Sharpening the Sword - PLD AF1  

Just soloed this as 59PLD/DRK. Protect III, Shell II, Tav. Taco fight took about 1 min. He only hit me twice for 85HP. Simply killed everything in sight to build up to 300% TP and when he spwned I hit him with spirits Within for 600, took him down to ~20%. Just whacked him a few more times to get to 100% TP and WS to finish him off. Never even had to cure myself

I read a few of the posts on this page and another, and decided to give this a try aginst there advice. No problem.

The setup:

57 pld/war (myself) and a 37 whm/blm. So before we began i built up 300TP, cast protect III, shell II, used defender, had the whm cast barstonra and regen, and i used a rollinberry pie (50MP).

The fight:

As soon as the fight started the whm cast silence and paralize and neither one stuck, probly too low lvl as expected. Anyways i cast flash wich stuck for about 2 seconds and dumped Spirits Within for 501dmg takeing him down to about a third health and i then used an icarus wing to get TP back (100TP for 5k well worth it). Polevik imedietly cast stone II for 90dmg, put up stone skin and then went to work on me for about 40dmg a hit. I then used sential to redeuce dmg taken to 6dmg per hit. We went rounds for a couple minutes, he used stone II a couple more times for a total of 300dmg and we got a few hits and a few spells in between the first and second time he cast stone skin while im still bulding up to 300TP agin. Stone skin went down a second time just as i hit 300TP, used cure IV to fill health and laid waist to the quarter health he had left.

The final score:

I would say it was a 2 minute battle total. Neither one of us needed to use 2 hour and i went into the yellow twice with the whm and i useing cure III on me a few times. In the end we both had full health and no MP left. In other words this NM was a joke and can be done at low lvls with some good planing. Keep in mind SE mite have adjusted this NM down a bit from the looks of the previous posts.

I soloed Polevik as a 61BLM/30RDM with little difficulty. I had taken on elementals many times before as my BLM and never had problems, so I made the assumption that this NM was a over-glorified earth elemental.. and he is!

As long as Silence sticks the fight is cake. I used some Pineapple juice, but I needed no ethers for this. I didnt even have to use my 2-hr!

All-in-all it was a fun fight though. So if any of you aspiring PLDs have a high lv BLM or BLM friend, have em' take this guy out for you.

Solo'd this as a 75bst/nin with CourierCarrie. It hardly touched CC. and I took no damage at all. Easy.

Make sure you are on your pld when you talk to Ailbeche in N.Sandy he has to tell you to go to the caves, and Sobane is useless you don't need to talk to him. I pwned the nm with me (75th/nin) and a 75blm/whm. gl^^

Did this as 51PLD(me) and 61RDM friend, was extreamly easy and nothing worth gettin worked up about.

Well this quest was kinda hard me (41pld) and my friend 70thf got pwn the frist time casue i was attacking for some reason hits him 70+ dmg but the 2nd time w=he pwn him with SATA cause a lvl 60 war came along so SATA pwned him

Just did this as a 42pld.

Got a 60blm/whm,
63RDM, 58PLd, and another 51PLD who needed the quest.

Went to ordelles, PLD and RDM gained TP for spirits within,
We spawned the mob, both used WS, and it was at less than 10% life.
[PLD was a galka, mind you]
BLM finished it off with an Aero III.

{Too weak.}!!!

It never even did 1 HPs of dmg as WAR/NIN 75,

Spirits within did 4/5ths of its HPs in one then took about 10 seconds to finish it off. {too weak}

Fought this NM with me (54 PLD) and my 54 RDM. was a piece of cake. He hits hard though, about 120 every hit, but it seems his accuracy is pretty low because he missed me a lot. just best to keep it silenced so stonega 2 doesn't go off.

Ok killed it as 57 war/nin was very hard
won with 210 hp left and used 2 x potions and a healer npc

he hits hard and stonga took alot of my hp although he used it once

i recomend soloing him 65+

42PLD(me), 65RDM, 54WHM

Easy as pie. WHM kept it silenced and kept up barstonra, RDM and i beat the living daylight out of it. a sinch, no problem at all, bout 15mins in all start to finish.

I just did this expecting some challenge.

Solo'd as RDM68/BLM34

After reading how much this would hit a 60+, I started the fight with all buffs possible on and 300TP.

I cast every enfeeb I could to start off the battle and stoneskin fell not long after. The only hit I took was 44 with Phalanx still up (after a 0 dmg hit the chat log said took Stoneskin down). I quickly cast Stoneskin back up.

At this time, probably 1 min had passed and I had the NM down to 50%. Drained HP back to full and hit Spirits Within, finnishing it off.

The only spells it cast were Rasp and Stoneskin. I pretty much kept it silenced the entire fight

This quest is fairly easy. i did it with lvl 42 PLD, and got help from a lvl 65 SMN. The avitars took all the hate, accept for a couple "ga" spells it throu. (BTW it's a Earth Elemental)

It is easy just get another pld to help u one that is at least 65+ and build tp off of other mobs to 300% and just do Spirits within. I just did that for a friend and almost one shot him for 658dmg.

soloed it as a 62 DRG/ blm 23. it hits rather hard....so becareful. i ice spiked so i can paralyze it. it doesnt hit often so you have plenty of time to heal breath. if your PLD is around make sure they stay out of Stonega II or they will die. only issue is that if it casts stonega 2 too much your wyvern will die. but it has low HP that it will die soon. good fight.

this quest was easy as cake.
i got the quest activated as pld.
changed to my 50 white mage, and duo'd the NM with myself and a 60 ninja.

I kept silencing the Elemental, and regen, hasting the ninja. went down in about 3 minutes. no struggle at all.

you dont need to be PLD to spawn the NM you only need to be a PLD to get the quest activated.

done this quest yesterday with 2v friends lvl 75
had no problem pld done spirits within and took 90%hp from ele 3-4 min fight tops

Could a 59 War solo this. my Pld is almost 40 so i wana start this quest ASAP

just barely did this quest...had help from a 63 monk and thats all (i'm a 41pld and was subbing smn for mp for healing) i spawned it and he Chi-Blasted it for like 400 dmg....i dunno if we just got lucky but fight was over in like 30 secs...monk hundred fists and Howling fist and bam...thing was basically dead...one or 2 more hits and it was over..i spent more time buffing up b4 battle than actually fighting.. thank you to Rudabega (Fairy)

Finished it today, it was... interesting.
Went with 50 BST/NIN, 58 WHM/BLM, 50 BLM/RDM, and 52 BLM/WHM (me - you don't need to be pld to spawn the mob). We had planned that the BST's pets would tank it, so I spawned it and the Crab Familiar attacked. The crab did pretty much nothing and died really quickly. Eventually the BST and WHM (with stoneskin up) tanked and I threw Aero 2's every once in a while (didn't want to use Tornado as to not gain hate). Aero 2 did very little damage (his magic resistance is super high), but it was still doing more damage than anything else. Silence stuck. After we got things under control he went down pretty quickly (less than 3 min., I think).
