In-Game TextDescriptionPlace a bronze bed in your home house and after the next weekly update on Sunday, Moogle will tell you that sleeping in the bed has made him homesick and he would like to take a vacation. However, Moogle is ashamed to go home empty handed. He wants to give Papa Moogle a Power Bow because he likes to enter the archery contest at the fair. Mama Moogle would look very pretty with a Beetle Ring. Poor Moogle asks for your help in finding these items for him. Bring the items to Moogle and he will tell you he will be back in a few days with a gift for you. Not to worry, he won�t disappear. Later, he will return with a shiny new Mog Safe for you. Back when I started to play FF my friend gave me some gil to get started. I bought a bed and another storage box... cant remember witch 1. I can remember the moogle saying something but didnt pay too much attention. I didnt know there was a quest till a week or more later. I have been trying since to give him the ring and bow to no avail. Do I have to empty my room of everything but the bed and wait for update to be able to do this quest or am I just boned?? Goin nuttz....

For any knew players, when you get the CS from the moogle and you gather the items, you need to trade them to the moogle, not just put them in the mog safe.

In FFXI, inventory space is at a premium. It's the most coveted treasure in the game.
With the exception of the most recently added Gobbiebag VII & VIII quests, I have my inventory maxed out on my main (that includes my Gobbiebag, Mog Safe, and Mog Locker) and still have two alts to hold my gear. I just got my fame up to level three on my Bastok alt so that I could do this quest.
It triggered on Sunday's conquest. I gave him the Beetle Ring and the Power Bow that night. When I checked the next day after midnight, he had returned with my new 60-item capacity mog safe.

i just got the quest i placed the noble bed in and the bronze bed coz i didnt know wich one to do first but the after the conquest update i went to my mog house and when i spoke to my moogle he said sleepin in the bronze bed made him home sick i dont know how long i need to wait for him to finish the quest tho

Here's the deal... Rank, Fame, and the Quest. I got it all, so why is my moogle being hard headed and not accepting these items. I know there are people out there sharing my frustration and I also know that this thread has been covered many times. It seems like the common answer is lvl 3 fame in your hometown. Ok if that is true, why is it that a person like myself that has enough fame to snatch up all the avatars for SMN can not trade two insignificant items to his moogle. I'm almost to the point of wanting to PVP my moogle and put a Mandagora in my house in his place...

I know my hometown has to be in first place to get the quest along with other requirement, Ive got the quest when my hometown was in first place, but now its in third place. Ive already given my moogle the powerbow and beetle ring, do I have to wait till my town is in first place again or is there some way I can speed things up to get my hometown back in 1st place again, Im just wondering what to do now?

Nevermind I waited for 1 day and got the extra 10 spaces, and my Hometown is still in third place so you hometown needing to be in first place is a lye, it doesnt matter what place your hometown is in the conquest to get your extra 10 spaces, you just have to wait till your moogle comes back from its vaction,

lol... ok here it is, I hate posting this because now everyone will know how slow I really am, but there may be someone out there that is pulling there hair out the same way I was. If your moogle is not excepting your gracious offer of a power bow and a bone ring, I have the answer that will cure your frustration. Stop trying to give the moogle a BONE RING!!! Your moogle's mother would like nothing more than a simple beetle ring, not a bone ring, or even a beetle earing. So before you go off the deep end and post an embarassing thread or even say bad things about the greatest game ever, remember to read carefully...

1. Put your mh in your hometown then put your bronze bed in your layout (in other words you should see it when you walk into your mh).
2. Wait for Sunday 12:01 am (AKA midnight-ish) not sure if this is japanese time or not I did mine at about 11:30am EST.
3. Country conquest placement is irrelavent b/c mine is in 3rd.
4. My fame is 3. I was unable to get this quest at fame 2 and I had to wait for Sunday once I got to fame 3 to get this quest. You can check it with certain npc's in your hometown:
Flaco (Port Bastok, E-6)
Zabirego-Hajigo (Windurst Waters North, F-10)
Namonutice (South San d'Oria, K-6)
Depending on what they say you can determine your fame. Google "ffxi fame" you can find a list somewhere telling you what fame you are depending on what the npc says.

he won't take the powerbow, or beetle ring. i bought them ahead of time, and he asked me for the items, but i can't trade them too him. when i try, nothing happens. pls pls, help!

I had to get rank 3 fame for this quest.
When I first tried my current character had 18 quests under his belt and the moogle wouldn't budge. So I tried doing some Bubblie Bernie runs (first time on this char) and kept running through my MH to see if stuff sold from the AH. He gave it to me and I went to check and I had hit lv 3 fame.

I solo'd Limit 3. I killed Maat. I defeated the Shadow Lord. I even have Fenrir. And yet I still can't increase the size of my f***ing mog safe. Here I am, a Rank 9 Bastokan with hero fame, and this bed has been in my house about 2 months now. And my Moogle will not talk. What the f*** is this?
I completed this quest and sold my bed do i need to put it bak in my MH?

I got quest and gave him Power Bow and Beetle Ring. Just wanted to know if anyone knew how long till my safe grow?
I've got the powerbow and the beetle ring and activated the quest but the moggle won't take them :/ What am i doing wrong?

After reading through these posts and completing this quest on a few of my own characters I kind of think that everyone is right and wrong. Every time I've attempted this quest, I've had rank 3 fame, rank 1 missions while in my home town. My wife also has rank 3 fame and rank 1 missions in her home town (same as mine). I placed the bed in my mog house and got the quest the following Sunday (Windurst was NOT in first place in the conquest). I gave my wife my Bronze Bed to use next week, and she didn't get the quest on Sunday. The only difference between her character and mine is that I have completed 11 DIFFERENT quests (some repeatable, some not)and achieved Rank 3 fame. My wife on the other hand has only completed 4 different repeatable quests (and achieved Rank 3 fame). So maybe it has more to do with the number of different quests you complete for your home city, and not the actual rank of fame itself?

Ok, here is my best guess. First off, fame rank is needed, but not sure how much fame for which of the quest. Second, once you place the bed in your house, make sure you have your residence in your home town at the end of the tally (in other words, on saturday night, check out of any rented rooms (so the moogle will move back in and "sleep" in the bed)). After the talley, he should give you a cutscene if your fame is high enough. After that, I'm not certain if you need to be in your home town to get the second cutscene or not, but you should do so to be safe.

it is the origional moogle in your mog house that minds your items. you place the bed in your moghouse in "layout" and after the next conquest tally, if you have enough fame and questts completed, when you talk to your moogle he will ask you for the items (the moogle in your moghouse that is) good luck! ^^

Tho.. he never left?! I remember doing this quest before and he would leave lol.. is something up?

go to bastok and buy cornettes and trade them to a npc in windy
Go to bastok market and stock up on cornettes and trade them to the guy in windy walls. You buy them for like 213 each and trade them in for a 200 gil reward, so not much of a gil loss. You need a lot of them, 150+ to get pretty high fame, but it's easy. Grab a friend, or mule them, or you can use the delivery box trick...

I have been waiting for this quest to start for 3 months and all I did today was move something out of storage and it started. WTH? It is either bugged or has something to do with fame because I recently reached level 3 fame.

Just an idea, but...could it be that you had placed an item into storage, thus occupying the "storage" slot of the bed, and when you removed it the bed was empty so to speak, so the quest kicked in?

How long do you have to wait after you trade items to the moogle?
does it have to be a reg power bow or can it be a power bow +1 .... also the fact that i activated the quest on the 360 beta will that make a differance?

Sent my mog out on the second mog quest. Its been a week now and he hasnt come back? Does renting one in another city affect this? Plz help I want my house back.

Okay, to be on the safe side work it one at a time, place the bed in your moog house layout before the next Tally, get the quest, give him the items, then stay in your city for 3 game days w/no rent-a-room elsewhere and vuala, 60 storage.

Ok..Got the quest...Agreed to take it...but here is the problem I have...I dont have the money to get the bow or ring..I cant get the money off anything I sell at the AH because I cant get back into the mog house...he just keeps telling me he needs the Power bow and beetle ring...is there a way to get back into the mog menu to change subjobs and get into your storage and stuff? Or am I stuck
Dont talk to the moogle to bring up the menu; instead use the numpad minus (-) key to bring it up, and scroll down to 'Mog House'.

how do u know your fame level?
only way i know is in S. Sandy and that is only for Sandy fame. you talk to a guy in the tavern in S.Sandy (enter tavern he is on left). he will tell you if you are famous or not. other than that i would like to know too. i have seen people talking about fame points but i have yet to find anywhere that shows (points)
i'm hoping by posting this someone will finally answer because i only was able to give partial info. i have learned from experience from playing these games how much people like to make others look stupid. hopefully they will here by giving the full info. seems to be the only way in game or on boards that i have ever been able to get an answer to questions. meaning, the only ones that usually give answers are the ones that give the answer then throw in something like "if you can't figure that out maybe you shouldn't even bother playing" (yes i actually have had people say that and other rude things)
so if you have better info than me and care to give it, feel free to show me up on my partial info. i don't mind feeling "stupid" if i get the right answer, lol.

indeed, there are also other links on Alla that show you just how famous you are by the things that the NPC says to you..and these sites show the level of fame pertaining to the words spoken by fame NPC ..look up fame guides :)

I have the Bronze bed in my MH and I activated the quest. My moogle asked me for a Power Bow and a Beetle Ring. I have both of those items but when I trade them to him he won't accept them, it just goes to my Mog House menu. One thing I think may be the problem is I have a Power Bow +1. I noticed that those were cheaper and figured it didn't make a difference, though that may be the problem. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
EDIT: Yes, I was right, I had to use just a normal Power Bow. Thanks for your help anyways:)

Actually, your hometown does not need to be in first place. For the past two weeks, my hometown has been in third place and I was able to get the quest on the Sunday between. As for the other requirements, I can confirm that you need Fame level 3 (I had to do some repeatable quests to get my fame up for this quest) and the Bronze Bed does have to be actually set up in your MH, not just in your safe.

I hope you guys do remember, the bed doesnt have to be only placed in Mog House, but also been placed out as Furnishing?..

i didnt know where else to post this but check this out ..
i went in my mog house a few minutes ago and my moogle said he "had something to tell me"
he "found this precious item" under my bed..
it was a chunk of iron ore.
has this ever happened to anyone else? it really weirded me out ..

That wasnt the Bronze Bed then. The Iron Ore is fro another bed and quest.

Well i just got the quest lol tryed to get this quest for 3 months now..i have traded bow and ring how long i have to wait now anyone know that???

I have had my bronze bed in my mog house for couple months now i just raised my fame level to 3 and i talked to moogle and he wouldn't give me quest it might be the bed has to be in the mog house for certain amount of time while my fame is at 3 anyone clear this up i dunno whats wrong cuz im in my home town
Once your fame is adequate, the quest should start on the first sunday after 11am EST (I believe that's when Japanese Midnight is) so you should be able to do this quest tomorrow. They all start on sunday, although once that sunday has passed you'll be able to accept the quest on anyday.

My Moogle just started the Quest yesterday, only bad part was having to spend 28k on a Power Bow, but hey, more Safe compacity, you can't really put a price on that, can you? ;D

I created a mule in windy, put the fame to max (level 9) and put a bronze bed into Mog House. It's been 4 months and I still hasn't got the quest activated. Any idea why?

I hope you know that if you access your mog house options from the menu instead of clicking directly on the moogle, the cutscene will never be triggered and the moogle will never start the quest. Maybe thats what it is? Next time try clicking on the moogle and see what he says...
i've had the bed set in mog house for 6 months so i know i would have it as soon as fame got high enough ( yes fame, i got mog quest after so many quests were complete in bastok). now, my problem is that after i traded the items to the mog and after the update, my mog still hasn't given me my space! now, i did talk to it a few hours later, would this be the problem or do i have to wait longer? please give helpful info not theories. thank you

I just completed this quest yesterday. Aside from fame, there are only 2 requirements I know of:
1. You must start the quest in your home nation, which consists of putting the bed in your moghouse.
2. You must continue the quest in your home nation, which consists of getting the cutscene and trading your moogle the bow and ring.
You can get a rent-a-room any time in between. I was in Jeuno and in Sandy (woodworking) many times during the quest. I even completed the quest in a rent-a-room in Jeuno - moogle said he's back and gave me 60 storage spaces.

Actually that's not correct either...
You can be anywhere you want when trading the bow and ring to your mog.... I just traded the ring and bow in a rent-a-room in jeuno..

The fame required to get this quest is Fame level 4
Not true. I received this quest today at fame level 3.

No way it's 3. I'm 3 now and I can't get the quest. So it's defentially four. Sorry buddy. I'm gonna get four in a minute to get this stupid thing done.

Definitely Fame 3. I've done it on 3 mules. If you're not getting quest it's for aother reason.
Edit: Also I had a Sandy mule and a Windy mule receive the quest on the same day, with Bastok in first place. Both Fame 3.

I placed my bed on friday ( real life ) did exp parties NM hunting everything. shortly after th conequest update ( on sunday (monday for me) ) came i went back to mog house and he gave me the quest. so no u dont need to stay in your home town as soon as u place the bed down. and i clearly doubt u HAVE to stay in your home town to get the mog safe once traded the items.
it is probably a fame factor to why people cant get the quest / mog safe back.

I've looked through a lot of these posts, but haven't really saw any that could answer my question so here it goes:
After placing bed in MH before conquest tally on Sunday, I got the cutscene asking for the items. Then, I realized I didn't have a power bow, so I went to AH, bought one, and came back to trade items. However, now the moogle doesnt accept the items when I go to trade them to him. Also, I haven't removed my bed or changed to a Rent-a-Room.
Can someone tell me what I need to do for him to accept my items?

I had the same problem. You have to trade both items at the same time or it won't work. I tried one at a time and moogle wouldn't take them. :-(
