SummaryThe Tenshodo is gathering expert thieves to its fold. Carry out your orders by handing the Tenshodo envelopes to the appropriate people and having them sign the documents within. WalkthroughStart this quest by talking to Nanaa Mihgo at J-3 in Windurst Woods. Next, head to the Tenshodo headquarters in Lower Jeuno; to get in, you will need a Tenshodo Invite. Just inside the HQ, talk to Harnek for a cutscene in which you and several other thieves are given envelopes and sent out to find old members of a legendary band of thieves. You are told to find a galka thief in Selbina. Head to Selbina and talk to Elfriede at J-9 in the Shepherd's Muster Inn. In a cutscene, the thief Sneaking Tiger appears and says you must prove you are worthy by bringing him a Quadav Stew. The stew can only be stolen from certain quadavs in Beadeaux, including Garnet Quadavs, Silver Quadavs, Zircon Quadavs and Bronze Quadavs. Using thief as a subjob on a different high level job works ok for stealing the stew. Once you get the stew, return to Selbina and trade the stew to Elfriede for another cutscene with Sneaking Tiger. Then head back to the Tenshodo in Lower Jeuno and talk again to Harnek. After the ensuing cutscene, you receive your Marauder's Knife. Quest SeriesThis quest is part of the thief Artifact Gear quest series:

i would like to confirm, that you CAN steal from the Zircon Quadav, i did it on my 4th try as THF/BLM

Stole my Quadav stew on the second try.

I pulled the quadavs at the entrance with boomerang, making a nice link, steal, flee. No +steal gear on.

Hi I'm Gambitt (one t was taken) and this is my first post. When I was reading this thread i thought peopl were just saying they got it on their first try. I did this last sunday night with my linkshell member Qiqsand who was a big help. I drove a chocobo to Beadeux but he was too drunk to drive so he outpost warped. When we got there he provoked a Silver Quadav and i ran behind it without engaging it and stole a stew on my first try. I thought this quest was amazingly easy but I can see how someone could hate it if they had bad luck with the steal.
this quest is the WORST quest EVER!!
this takes way too much time and the drop is so rare.
right now in 0/40

ok did this today took me 70 attemots im 41 thf/nin i tryed at 40 and went 0/50 then went and lvled went bk and tryed 20 more times just as i was giving up i got it so to let all u thf no if it takes u long dnt worry u will get it just need to be patient
I went to Beadeaux as 37THF/18NIN was just messing about, didn't really think I'd get it on my third try.... Now I got nothing to do :(

Try doing RNG AF Cap. You got to scavenge in a pool with 4 Leeches and the room full of Yagudos. Did that as Lv64 WAR/RNG.
This THF quest took me like 12 tries. Got on first Garnet Quadav I try. Lv70 WAR/THF for this.

I guess I'm just the luckiest person alive. Me and a buddy [55drk/27war] were out in Beadueax getting my items for the Magicite mission, and decided to go after this also. Well as I said, I must be super lucky, because he voked a silver quadav, I snuck around and hit steal, and boom...one shot, one kill, the stew was mine. Then we proceeded to own silly quadavs all the way to zone. Needless to say, this dagger rocks. I just hit 43 and pairing this with calavaley's dagger does wonders. I think I crit about 4/5 times and my SATA dmg never drops below 300 or so, without food of course. Have fun with it theives, it's NIIIIIICE!

Beadeaux Area.
Me and a friend went Drk/Thfs 57&50. We both wanted the knife for our THFs. We pulled Silver Quadav and Bronze Quadav from the ledges with bio or ranged weapon. I fought and while back of mob was to him he did steal. He stole stew from first mob. We fought about another 15 minutes I didn't get anything. After he left I stood by the zone, use a ranged weapon to pull the Quadav down and zoned. When I entered Beadeux again the mob was walking away so I did steal from behind. It took three attempts and got my stew.

Well after 25 tries finally got it and off a Silver Quadav. 67WHM/33THF i cast Paralyze and Slow and got it. Don't know if that help but before that i didn't cast anything and i didn't even get a coin. For all that needs it be patient.. and GL
I stopped playing the game a while back and recently restarted. I'm quite keen to get all my AF gear again because I let someone strip my account bare and in doing so, they threw out everything that wasn't saleable.
I cannot get the NPC in Windurst or the NPC in Jeuno to talk to me nor can I trade the stew to the NPC in Selbina.
If htis quest is repeatable then I am at a loss to figure out how. Perhaps it is repeatable up until you get AF2 or something. I had completed to AF4.
Any thoughts on how to repeat this if it's possible?

tehere is a npc that erases your memory so you can get the quest again, not sure of name but if i find him i'll follow up

I'm about 0/35(lost count). Been there three times and no luck. I think Im gonna buy a Rabbit Charm then get the item then sellt he charm. I hate this weapon, but its so worth it.
edit: Got it after my 47th Steal. Feels good.

got it on my 6th try, as 41THF/20RNG
stolen from a Zircon Quadav in the first big area. solod Go'Bhu as well for 1 of my rank 5 items ^^ he was EM and too a while, but sleep and bloody bolts prevailed!

Just got it. Took about 12 tries. Didn't count exactly though. Wasn't too bad. I just read this thread to keep myself entertained in between {Steal}s. :P

got it on 7th try. It seems to help if you're behind the mob. Hope that helps anyone who needs it.

Has anyone tried to steal this off turtles in other areas like Rolanberry? I tried to steal from a Garnet in Rolanberry and got a silver beastcoin.
*Edit* Got the stew from Bronze Quadav after 3rd try in Beadeaux. All other steals failed, so I assume it's the only place...

well ill say this for the thf af1 quest... I HATE IT! Ive gotten 4 other af1 weapons before trying this one and they where a breeze to me. I went down to try to steal from Silver Bronze with my 70BLM/35THF and went 0/12. Getting angry i thought, maybe if i get my thf i will have lvl 40 status and can steal better... Boy was i wrong. Went 0/17 with thf as my main... im really thinking for getting a rabbit charm just for this cause at this rate ill have farmed enough with my 45gil mugs to buy 1 lol.

is it possible to enable the quest. then swap to a much higher level job and sub thf to steal the stew? didn't know if this is possible. can someone confirm

Yeah, this can be done. I stole my stew as 75RNG/37THF with little troulbe, it just took quite a while. Not sure if the success rate on the steal would be better with THF main, but it -can- be done with THF sub.

went to beadeaux, a silver was up on the edge of the top level i stole without engaging got stew first try =D
