Description

Place a bronze bed in your home house and after the next weekly update on Sunday, Moogle will tell you that sleeping in the bed has made him homesick and he would like to take a vacation. However, Moogle is ashamed to go home empty handed. He wants to give Papa Moogle a Power Bow because he likes to enter the archery contest at the fair. Mama Moogle would look very pretty with a Beetle Ring. Poor Moogle asks for your help in finding these items for him.

Bring the items to Moogle and he will tell you he will be back in a few days with a gift for you. Not to worry, he wont disappear. Later, he will return with a shiny new Mog Safe for you.

Online, or just have your char in the MH? 'cause that might be it...
Got the quest this morning
# Dec 07 2003 at 5:19 PM Rating: Decent
Okay, Im level 18thf/7war and just got the quest Sunday morning (today).
Durring the last week, I raised my completed quests from 6 to 29, and got from level 12 to 18 and the subjob.
I've had the bed for about 2.5 weeks.
My rank is still 2 (with a full bar, need to complete emissary to get 3).
I have tons of furniture in my house, so it isnt restricted to having just the bed and nothing else.
Hopefully some of this will help. Considering some of the other posts in this thread, Im thinking that you not only have to meet the fame requirement, but also need to talk to your moggle within a certain amount of time from the tally as Monk said.

Someone earlier in the thread stated this and it is true, if you want to do this quest you need to talk to Moggle just after the Conquest Point Tally which comes once a week. I just did this quest and it wouldn't work till just after the tally, which came on Sunday morning at 10 AM eastern standard time.. I don't know how much leeway you have after the tally but I assume it's not too long. By the way 1 day of game time = 1 hour of real life time. You can check to see how many games days are left till the next tally by checking it in the Regional Info in the main menu. Good luck with the quest.

Urm...
Thats about 7am PST, I have a family and can only play from 8pm until like 2am (b4 i fall asleep)..

I find it hard to believe me, myself and my moogle have to be in the house to admire the bed... on 7am Sunday mornings....

I've had the bed for weeks now so I will try it and negotiate with the wife and kids so I can spend some time with my moogle.. its gonna be a hard sell though and bad for my chances to be able to keep playing this game :)

You most likely need more than 26 Bastok quests to get this activated. Twenty six really isn't a lot. You should shoot for at least 30.
RE: It's not fame

no.....
it's NOT quest related... it is fame.

why do i say this? I had *maybe* 20 quests done in the entire game, almost all repeatable, in all areas when i got this.

why fame?
the ones i do have done, gave me the fame i needed in jeuno and Norg for gobbiebags and the nin quests. all repeatables.

looking right now, completed i have:
9 in bastok
13 in windy
9 in jeuno (four are the gobbiebags, one chocobo licence)
1 in San D'Oria
6 other ones. (Norg etc)

i was at the time, a rank 2 in Bastok.

i have high fame in norg to get the nin quests, high enough fame to have done the gobbiebags, and i think lvl 4 in windy, lvl 2 fame in bastok.

now i could be wrong on the fame thing, but i know for a fact it is *not* # of quests completed... i have 38 total done in game as of right now, the most in one area i have done... windurst, is not even my home nation.

No. I've talked to him just after the conquest tally finished last week. This week I talked to him the same game day. Both times, nadda. The quest still will not activate.

(I posted as Anon below about having 26 quests in my home town, bronze bed in there for now 3-4 RL weeks, Subjob quest, etc. This quest simply WILL NOT ACTIVATE for me.)

OK then I guess it was my imagination when I did the quest that way and it worked, he asked ot go on vacation. Although He hasn't returned from his vacation yet and it's been more than a few in game days. Maybe he drowned!

you call 25 quests high fame? i've done at least 80 non repeatables, im lvl 50 right now, and i've had bed in mog for two weeks (and two conquest tallys), and still nothing 8(

i dunno what could be the deal with getting this thing to activate
Bronze Bed Only?
# Dec 07 2003 at 10:51 AM Rating: Default
Does the Bronze Bed have to be the only piece of furniture in the MH for this quest to activate? I've had a workbench and bronze flower pot in mine as well, and the quests hasn't activated.

I'm reasonably sure you must be at least Rank 3 before the Moogle offers to leave.

This is not so. I got this at max rank 2 (rank 2 with full bar).
Bed
# Dec 01 2003 at 3:35 AM Rating: Default
I had the bronze bed in my Mog House for three real-time weeks (with consistent palying) and never recieved the Mog quest. However, as soon as I finished the sj quest he offered me the quest. So it might have to do with Fame... but also may rely on have finishing the sj quest.

RE: Bed
# Dec 01 2003 at 6:38 PM Rating: Default
It's not that either.

I've had the bed in my house for at least 2 weeks RL, have completed more than 25 indivual quests in my home town, sat with the mog through the conquest tally, and have the subjob quest, nothing.

I think I need to repeate a few quests.
Higher fame

You need more than 25 quests completed.

Incorrect.

I have 19 completed and have received this quest.
???
# Nov 30 2003 at 1:46 PM Rating: Default
OK, I got the quest today. He asks for a power bow and beetle ring. I had a beetle ring in my safe already since I was using one, but didn't have a power bow. I went out to the AH to buy one and came back. When I tried to trade either to him or both at the same time, nothing happens and the mog house menu pops up.

Help??
Wait til recount
# Nov 29 2003 at 7:58 PM Rating: Good
The mog won't give you the quest until the conquest recount occurs. Just wait til then with the bronze bed placed in your room.
Windhurst only?
# Nov 28 2003 at 6:00 PM Rating: Default
Ok is this Windhurst only? I've had a brass bed for more than 2 weeks and no sign of him wanting a vacation. I've completed 27 Missions... but actually did most of them this week. LVL 20 Monk... so any clues?
RE: Windhurst only?

Bronze Bed
# Nov 24 2003 at 11:27 PM Rating: Good
Done this quest already. Its a Bronze Bed (4,000 gil) you place in your house. The moogle tells you that sleeping in the bed makes him home sick. He asks you if he can go visit his family. Tell him yes. He will further tell you that when he goes home is is going to enter an archery contest and that he needs a Power Bow (10,000-12,000 gil). He also would like to take his mother a present and he thinks that a Beetle Ring (1,000-2,000 gil)will look good on her. He slumps his head forward and the little ball on his head droops and he is sad because he does not know where to get these items. When you aquire the items trade them to him and he will be so please with you that he tells you he is going and that when he returns he will bring you a present. When he returns in a few days time, ingame he brings you a brand new and improved mog safe with 60 slots instead of 50.

So all in all it costs you roughly 15,000 gil to increase the size of your safe by 10 slots. No too shabby in the grand scheme of things. Have fun!

Do you have to be a certain level to do this quest? I am level 14 rank 1 (almost 2 gotta do save quest). I have had the bed in since last week and for the conquest change over.
time
# Nov 24 2003 at 4:00 PM Rating: Excellent
heres to clear up some more information about this, it's a bronze bed. You don't need to leave it in for a week, your bed and moogle have to be in your house, not rent a house, during the conquest shift, meaning midnight japan time, on sunday morning.
RE: time
# Mar 08 2004 at 5:16 AM Rating: Decent
I'm not entirely sure that your moogle must be in your mog house during the tally, because I believe mine was in Bastok at the time and I got the quest from my moogle today (though it is also possible that I didn't rent a room until after the tally...for me it was late)
kind of bed

FYI you can raise your bank size twice more after completing this quest. Mahogany Bed, then Noble's bed will both also raise your Mog Safe size by 10 each. Of course the Mog wants some expensive crap for the trouble!

Almost positive it's bronze also

Not really even that big of an increase, but oh well, it's something

Bronze beads should cost about 4k to buy

If I remember correctly, don't you need a bronze bed instead of brass bed.
Transferable?
# Nov 20 2003 at 6:41 AM Rating: Decent
Ok, here's my question....If I do this in Windhurst does the increase carry over if I get a room in one of the other cities or do I have to repeat the quest there?
RE: Transferable?
# Mar 08 2004 at 5:12 AM Rating: Decent
Since your mog safe travels with your moogle, yes, the increased size applies even when you are renting a room in another city
