told me, said I was at LvL 2 Jeuno Fame, and I was STILL able to hand over my items, and I now have 35 free slots added to my Inventory. My fame for Sandy though, is at LvL 3, so I don't know if it was this which triggered Bluffnix to give me the 5 extra slots or not.

Also, to raise my fame for Bastok and Sandy, (and I presume the same for Jeuno too) I have been collecting Boyhada Moss, and trading it to the NPC in Selbina standing next to the sheep stall.
3 stacks I bought, and STILL got my reward from Bluffnix. (in Jeuno

I didn't check my Jeuno fame but it must have been low as well. Being a bit bored this morning, I ran my mule with Lvl 7 San d'Oria fame to Jeuno and was able to get I & II complete.

Just an update for Midgar... I spent the following last night, 2/14/05, to get the items from the Jueno AH:

Mythril Ingot - 9k
Ram Leather - 3.5k
Turquoise - 21.6k
Wool Cloth - 8k

Total - 42.1k

This was getting lucky that several people had undercut the others too. I think the average of the posted prices was closer to 50k.

As if that wasn't enough, I priced the Gobbiebag III items and it came out to be:

Gold Ingot - 50k-52k
Painite - 55k-60k
Tiger Leather - 2.5k-3k
Velvet Cloth - 6k-7k

Total - 113.5k-122k

Ouch... Anyone loan me some gil?

Two words: More Fame

Seriously, just do the cabbage run in selbina (I.E. "Only the best") about 12 times and you should have it.
